Your reaction in Gifs when Cam comes through tunnel
glenwo2 replied to slumdogmillionaire's topic in Carolina Panthers
Nah. Sam's reaction would be like... "I don't give a f*ck. 18 million...Thanks, Suckers!" -
Yep. Darnold is not a leader. Neither is Robby, btw.

Your reaction in Gifs when Cam comes through tunnel

"Hey! There's Cam!" -

Same here. After that clutch drive against Minnesota, I was like "THAT'S IT! That's the moment where it finally clicked for Sam and where he begins to turn into the QB we want him to be!" What an absolute downer it was on what happened the following week all the way to now (with Cam being brought back the only bright spot). Anyway, I've wasted enough time on Sam and it's now time to focus attention on those who deserve it : CAM F'N NEWTON.

If Fit finds a sucker-of-a-team to take on Sam's contract, we might as well build a statue of him right now.

I was fooled. But for a lot longer than many here. I watched 3 seasons of him in NY and thought to myself "If it weren't for the Jets ineptitude at Coaching, Sam's career would take off"... ...then when he was traded here, I thought my criticisms of the Jets would be validated. And for the first 3 games, It looked that way. Even in the loss to the Cowboys, I saw him throw back-to-back TD's to get the Cats within a 3-and-out of a shot at tying the game. Even in the win against the Texans where we lost CMC, I thought he showed moxie or whatever, fooling me into thinking that perhaps he CAN play without his safety net(CMC). Even in the loss to the Vikings(That should never have happened), I thought he finally turned a corner with that game-tying drive to send it to OT. But then the wheels came off and I saw the same Sam I saw in NY. Though if I were being honest with myself, I was still seeing the same Sam from the get-go. It was very disappointing for me personally as I really really believed that Sam would turn it around here in Charlotte. To see the opposite happen was devastating. Now that Cam was signed, I hope to see actual Competent QB play so we can not only salvage the season but still make a playoff-run out of it. And Best wishes to your brother and family.

Jake Delhomme and Steve Beurlein(sp?), right?
-
We may yet still lose the season 'cause the road to the playoffs got a bit tougher (with the remaining teams) than it should've been, thanks to the atrocious QB play of Sam. Only thing I will say is that if the Cats make it, they would've earned it.

I'm just glad Cam is back. Even looking from afar (when I was a Jets fan back in the day), Carolina didn't look the same without Cam at QB, you know?
-
Yes. 'Cause I have. And all that time, I thought it was all Adam Gase. And for the most part, it was but Adam Gase's "stink" actually served to mask Sam's "stink" from showing itself. That's why he apparently fooled myself, others, and RHULE into giving him another shot.

They should really get going in using a new name already. WFT is so generic and stupid...much like their owner so I guess that's why there hasn't been an update to the name.

What do I know? I know that I look at that Acronym and think WTF?
-
I'll just leave this here (for the laughs and not just 'cause the tweet is incorrect as to where it hit him) : DOINK!
-
Or maybe he was thinking of his significant other and the amount of times he'd bang her when he got the chance?
-
Which would end up being a boon for Sam 'cause he gets more money on top of the 18 mil. After thinking about it, I agree with the person here who said that Sam may have one more team out there give him one final chance before getting booted from the league (basically).... But that possibility is only if we cut him and yeah...Tepper may end up tossing Sam out on his ass(figuratively speaking) but we don't know if that will happen or not as I'm sure Tepper will exhaust all options in trying to see if there are any suckers..err, I mean "takers" for Sam out there before deciding to give him the ol' Heave-ho.
-
Useful in WHAT capacity, though?
-
I'd venture to say he's useless everywhere now. He'd deadweight as an NFL player.
-
Multiple years with Sam on the roster? lol. Don't see that happening. Sam needs to be gone, at worst, after next season.
-
I agree with you. Considering, as you stated, what they did with Bridgewater, I think it's easy to see the writing on the wall for this one. Except I don't recall us cutting Bridgewater but we did trade him to the Broncos.
-
Apparently so. Wait until the first loss, though. They'll be jumping off the bandwagon real fast, I imagine. I mean we should not forget that this whole situation(where we could have taken advantage of the weak schedule early to be 8-1 instead of where we are now) was brought about by him because of his decision to trade for Sam, not having a true backup to bench his ass, and his picking up of the 18 million dollar option. With Cam, there is now a chance but Rhule just made things more difficult than they needed to be.
-
Certainly helped that Murray and Hopkins were out and they had Colt McCoy do his best Sam Darnold impression.
-
At least it's only for one year. Imagine the horror if they had extended him for multiple years...
-
You weren't kidding.

Cam and Robby Anderson Joint Press Conference

You sure about that? Sam doesn't seem to have the mental ability to even be a backup to a backup at this point.
