From the same article : For one, DJ Moore is getting more of the shorter routes, which may explain why he’s getting 29% of the targets compared to 17% for Anderson. Last season, Anderson got 27% compared to 22% for Moore. So this is not exactly Sam's fault. This is more Brady's as he has Robbie be the deep threat instead of just hanging around 10 yards or less (along with DJ) catching those easy 5 yarders and getting YAC. I think Brady's reasoning was that Sam is willing to throw the ball deep and his theory was Robbie would catch the ball. Now that Sam's deep ball inaccuracy is on display, maybe Brady will bring Robbie back in and use him like he did with Teddy? I mean...that's how Robbie got all his stats last season. Makes sense, right?

Are the 2021 Carolina Panthers worse than the 2020 Carolina Panthers?

That's fair. That first INT almost had me break my computer screen. At least that was the only INT he threw (much better than the 3 INTs last week, so that's...something, I guess? -

The inability to play without CMC is alarming. -
Panthers WRs had the 6th most catchable drops by a team the last decade

You're not really telling me anything new here. I said that I want the "final-drive" Sam Darnold for 60 minutes instead of what we witnessed earlier than that. Of course it's on him to put it together. -
This entire thread is just another "All Sam's Fault" thread. The first pass was all him. And some of the passes that he threw incomplete were also him. The one fumble was bad(but that was more on the O-Line than anything else). The rest was all on the Receivers' collective butterfingers and only ONE instance of DJ doing the "business decision" thing which was just an assumption by Vilma which some here are taking and running with as if it's fact and not acknowledging that DJ actually dropped a pass that hit him right on the hands. #MakingExcuses Had the WR's caught the passes that were catchable, we'd be sitting on 4-2 right now....still bitching but still 4-2.

Just how many f*cking accounts are you going to make, CPsinceday1? WTF???
-
yeah. That last drive proved he was better than the rest of that flotsam.
-
Then apparently he's doing something wrong if Sam is continuously putting the wide receivers "in danger"(OH NO! ) then (I still stand by my statement, though). Maybe if he schemed the Wide Receivers open a bit BETTER, there wouldn't be any so-called "Hospital Balls" thrown.... There's a thought. Maybe if he did a better overall job calling plays, things would be better in general.... ...god, I hope he takes the LSU job and just f*cks off after this year.

This is actually a very valid point here that people are missing. If Sam does not play well against the Giants (and we lose), I think it's safe to say that the "experiment" is finished. But if he plays well and the Panthers win, the experiment continues.... (of course there's always the possibility that Sam plays well but the Panthers "D" fail to show up...and the Panthers still lose....*grumble*)

Paradis has been flat-out stealing money. The sooner he's gone, the better.

Saw this in another thread. Now we know why the team had butterfingers for most of the game. It was because they were following the Coach's lead.
-
This is the NFL. A Wide Receiver should expect to get nailed every time they go to catch a Football by a Defender whose job is to separate the football from the receiver. Every pass thrown can quickly turn into a so-called "Hospital Ball". Give me a break with that Take.

eh. Kyle Allen would not have had the drive late that Sam did. I think Sam is better than him and TB but that's a really low bar to set so whatever.... You know what I want? I want the Sam we saw that final drive to be the Sam for 60 minutes in every game. That version of Sam is what's needed to win games. And I don't know if it was indeed Sam going "off-script"(ignoring Brady's sh*tty playcalls) during that drive or not....but if it was, he needs to start calling more audibles. -

Now we know why the team had butterfingers for most of the game....they were following the coach's lead. How? You think he will fare any better behind THIS O-Line? Until the O-Line is fixed to be at least AVERAGE, No young QB will be even remotely successful. -
Perhaps you're right on that count. Too bad we don't have an actual AVERAGE O-Line to properly evaluate Sam to see exactly what we truly have (some say he can be a good Bridge QB, others say he's a backup, I say he can be a good Bridge QB with the occasional game or two where he plays beyond his level....but we'll never know when the line is sh*t). I hope the 1000% focus at Free Agency and the Draft is to go full-speed-ahead on getting Offensive Linemen.
