  1. How can a player be “babied” who refuses to make excuses for himself, and takes all the blame, never his teammates or coaches? Even in that NY hellhole? Don’t make him sound soft and coddled, when he’s anything but.
  2. it’s those basketball player moves.
  3. Interestingly, Carson Palmer thinks Sam is a lot like him. Carson with a stronger arm, Sam more mobile. Same quiet leadership, likes to be one of the guys, respectful of everyone.
  4. There should be no issue, but since when does an agenda require a valid issue? Points are points. you and I know Sam has never been a running QB, but he is a mobile QB who appears to be taking what the defense is giving him….and for the last four games, those defenses have given him open lanes to run in TDs. He looks to me like he’s gliding them in, not bulldozing his way in.
  5. Love it. I now live in a land locked state, don’t know if I trust the sea food here. Have to find out where to buy good Spanish chorizo and a high grade of saffron. It takes me a good part of the day to get it all together…the clams, scallops, shrimp, crab and lobster would be very costly down here. Enjoy.
  6. Believe me, we’ve also heard from UofSC fans….how their school is older, “the real USC”, etc….I won’t post here what our response has been, but needless to say, being an older university is the only thing they can claim over us. Even that is debatable, since South Carolina opened and closed numerous times under different names. We’ve played football longer as well, especially as a national program.
  7. No, no. Tennessee Vols! I irritated several people when I said, UT to us (WC) is the Texas Longhorns.
  8. Most of my house is a Woman Cave, and a designated area of Cardinal & Gold autographed footballs, helmets, posters, books (32), game DVDs, flags, prospectus’ going back decades with game programs, and an area in the garage of USC tailgate equipment I dragged here all the way from SoCal, lol. Suppose most (equipment) can be used for camping, if I liked to camp. Good thing, all I see around here is this gawd awful orange.
  9. I’m not either, momma should have taught her daughter better….you would think she’d (mom) keep her mouth shut and draw the family around her daughter till it goes away, or media loses interest. Incidents like that is why I’ve never drunk or put myself in stupid situations. Mama taught me that.
  10. What a rich, privileged life you lead. Surrounded by brilliance, scented candles and things you can’t touch because they’re for show/company.
  11. Colin is a front runner, so aside from Sams’ resurgence, he isn’t stupid. He sees what is happening with the ownership, coaches and the promise of a young team on the rise. The Panthers gave Colin the chance to say “I told you so” about his claims that it was the Jets, not Sam, lol. He loves being right.
  12. Does it matter? The more national attention, the better…..maybe started with Sam, but it will end up focused on the Panthers.
  13. This has to be the major reason they wanted a vet QB vs a drafted rookie. They couldn’t get the seasoned vet, so they got the young kid with lousy NFL experience. The battering rams on defense get a chance to have a feast on the QB. It is smart to pump up the D though, that can be strengthened right away……the offense was able to score enough points to win, even with a subpar oline, but the defense can’t give up 38 points.
  14. Good for them, being away from home is a great sadness…..and it can hit you hard at times, till you go back.
  15. Fitterer is a gutty little Bruin, alright.
  16. Good offensive linemen are very rarely traded. Best to draft them high, but development is just as rarely immediate.
  17. Haha, I temper my praise and what I feel about Sam’s’ talent and potential, because I know I’m just a little too close to homerism in my opinions of his talent and potential. I love this kid dearly, as a man more than anything…..and no, not related or know him personally, but I know others that are very close. Our former players founded their own football alumni club in 1956 (they even award two scholarships to selected former players pursuing an advanced degree), their club is very powerful and vocal, and one of the traditions they started, was that they wanted the players closer to the fans, so Salute to Troy was started so the players could sit and mingle with the fans for a BBQ, I’ve attended everyone, going back decades, so had the chance several times to talk to Sam. There are other functions throughout the year. Players are encouraged interaction with the fans and media the moment they step foot on campus. They also wanted our band (annoying to everyone else) to travel with them to every away game. So…my support of Sam goes well beyond the FB field, but equally passionate about his talent on the field. Simply because I don’t come in gangbusters, doesn’t mean I’m less supportive. Come in respectfully, gauge “the room” and listen to the fans on this forum, learn from them. I have no right to come in any other way.
  18. Years and years on message boards, as a moderator and just a member, I know. Some people need to get over that pubescent girl crap, and just discuss football and share knowledge in what they are seeing during the games. We follow our guys in the NFL on our message boards as well, under threads titled “Projans” every week during games, or any tweets or news about them. You may find it hard to believe, but although we love our guys, we’ve also said some of the things you’ve said. This blind homerism is not productive, and leads to nothing but members turning on each other. This site is actually pretty balanced and fair, there is good and bad to every players game, and we’re here to freely discuss it.
  19. Dude, you be you. This type of discussion and critique is what I’m here for, we always want to be better, why not the players that play for the team we love? I checked on the Jets board several times in his time there, and they were even making fun of his looks. Sad to read how petty and miserable some people are.
  20. You don’t have to worry, we’ll make another huge coaching blunder, but it won’t be him. Hearing they wouldn’t touch him with a 10 foot poll…..so many, many reasons, now this.
  21. His personal stuff also got him fired, it was brewing…the losses were just the excuse they needed. Our big donors (FB) are the same donors that donate to academics, with their names on buildings and schools, they were not happy with Lane or Sarks shenanigans. While football is very important, the money is chump change compared to fundraising and research…millions (FB) vs billions (fundraising), and for the first time in almost 40 years, that has fallen due to alumni/donors angry about all the scandals, refusing to donate more. In that sense, football will never be king.
  22. Spit out my coffee, lol. Scores only because he’s a FB coach, and he was in a place where every woman in the state wears buckeye jerseys. Don’t trust those thin lips and beady eyes……
  23. Lane also got left on the tarmac at LAX, Sarkisian fired after a drunken, exploitive rant (I was there) at an alumni function.
  24. Playing linebacker helps, same as WR. Also, being a star basketball player, baseball player…. “The more you know….”
  25. Isn’t all that tied in with the character stuff? That creature has more baggage than I had on my first extended trip back in the 70s when I took everything I owned. A hellava lot.
