Maybe not playbook but it changes how the O-line is built, and probably how routes are ran and everything They built their offensive line to match their scheme and, most importantly, to help Drew Brees. He’s a smaller quarterback who needs to see his passing lanes, so the Saints have always built their line with massive guards, going back to Jahri Evans, Ben Grubbs and Carl Nicks. They pair those big bodies who can keep the pocket firm with big athletic tackles who can manage the width of the pocket. The Saints have used the draft, free agency, and trades to build this unit.

If it was Young why not sign a short backup Qb and get a HC and QB coach that were also short NFL QB's? Bryce requires a completely different playbook than any of those guys are used to
-
I would give the staff the benefit of the doubt for those 3. If they take Levis I will doubt the decision
-
Yeah, I wonder if Young can do that against NFL Defenses, and also think he'll basically cut out all under center play action plays and QB sneaks in the playbook. With Stroud I think you can adjust to any game plan a lot easier. I'm just hesitant of getting a small QB that almost has to play out of shotgun. AR I'm going to leave that up to coaches because who knows what he's showing in interviews and critical film study.

Yeah I think the idea for most of these draft sites is it's a Goff floor and Burrow Ceiling

I really hope we don't get Monster Energy drink claws. Looks like some poo jello shot girls wear walking around some shitty club
-
Hey he ranked #8 on the end of year rankings lol.

As long as it's not Levis I'll trust this coaching staff. I'm leaning towards Stroud as your solid Burrow/Goff with better wheels guy, or AR as the gamble pick. Bryce I get the ability to read college defenses to make his game work but the lack of under center play action/QB sneak ability/always dropping back 8 yards from the line in shotgun thing is getting redundant watching some tape.
-
With Bryce you really have to commit to the Brees/Saints era philosophy of stacking the O-line/Receivers, and even then I don't think Bryce has a prime Brees arm. He's also at least 2" shorter and 10 pounds lighter. I"m not going to watch all his game film but did Bryce even take a snap under center at Bama? I don't know if he can even run play action under center in the NFL because he usually likes a shotgun snap and then another 3 yard drop just to get his throwing lanes open/room to get the ball over D-line hands

We'll see how far he drops before someone bites. -
Interesting numbers When his feet are set and he’s on platform, he ranks in the top 15 percent of my 10-season sample -- and he can get his feet set under duress. However, he had one of the longest times to throw while not under pressure last season (3.02 seconds, per PFF, ranking T-153rd). When you look into why, you’ll see he dropped back farther on average than the rest of the top passers in this class. Looking at QB comps from past drafts, passers who consistently had deep dropbacks have not fared well at the pro level unless their O-line -- specifically the tackles -- are able to hold off pressure well and recover when a rusher has a great second (or third) effort.

If anything Stroud probably went outside of the system a little in the Georgia game. I don't get as excited watching Stroud scramble around as some, I think he's literally trying to see past the D-line guys. At the next level that's kinda a pain in the ass for the O-line to constantly deal with and limits the playbook

During the Scheme videos McCown didn't seem particularly excited about having to devote a whole offseason to teaching someone QB 101 stuff. I think his footwork is gonna take a while, even then a lot of guys revert back to bad habits as soon as they're in a real game and the pressure and speed pick up. At least he's young enough for the right team to take their time

Accuracy looks better than the Combine

Is he actually throwing or are these still warm ups? Camera angles are horrible

Bout to throw -
Hope he throws outside. Tired of seeing these guys throw in little gyms

Looks the part

He's in a competition with Sam Darnold this summer while Purdy recovers from surgery. That's basically last shot to prove yourself level stuff

AR behind Geno for a year or two
