  1. I made albondiga soup last night, making arroz con pollo tonight. My youngest chose to move to Portland, and I sent this photo - her favorite soup.
  2. You can love and celebrate the big personalities, their joy and charm, and still celebrate the low key guys that are leaders, focused and equally loved by their teammates. I watched CMC on The Herd, when asked about Sam, he said that off the field, he was a regular guy, humble and respectful to everyone. On the field, confident and had command of the huddle. There is more than one way to lead.
  3. My heart goes out to the young man. Out of BYU, he played behind a massive oline of 40 year olds protecting him….now, everyone is big, fast and strong. Bet on injured and out for a few more games….ouch.
  4. The Panthers glorious defense is getting tons of love on sports media! Think of the past two games, and this one, as a chance for the offense to gel (especially the oline) and for the OC to open up the playbook. Let the D take charge, while their teammates on the other side of the ball keep building on their development together.
  5. Good thing the Bills thought an interception/inaccurate prone QB, from a small school in the Mountain West conference - that couldn’t even win that conference, or defeat a Power 5 school…..was worthy enough to draft in the first round and build around him. Guess a raw QB with skills can shine with good coaching, building an offense around a QB actually works.
  6. I just want to add this part….Sam is much different with his teammates than he is in front of the media. He’s not comfortable with attention focused on him, he’s the ultimate team player. He has a great, quiet sense of humor - sarcasm, and dry wit, remaining down to earth. Highly competitive and his teammates know it. This is gathered from his USC days, which we saw and personally heard out of the mouths of his teammates, same things read from his Jets teammates. Low key or not, he has a remarkably great number of close and loyal friends he’s had for years. How many of us can say that?
  7. I love these old school D coaches….and man, did he and his guys deliver!
  8. The oline is bad at run blocking, good enough pass blocking. IMO, that has to improve to help all the RBs to excel and minimize wear and tear and injury. I worry about CMC.
  9. Not very good, highly ranked that didn’t live up to potential at the college level. Cool headed though.
  10. Hey…it can happen the other way too….on a flight to Florida from L.A., I had a nice window seat, when a young man (looked like he could have been a DT at one time) had the middle seat. He looked so uncomfortable, I felt bad for him, I switched seats. Poor kid almost cried. I’m a mother first, before anything. I ended up snoozing for a bit with my head against his shoulder, lol. Sweet, grateful and well brought up young man.
  11. It’s the only way Sam will learn. “Yeah you can say whatever you want to him, he's great about that," Gase explained. "I think he likes it better when you're a little aggressive with him. So I think the first time that I actually raised my voice, he was like 'About time you started getting on me a little bit.'"
  12. I’ve already watched this about four times!
  13. Haha, think he was gesturing a handoff….all a QB has to do with CMC.
  14. I do remember the 2018 game vs Houston (Jets home game)….Sam played very well against them with Watson and Hopkins on offense. He played them toe to toe till Hopkins took over the game and the Jets defense crumbled. The kicker missed two XPs, a RB fumbled…except for Robby, how many names on that Jets team do you recognize? Texans won 29-22. That was the game when you heard JJ Watt and Clowney praise Sam right after the game (it was posted on Twitter), you could hear JJ tell Sam that he was going to be a great player in this league. So did several of the 49ers defensive guys after that loss in CA. https://www.footballdb.com/games/boxscore/houston-texans-vs-new-york-jets-2018121502
  15. Close your eyes, my dear….it’s in Sams’ DNA to make those throws, he and his WRs are capable of cashing in on them. You can’t attempt those throws with mediocre receivers, thankfully he has great offensive weapons now, and he had the mental makeup to bounce back (lost in NY), hopefully he still has that ability to shake off an error to drive back on the next series. That defense….good lord, what QB wouldn’t be salivating for that dominating performance. Against a QB and offense on the opposing team. Fingers crossed, this can be a very, very exciting team to watch.
  16. Hey, who wouldn’t turn down FREE crab legs? https://www.orlandosentinel.com/sports/florida-state-seminoles/os-jameis-winston-crab-legs-ncaa-20150421-story.html
  17. Don’t have an issue with him getting injured? I don’t know much about him I’m afraid, save the negative stuff, such as not diving for the ball to recover a fumble in the SB. I read he was afraid (understandably) of getting injured, due to past injuries.
  18. My favorite Jameis moment (sorry, never watched him much at FSU or the pros)….all the smack they were talking about PAC defenses, lol. Good player, but when he gets pressured, hilarity ensues.
  19. I’m not talking about the runs themself, it’s that Sam lowers his shoulder to make a tackle while running…..he had to be told to slide, several times.
  20. He’s gotten in trouble at SC and one of the Jets coaches for running like a linebacker, and not a QB, lol. also….just to post a few https://www.nfl.com/videos/sam-darnold-takes-zone-read-in-for-physical-td-run
