  1. What do you expect from the ignorant buffoon? Doubt Newton gave a damn. Every QB that has ever played the game gets crapped on by media and former players. Can’t be a man and be sensitive to that clownish comments.
  2. Bradshaw is just dumb as rocks…..seriously, add concussions….
  3. Oops, meant to quote Harbingers above! “People have such a warped view of food culture. Don’t get me wrong some really good “Tex-Mex”, Italian American or Chinese American cuisine can be delicious. But to simply think that’s the native food of an entire country as a whole is mind boggling. Immigrant chefs fit the food to meet the very… bland or should we say unadventurous… palate of western people and over time it became, very wrongly, synonymous with the country of origin. But that is no where close to the food of many home countries and hardly anybody is willing to take a step outside their comfort zone and actually truly embrace real cultural food.” Edited 1 hour ago by Harbingers
  4. Totally agree! Had some of the best good off a food truck in Ventura which was a fusion of Korean and Mexican food….so good! In such a diverse state as CA, you get the opportunity to eat, and learn to cook different cuisines from the native people themselves. You’d love to attend a tailgate at USC, you’d find lamb on a spit, Greek style, meat in every type of seasoning, our large Polynesian community cook some of the best food you’ve ever eaten, Italian, I’ve even made canard l’orange (half cooked at home, finished off at the TG) and of course, every region of Mexico. After game….bacon wrapped hot dogs, tortas (Mexican sandwich) made with carne asada from the TG to carry into the game!
  5. I’m of Mexican descent, and those people have bastardized our food, culture and music, “dumbed it down”. Ugh, we don’t use tortillas for everything, and I clearly don’t like mixing cuisines. There are as many different regional foods in Mexico, as there are in this country, they couldn’t even get the one region they copy right. Where I come from, there are farmers markets/roadside vegetable stands, on almost every day of the week….and we don’t overcook, nothing worse than limp, overcooked vegetables!
  6. God I hate Texas….their loud, obnoxious people, their hideous tex-mex slop, their grating drawl and their idea that everything in this country is Texas centric. Tyron is good tho, better once the stench of that foul place is gone.
  7. This is a pretty good read, if you’re interested. Explains a lot. https://dailytrojan.com/2017/03/29/living-dream-sam-darnold-went-usc-fan-trojan-hero/
  8. It’s those basketball moves….from his friend, QB Josh Allen, The Athletic: Josh Allen likes to brag on Sam Darnold. The Buffalo Bills quarterback, who trains with Darnold near the latter’s Southern California home in the offseason, remembers the time Darnold matched Golden State Warriors Klay Thompson, one of the best perimeter snipers in NBA history, nearly shot for shot during a friendly shootaround game a few years ago. Allen describes Darnold’s spirals in terms that almost defy the laws of physics and says Darnold is an up-and-comer on the golf course less than two years after he took up the sport. When these tales of sporting achievements were relayed to Darnold, the Panthers’ new quarterback downplayed the mano-a-mano shootout with Thompson and sought to debunk the golf myth entirely — while also taking a good-natured jab at Allen. “I don’t know who told you that. Josh definitely didn’t tell you that,” Darnold said. “I’m not good at all. He’s better than me, but I wouldn’t say he’s good by any means.” Allen isn’t the first person to rave about Darnold’s well-rounded athleticism. He starred in three sports at San Clemente High and famously agreed to join his sister, Franki, in a doubles volleyball tournament despite having never played. The two wound up placing in the tournament. “Sam’s an athlete,” said former Panthers quarterback Will Grier, who played golf with Darnold in the spring. “He probably plays every sport, and he’s good at it. Good at everything he does, one of those kind of guys.”
  9. Lol, no. I think we’re talking two extreme genres and musical styles. The “do good” part of these hip hop/rap stars is in their private life….starting and coaching kids football league for kids that could not normally afford to play sports, or another donating millions to start a music academy at USC, and then opening up a new high school to partner with the academy. https://news.usc.edu/187803/lausd-jimmy-iovine-andre-dr-dre-young-new-high-school/ These are good things, admirable things.
  10. Guess I’ve always been a big fan of defense and the Big Uglies on offense. Had an opportunity to see four HOF linemen play live in the Coli, and even more on the other side of the stadium…like John Hannah (Alabama), etc…I value a great offensive line, not only for the QB, but all skill players on offense.
  11. It’s your right to object…..I hate, hate, HATE country music (except Chris Stapleton), talk about fingernails down a chalk board, plus growing up in a small agricultural town in SoCal, the only people that listened to that crap, weren’t very nice people. Things change, some stigmas don’t.
  12. Nope, meant the kid in NY has a better line than Sam had while in NY. I think KungFoodude is right, scheme covers up how poor the line is. Think Ryan K was right about Jets/Gase stunting a QBs growth. Panthers coaches are scheming to compensate for the poor line. “It was a system that didn’t allow a lot of individual freedom. It was very, ‘You do it this way and that’s it.’ A lot of the scheme was pre-determined (plays) based on what they thought they were seeing from the sideline. It didn’t give Sam a lot of room to grow, in my opinion, to make decisions on the fly. It worked in some instances, but it handicapped him in the long run. It wasn’t a system that allowed him to evolve and make decisions on his own. I think that was the hardest thing. And I think that’s why ultimately the Jets made some (coaching) changes, too.”
  13. Maybe, just maybe, Sam’s escapability and under appreciated mobility helps? The kid in NY has a better line than Sam had, yet he can’t stay upright. Maybe I’m wrong, sure you folks will let me know if I’m wrong.
  14. Love, love, love it. These artists have done a lot for the communities they live in, using their platform to help at risk kids participate in sports, higher education and after school programs. I have a lot of respect for them.
  15. Ok…..I laughed, good thing I had already swallowed my coffee.
  16. The last thing I worry about is the defense……that offensive line against the Dallas D, nightmares.
  17. At least it’s all fresh, healthy (for fast food), grew up with the surfer boys, athletes, and other “my body is a temple” guys eating there right off the beach. Home, and that place is sooooo California.
  18. Ventura boardwalk. Better yet, rather than a beer….a double double with animal fries….
  19. Ventura, now Spring Hill, TN. Miss home so much….don’t get me wrong, very nice here, but it will never be home. used to walk here every day….
  20. Their long time training camp is in a city by my home - the armpit of Ventura County, Oxnard. You take your life in your hands attending practices, their “fans” look like gangbangers, seedy people. I’ve only seen photographs in the local paper, never risk driving by if I had to. Sam and Robby have beat them before, hope it happens again. Shut up their phony cowboy fans.
  21. How could anyone think this wasn’t ridiculous stupid looking?
  22. Come on, be fair to the kid. He’s getting the Sam mismanagement with the Jets treatment. I think he would be doing much better if the Panthers had drafted him…..the oline wouldn’t help him one bit, but that defense, and skill weapons……you’d see a much different QB.
  23. Hey…if Sam plays well against Dallas, the Panthers can look to trade Sam for more than they traded for him…….and bring up the real QB, the star, PJ.
