  1. Can't believe that we finally are getting some NFL Football today. Even the fact that none of the starters will play doesn't dampen my enthusiasm. (but I would like to see the First-Team get reps in Game 2, though)
  2. So what this tells me is that even if Sam plays out of his mind, you still won't believe in him. Are you going to be one of those fans who credits the other players and not the QB? I mean... considering who was the QB before, I guess I shouldn't blame you but still... Why watch at all then?
  3. I'll still watch because I need my fix of NFL Football....even if it is meaningless Preseason.
  4. So glad I'm not part of that Negative-Nancy crowd anymore. Though we have our own Nancies here but still....
  5. uh...I wouldn't use the term "worlds above" but he's definitely better Talent-wise than Will and PJ, though. *shrugs* If he wasn't, he wouldn't be here and someone else would be in his place (and Will / PJ will still be relegated to the bench).
  6. Amen. From what we've seen lately, he's beginning to "get it" with all the reports of his throws being "dimes" or whatever. I hope he puts a whoopin' on the Jets. I also hope the Panthers D becomes a real Dennis-The-Menace and puts Mr. Wilson on his back often.
  7. And has thrown 45 Touchdowns. 45....on a garbage team. That doesn't sound much like "a bad QB" like Hepcat has as his mantra. He could be better (that's very true) and with this team, I think he will.
  8. He was the guy in New York who should never have thrown him out there to be the Guy his rookie year. Any halfway-competent NFL team would've had him at least sit for a year behind a Vet QB learning by watching, and participating in practices thus becoming more prepared. And I never said he wouldn't be able to handle it but why should he have to deal with THAT on top of trying to run the offense? He'll hear plenty of jeers and crowd noise at opposing stadiums. I doubt he'd want to hear (at his own home stadium) "We Want Fields! We Want Fields!" everytime he comes out on the field on each offensive possession.
  9. I'm sorry.....WHAT? So....knowing he only has 2 seasons to prove himself with the Panthers (combined with the fact that he has been working out like a madman, plus earning his teammates Respect from the get-go) isn't enough MOTIVATION? You want to have a QB on the sidelines and have the crowd start chanting his name when Sam struggles(and believe me...ALL QBs struggle from time to time)? Oh yeah...that would've done WONDERS for his confidence being a part of that fiasco. smh. Him knowing that HE is the guy, is why he will play LOOSE and RELAXED instead of being scared to make a mistake because of some hotshot Rookie on the bench eyeing his job.
  10. But but but..... "Man, everything I'm hearing about Darnold out of camp has severely dampened my excitement. " - CanePantherHornet
  11. CanePantherHornet sounds like someone who stopped paying attention once he heard Sam was struggling that ONE practice and he's now using it as The Gospel. It's pathetic.
  12. What did you hear and WHOM did you hear it from? 'Cause it sure as hell wasn't from the MAIN Sources 99% of us followed....
  13. Except the Panthers could not predict the future as far as Fields dropping. It's easy to play Hindsight-101 here after the fact but if the Panthers did not pull the trigger on the Darnold deal and Fields did not fall in the Draft, then the Panthers would've been sitting there with their thumbs up their collective asses wondering what happened. Then Panthers management HERE in this forum would've gotten eviscerated.
  14. All bad because of Sam? Or all bad because the team around him sucked donkey balls? Also, I'll repeat what I said in that OTHER thread ("Sam Darnold owns his mistakes....") as a response to your "Sam is a bad QB" : --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Nobody who throws more TDs than INTs on that version of the Jets the past 3 seasons should be considered a bad QB. It was basically him on an island trying to turn chicken poo into chicken salad. Did you know he had no QB coach there? No you probably didn't. Now he has actual coaching so we will see what develops with him. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Also, you assuming that EVERYONE has the same OPINION that you have is ridiculous. I get what you're trying to say but don't make it sound like everyone here echos your sentiments with the "WE" crap. Everyone does NOT share you viewpoint. You need to realize that the Panthers, this board, and the world does not revolve around what you say or do.
  15. I'm beginning to wonder if Sizzle may in fact either be Tepper himself or someone related....
  16. What's this "We" Bulls--t? Speak for yourself, buddy.
  17. "If Fields is a star..." Me : '' We have our own QB.
  18. Fixed. Because that's what I gather from your "Darnold is a Bad QB" posts.
  19. Disagree with the Brett Favre comparison but I do think he stays cool when pressured. I mean...he wouldn't be able to make ANY of the throws on the run that he did on the Jets if he wasn't able to stay cool. The key is "make good choices" aka Decision-making. Like...know where to throw and WHOM to throw it to. With the Jets he had close-to-zero options. With the Panthers, he will have options up the wazoo. It's going to be up to him to pick the appropriate target and make a good throw.
  20. Get to the Playoffs first. That is the first goal.
  21. Actually, pantherj : The Bolded is correct. I think the Defense is going to be the Key here.
  22. Nah. Sam would be more upset if he didn't receive the 2nd half of his couch.
  23. Exactly. Sam doesn't play Cornerback, Free or Strong Safety, or Linebacker.
