  1. I think he means "Sam wasn't an asshole"
  2. You're just continuously throwing a tantrum here at anyone even remotely suggesting he return. Relax, man. When all is said and done, two things will have happened : 1.) We sign a different Vet to backup whomever we draft or 2.) We re-sign Sam to backup whomever we draft. But here's the rub with #2 as there's no guarantee Sam would entertain being a backup at just age 25(going on 26) so the chances of him moving on are even higher right now.
  3. Define "Preliminary discussions". What does that even mean? Is it like "Say, Sam....You want to come back?" Sam's like "Sure." and that's that? Or is it "Uh Sam...so if you want to come back, you'll have to be a backup or a Bridge QB 'cause we're drafting one." Sam's like "uhh....." ????
  4. Well he did prove he's not a TOTAL failure in the NFL. So in that respect, he did "prove the haters wrong". He's just not a Starting-Quality QB.
  5. So you're saying that Sam stunk as a QB because.....he's too smart? uhh.....
  6. Saquon Barkley scored an 18 on the Wonderlic and he's one hell of a Running Back. So yeah....the Wonderlic scores are garbage.
  7. In theory but thunderraiden may be onto something.......
  8. This was exactly my thought. lol Then again, maybe he scores well? His problem wasn't knowledge...it was Processing SPEED.
  9. 3 of those 100 throws were in the same game : The game where the Panthers got BURNED 3 TIMES by f'n EVANS because Wilks failed to make the necessary adjustments to defend that. Led 21-10 and it turned into a loss because of these 3 throws. Funny how one of the other Non-Tampa-Bay-Game throws consisted of two players who are not on the Panthers anymore (Baker and the Not-Chosen Anderson)....
  10. I thought, from the title of the thread, this would be about the intelligence (or lack thereof) here at the huddle.
  11. Yeah. I haven't been here long but it's obvious from what I read here is that spending a ton wasn't the issue. It's spending WISELY that was. and now he's done that with the Coaching at least.
  12. QB is the position of focus for me and I think they will sign a Free Agent. Question is WHAT Free Agent? There are no indications one way or the other (at least not yet) that the New Coaching staff is leaning toward or away from any FA whether it's Sam, Brissett, or anyone else. I really want this proverbial ball to get rolling here. We need a QB.
  13. So in other words, there is no one out there worth going after. And your solution is to do what the Jets did and toss whatever rookie we get straight into the fire? We might as well re-sign Sam (or sign Brissett) if that's the case. Let them get run over while the Rook sits, watches, and learns on what to do or not-to-do as a QB or something.
  14. To be fair, Rhule could've had Patrick Mahomes and he'd fail as well.
  15. Very true. And besides, it's looking more and more like he may be Jets-bound : So....Aaron Rodgers to the Panthers, then?
  16. I was referring to ready-to-perform QBs, not rookie wet-behind-the-ear ones just coming into the league, though.
  17. #1 choice - Get Stroud (no matter what it takes, I don't care) #2 choice - Young would be fine if we can't get Stroud. Eh...sure, I guess - Not a popular choice (massive understatement) I will make here but depending on whom we draft at QB (so I guess this section is attached to the #1 and #2 choices I mentioned), it would be imperative to sign a Vet QB to be the de-facto BRIDGE. Now I have said Brissett is someone who can serve in that fashion but I am also thinking "So can Sam Darnold" who might be cheaper, though that's just my opinion, not fact. Besides, I'm a proponent of continuity; and Sam and DJ have a sort of chemistry going on. Combine that with the acquisition of Josh McCown as QBs coach, and...well..you never know. Perhaps we haven't seen the last of Sam Delusional just yet. (I can just hear the teeth-gnashing of the usual suspects regarding this. ) (don't worry, teeth-gnashers. I am not really feeling Sam being here anymore anyway so put away your pitch-forks. ) - Keep the 9th pick and take Levis/Richardson (and have the Bridge QB, whomever it is, give them time to get acclimated to the NFL before stepping aside). Use the remaining picks that we haven't dealt, to acquire a WR, a Tight-End, a Defensive-end and so forth. Not a fan of it but I'll deal with it - Sign Derek Carr and the reason I wouldn't like it is more because of the Price Tag attached than anything else. If he came cheap, then he'd be a solid get but that 30 million price tag, though....meh.. That's a Nope for me, bud - Trade for Lamar. On the surface, it looks like he would be a difference-maker but is he really a difference-maker? Plus, it would take a ton to acquire him. "A ton" which the Panthers can't afford to give up at this point.
  18. It's easy to say that we (or rather Tepper) will hopefully be aggressive in going after a QB. But it's always easier said than done, especially when there really isn't anyone that is available that can fulfill that "difference-maker" moniker. If there is, then please someone (anyone) provide a list of these AVAILABLE-TO-ACQUIRE "difference-makers". Thanks.
  19. Well is there a difference maker for him to go after? 'Cause I'm not seeing any one listed. (Maybe I missed the post)
  20. So if Tepper is desperate, then he'll go sign Carr to 30 million.
  21. I mean it's eons better than Rhule's staff but that's a really low bar to clear.
