  1. Didn’t look like it Sunday. Just sayin’
  2. I’m sorry…but almost choked on my coffee laughing.
  3. I used to tell my young staff members, which holds true for almost anything in life….it’s easier to build a good reputation, than repair a bad one. Sam needs to work doubly hard to change that perception. He has weapons, and a kick butt defense now.
  4. That defensive play was a thing of beauty…..so fun to watch. Poor Jameis must have had nightmares last night. Now, if the oline improves in run blocking so CMC can do his thing on the ground……aye, chihuahua!
  5. Lots of credit to your DC, and the other coaches on defense: https://www.nfl.com/news/matt-rhule-on-why-panthers-didn-t-pick-qb-in-draft-i-just-believe-in-sam-darnold Rhule likes what he's seen enough from Darnold for the rebuilding Panthers to trade for him. "We were sitting there one day on defense, and I can't remember (exactly) what we were watching, we were watching a cut up, and Sam was playing on the other side of the ball, and a couple times he made some throws, and Phil Snow, our defensive coordinator, was like, 'Man, that kid looks like Matt Stafford.' And so, we put a couple games on – and this is the defensive staff -- and they were all like, 'You know what, every game we watch, he makes a couple of big-time plays, and there has to be some meat on the bone there,' " Rhule said. "So, kind of went through the process and kept watching him and going back and watching him in college and watching his pro day and then going back and watching his first year in a different offense and the second year and his third year. When the compensation was enough where we didn't have to give up what we thought was too much that [it] would hurt our team and a chance to get him here, we'd watched so much tape on him that we saw enough shining moments."
  6. So much BS. Agents and coaches looking to get more money from their franchises or universities. No one has been offered. My friend’s USC site and WeAreSC just merged with One3. He’s very connected to USCs’ athletic program, his father is in the USC Athletics HOF as a writer, so if he says all these hypothetical offers are BS, they’re BS.
  7. We just renovated the stadium, immediately after gaining control of the stadium….millions of dollars worth of renovation. Since it is a historic site, SC had certain guidelines, but they managed a significant upgrade within those guidelines. Amazing that so many parents of wealth, fame, national and international industry leaders and diplomats send their children to that school 1 or 2 bus stops away from Compton. All students get free Uber, and buses run from SC to the Staples Center. The new 800 million USC Village is self contained with a Trader Joe’s, Wahlburgers and other restaurants and retail shops. USC has a lower crime rate than UCLA.
  8. Colin did his own stereotyping, I’m simply repeating what he said. On one of his shows, dumping on Mayfield, he detailed why he liked athletes that were regular guys, no drama, just go out there and play, he mentioned that he ways raised by a “prim and proper” English mother who didn’t put up with that nonsense. His words.
  9. His mother is English. Prim and proper….don’t know what happened to Colin, but he doesn’t like “me guys”, or attention whores…..his idea of where that falls.
  10. I know, his loud hyperbole drives me nuts….like that tiny red headed guy also drives me nuts….that Skip guy.
  11. I don’t bet, so I defer to you. Suppose he likes the Browns, in spite of Mayfield.
  12. I watched his show last night because Carson Palmer was on. He (Colin) was talking about how the Browns were primed to win now, and all the talent they have. He thinks - as he has stated ad nauseam, that Baker is holding them back. Liking the team, and disliking their QB, are two separate issues.
  13. *Sigh* Colin loves Sam, and USC, and so much wants to be proven right about his unwavering opinion that Sam will be an elite QB, given a chance. Colin takes after his England born mother, he doesn’t like flamboyant or mouthy QBs…..hence for his strong dislike of Baker Mayfield. I tune him out most of the time, so have no idea if he acted the same regarding Cam. Take his opinions with a huge Boulder of salt.
  14. While with the Jets, Sam had zero run game, weapons that couldn’t separate other than Robby, putrid coaching, suspect defense…….and of course, Sam’s boneheaded decisions under constant pressure. Zero excuses now, it’s his job to help his oline. Hopefully, he’ll settle down playing for a team with so much potential to help him settle down and trust his weapons. Thank God, especially, for CMC.
  15. The excerpts points out that you never say a program will never be relevant again. Of course, he (Saban) made the right choice, someone like Saban would hate L.A., the media demands and all that Coach Carroll did to win the city over, like starting “A Better L.A.” and his endless energy and charisma. 2000, Alabama couldn’t bring in a 4 or 5* recruit if the knocked one over the head and dragged them on campus. Things changed, their history was just too powerful to be down long.
  16. I would cease attending games if that happened…what a disgusting amoral man. AD just said this…. Bohn’s criteria for the next coach As for what characteristics he’ll be looking for in the next head coach of the Trojans, Bohn didn’t hesitate. “No question, it’s leadership, high integrity, character, the ability to connect with young men,” Bohn said. “As you all know, our vision is to be the most student-athlete-centered program in the country. So we want somebody that understands the [connection] with young men that are part of this program. And the ability to recruit and bring high-quality character people to USC. And again, to pursue championships.” Coach Rhule fills all the above, but it will never happen.
  17. USC most definitely can…..alums and boosters want a winner, and USC is one of the top billionaire producing universities in the world. Get them fed up enough, they COULD do it……will they? They care too much about academics, fundraising and buying more and more land and adding more schools. Your response was “can’t pay”, that’s far from true.
  18. Haha. I remember in 2008 on the old ESPN National board (all P5 conference teams represented) Florida and other SEC fans were saying that Alabama would never be relevant again. They would never be relevant again. We (SC fans) suggested that they should never claim a traditional blue blood program would be not relevant forever. Wish I had screen shots of those remarks. You make a mistake by thinking that USC will never return. Jimmy Sexton, case in point. “According to Dr. Saturday, a YahooSports! college football blogger, Nick Saban could have had the USC head coaching job in 1997. He turned it down on the advice of his agent, Jimmy Sexton, who told him: Sexton added that, "to this day," Saban reminds him of the USC comments. "Every time they're No. 1 or No. 2 or No. 3 in the country, he looks at me and says, 'Jimmy, you still think Southern Cal can't win anymore?'''
  19. Really? Do a little research on the history between USC AD Bohn and Bienimy while at Colorado. The school cannot afford to have another HC with drinking problems, women beaters and arrests. In his case, it was 20 years ago, it’s behind him, I hope. Can’t take the chance with all the bad publicity the school has had. Besides, the school is looking for a coach with HC experience. Names thrown out there by agents looking to boost their clients salaries. Also, Franklin…he was out coached by the guy they just hired, and Sam Darnolds’ performance. There will be a lot of names out there that will never be offered or looked at. *Addendum: as I posted before, the school was very interested in Coach Rhule, we’d love him, but it’s an impossible dream. He checks all the boxes for us.
  20. It’s sickening. I’m white, from a multiracial family, and I see it…because I care to, and I love all my family. I came of age during the Civil Right Movement, but it seems nothing has changed.
