Yeah page 2 I posted a screenshot of his statement, it's super fuging dumb lol.

According to multiple players and staffers in the locker room, some players were asking why Eberflus didn’t call a timeout. Other players got going, too. “Guys were furious,” a staff member said. “It was an accumulation of this season.” “The locker room was ugly,” another staffer said. “There was a lot of yelling.” Said the first player: “We felt as players it’s been too many instances where we fought our way back into games to lose because of bad time management and decision-making.” Multiple sources added that the emotions were so high between the players and their head coach that Eberflus left the locker room immediately after his speech and the exchange with players. There was nothing left to say. It was a moment for this Bears team that would inevitably force chairman George McCaskey into something the franchise had never done before. By Friday morning, Eberflus was out — but not before the team decided to have him address the media over Zoom just after 9 a.m. Two hours later, he was gone. The Bears made it official by sharing statements from general manager Ryan Poles and president/CEO Kevin Warren.

@adamjahns In Detroit, Bears players finally had enough. The locker room was an ugly scene. Players yelled back at their head coach — and he left. The inside story on the final days of Matt Eberflus and where he lost his team. https://x.com/adamjahns/status/1862848299981541516

The fact that Caleb acknowledges that they had one timeout before he goes into depth acting like he basically had no option but for a deep shot? lol. I'm pretty sure the coach said the initial call was to try and get a little gain from an inbound pass and call time out so they could kick it at a little better distance. At the end of the day since Caleb was in over his head and panicking the coach should have called the time out and just tried the long field goal which I think would have been around 60 and even the screen flashed that their guy had kicked I think 64 yards before.
-
Well the coach sucked but Caleb actually changed the call for a dumbass reason lol
-
Yeah all the mock drafts have that happening with us taking a fuging CB at 5 lol.
-
Can’t watch but that yards avg is looking familiar
-
He doubled down on it this morning after watching film and I think that's when they said that's the final straw lol.
-
I wonder if he was already calling the plays, or if he's gonna get one of his assistants to help with calling the offense so he can try to show a bit more overall focus than Eberflus in game lol.

@JosinaAnderson Subscribe Bears have fired head coach Matt Eberflus. Thomas Brown is interim head coach.

Wouldn't be surprised if he starts a couple Jets games this year with the way the Rodgers thing is going. Giants fans are pissed they didn't keep him lol. He might actually have a little bit of a market. -
@kfishbain Bears head coach Matt Eberflus’ Zoom is underway. Business as usual. He says “the operation wasn’t fast enough” on the final play. Acknowledged that calling a timeout right when Caleb Williams was sacked was an option. He and Thomas Brown watched the last drive together this AM.

Wasn't expecting the Dolphins offense to look this bad.

I'd give the rookie WR's more credit than that. Bryce did actually earn most his yards against the Chiefs, but that Saints game was all rookie WR's yac. It was probably like 80ish of the 170 total passing yards were yac by JT and Coker. The throws have been accurate though and he's obviously playing with more confidence. I still want to see something over 40 yards in the air at some point that looks good/accurate

Miami not used to this weather apparently
-
Alright got some football weather
-
@mike_e_kaye Jonathan Mingo and Diontae Johnson have combined for three catches for 16 yards on 15 total targets through seven combined games since getting traded away by the #Panthers.
-
Too early to say Wonnum>Burns? I doubt he'll keep getting 1 sack a game but he's a better finisher and more useful in run support as well it seeems. Same height, 8 pounds heavier
-
Yeah Caleb is generally way too slow to process really anything. Pre snap, in play, clock situations...Who knows if they actually practice 2 minute/end of game drills enough to drill it into these guys heads. Eberflus is a defensive coach and Thomas Brown is more of a position coach than an OC as we found out first hand lol.

Still any Drew Lock stans in here?
-
uhh ok @TomPelissero #Bears coach Matt Eberflus on the final sequence: The hope was to re-rack the play, snap the ball at 18 seconds, throw in-bounds, call timeout and then kick the field goal. Still likes how they handled it. “We’ve just got to do a better job together.”

Giants are 2-9, we're 3-8. Won't we still have to wait til Sunday to know the official standings based on the outcome of our game as well? I dunno if them being 3-9 and us being 3-8 would put us over them for a couple days.
