Because this was Sam's problem. Not just here and not just with the Jets but in College as well. If he has finally found a way to take better care of the football which, so far he's done, THAT is progress and ACTUAL "DEVELOPMENT" which is way more development than he's gotten since coming into the league. Whether that development continues further will be entirely up to him. It also helps tremendously that he finally has an O-Line that doesn't allow sacks up the middle anymore (Bozeman has been a revelation) which gives him time to be set and throw (and be comfortable in the pocket for the first time in a million years). All that said, hopefully the Run game is there this sunday so he won't be asked to try and win the game for the Panthers.

Case in point : My god...We are absolutely going to lose next sunday if we don't get out to a fast start and just bury these fools.

I do think that if he continues to take better care of the football like he has, I think he could make a pretty decent backup for us while we continue to look for our next Franchise QB (or maybe give Corral a shot, considering he didn't get much of one).

AND *THIS* is the improvement that I've seen from him. The "Hero" ball crap was remnants of his time in NY where there was immense pressure to succeed with all the NY Media and obnoxious NY fans who never played a Pro sport in their life.

Have to agree with you on that. Now do we need MORE from him in those scenarios? Yes but at the same time, we can see he's now making it a point to take care of the football and not make costly errors. I have seen him throw the ball away (when nothing is there) more times than I have ever seen him back when he was a Jet. If that's not "development"(however long it took him), I don't know what is. This coming week is going to be the litmus test to see where he REALLY is at right now. I am not like many others here who are rooting for his failure just to be proven right. I just want to see whether the Sam we have been getting these past 4 games is the Norm or still the Exception.

Rhule would probably still be coaching. Sam being out forced PJ to start and accelerated the firing of Rhule. It was a blessing in disguise.
