It’s this. If we are forced to play ball control smash mouth run game every week and throw for 130 yards a game we are in trouble. Best way to fix that is infuse the QB position with actual talent.
Who in the draft would better than Darnold in their first year (2023)? My answer is none as long as they are on the Panthers. We got Jags for pass catcher...Did you see DK, Lockett, and wr3, TEs running routes to get open, coming back for the ball and fightin to hold on? Panthers stone hands and feet pass catcher cant get open or when they do drops them.
Not saying Darnold is good...he is servicable and young. Just get some better coaching with better talents.

We still need that franchise QB. You aren’t winning SB’s with Sam Darnold as your starter.
I would go TE, DE, LB and RB after that
Darnold or any journeyman QB makes sense...and also see what the Rookie can do. Our draft position won't allow us to pick top 2-3 QBs and even if we could they are not as great as the 2023 QBs.
-
Pass catchers...we need that TE from Notre Dame and another WR....I DJ moore would be WR4 for Seattle....maybe...
Pick a QB from later rounds, we are a running team with good D.

Let's see how he plays against Seattle on the road and then here against Pittsburgh. He has earned another start but he just showed he can be efficient and do his job. Good start and confidence booster. He isn't worth a contract yet.
Fair take.

Obviously not serious just ribbing these pro Darnold fans who disappear for months after he's the stastical worst starting QB in years and show back up to crown him after one game. Some people never learn.
We were eating crows and saying it could be because:
1. He is not an NFL starting QB
2. Coaches suck
3. Our oline woes
4. Injuries (him and other player)
We have been saying this, you haters did not listen.

This USC RB is absolutely gashing ND. When you're playing a QB like Williams AND you're getting gashed on the ground it's hopeless.
ND is keying on Williams, not on the SC running...

This class is....muh!
Caleb Williams next year!

Baker was sacked more than Sam last year. He played injured and still had 8 more TD's than Sam.
Here's how Sam does with plenty of OL protection. Watch the first minute:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eeEyl69TccsWasn't Mayfield's Browns favorite to win their division? Or had enough talents to do so? How is this apples to apples?

Is today the day?

Darnold is David Carr incarnate....maybe you could argue in hindsight that he always had journeyman type skills to begin with... ut what he is now, whatever skills he had have broke!
Panther oline is historically bad. Coaching is not far behind.

Matt Barkley come on down. He may not have been here long enough to be ruined.
I said he might be qb1, haha...and the board took my post down. I still believe just start Sam until the drafting a new QB and the line.

Would love to have Teddy about now
Teddy + this coaching staff x oline = poop.

Take away the 64 yarder to DJ and Cam threw for 28 yards.
That was a historically bad day for an NFL QB
One thing I am convinced of is that this coaching staff will make Tom Brady look like poo if they are given a chance...

Darnold looking in NOW saying "hmm...maybe it wasn't ALL my fault after all?"
(thanks for the 2 week bump there, crowntownpanther)
Some coaches with right players make college game work in the NFL...Rhule-Brady can't...with Sam or Cam ...certainly not with PJ.

The Panthers were finalizing a deal for Stafford when he basically said no and got LA to boost their offer.
However, what if he was our QB right now. What do you think our record would be with this defense?
Even with this Oline I think we’d make the playoffs.
Would your opinion of Tepper Rhule and Fitts be different if their efforts to get
Carolina Lions....

This offense ... as a boy band would be the antithesis of Ensync. They are at best the backstreetboys or spice girls....everyone sucks! EveryOne!

Round and round of...
Penalty
Bad line play
Bad call
Bad qb play
Repeat.

If a player stinks on one team, but is good on another, what does that mean ?
in Carolina Panthers

No, he threw up 40/60 ball in favor of the defense and wr fought and caught it. Unlike wrs here.
