First off, who is acting like this team has a chance of going to the SuperBowl? Show me this poster so I can point and laugh. Now that said, whomever wins the division gets a home game AGAINST THE COWBOYS. And for them, we are a Bad Matchup. Our Run game will literally run them over and out of the building, should we get that far (get into the playoffs).

Your point? The Bucs are still not 100%. And they still won't stop the Run this Sunday.

If we lose to a decimated Bucs team with how our Running game has gone, then we don't deserve to be in the playoffs.

I think it's likely that Sam would take a paycut considering the Panthers were probably the only team that gave him a shot after his career seemed shot in NY.

That's a fair assessment. I just think that perhaps if it finally all of a sudden clicks for him, it may be for another team and not us. Though the odds that it does click for him are stacked against him. But who knows? Let's see what happens this Sunday. This is by far the Biggest Game of his career.

Is it Processing speed or is his Offensive Line failing him? We see what a good O-line (finally) can do to help a QB stay upright and go through his progressions no matter how slow his processing speed is. Maybe all Malik needs is a Good O-Line......

Okay, now I'm going to post my overly Optimistic Prediction for this game that I hope will happen : This Panthers team isn't the same team that beat the Bucs 21-3 early in the season. They had PJ f'n Walker (a QB that belongs in the CFL, not the NFL) go nuts offensively (for him) and beat them. Now they have a vastly IMPROVED and more Ball-Conscious(taking care of the football, I mean) Sam Darnold who is part of this well-oiled Rushing Machine of an offense who, unlike PJ, can throw a deep ball (BIG PLAY) on occasion. Plus, the Panthers also have the READ-OPTION with Sam which is a new wrinkle that the Bucs did not deal with the last time they faced them and will have issues in how to handle it. The key, of course, is the Running game rolling and Sam continuing to show that it's not a mirage and that he truly has finally developed into at least an effective Game-manager. All in all, I believe the Running game DOES roll (again), Sam does do well (again), and the Panthers beat the....uhh..."Brakes"....off of the Bucs (again). Final Score : Panthers 38 Bucs 20 #KeepPounding

If that's the case, I'd rather we lose to the Bucs so at least we can say we lost to Tom Brady AND the referees. Losing to the Taints after a big win against the Bucs would be soul-crushing.... For my part, I'm hoping we beat the Bucs and the Taints.

Though he did say in a recent interview that it's been far better for him when the running game is working and he does not have to play "Hero ball". Here is the interview in case you missed it : What I got out of that is that Sam is far more comfortable in this type of offense than the offense we see involving QB's that air it out. There's nothing wrong with that but considering other Franchise QBs who excel (throw the ball all over the place short, medium, and deep passes with accuracy and regularity no matter if the running game is working or not) in less than ideal situations, I think Sam ultimately isn't going to be *THE* long-term answer at QB. But at the very least, he will be "an answer" for the time being until we find our Franchise QB. And frankly, that's way more than many of us expected coming into this season where some of us thought Sam was a lost cause and was fast on his way out of the league like a Jamarcus Russell or, ironically enough, Ryan Leaf.

Sam admits that having the run game and not being asked to play "hero" ball is very much preferable. This pretty much puts to bed any notion of him being a Franchise QB but he seems to be developing into one hell of a Backup QB (or maybe even a Bridge QB, which would be ideal for us, should he accept a role like that after this season).

Damn it. I can totally see that happening. Same here....HOWEVER, if "Careful" Sam is still Careful, he won't force a throw. Either way, though, it's looking like it's going to be an uphill battle. I hope Brady f-cks off after this year.

Exactly. Coming into the final year of his contract here (another stupid decision by Fitt to pick up his option then), I thought he was going to wash out of the league like a Jamarcus Russell or Ryan Leaf entirely after he was done here as a Panther. Now he's actually provided a blueprint for other teams to see that he CAN be actually USEFUL as a backup in the league which is huge for his career. I think in that respect, Ben McAdoo saved Sam's future in the league and he(Sam) won't have to give up the game of football after all.
