Very true, but Sam did play linebacker before he was a QB. There is video out there, in college and with theJets, where he has laid out a defender. Being an athlete isn’t enough….knowing how to tackle could help.

I don’t care about QB stats - wins count, the only thing that counts. If Sam doesn’t turn the ball over, moves the chains, gets the ball to his playmakers, who cares if the TDs are passing or rushing.

QBs are usually held to a different standard…..WRs are the ones that are flamboyant, and tend to be drama queens. Not QBs.

Yup, when Pete Carroll left for Seattle, his first few years were filled with Trojans, the fans weren’t pleased….till one of the guys he picked up in the 7th round won the MVP in their Super Bowl win. It’s familiarity, they also try for the guys they recruited and missed out on. The draft is a crap shoot, so they tend to go with guys they know. It stops after a few years.

I don’t understand why anyone would buy an NFL jersey. Few players retire from the team that drafts them, or even traded to…if I had to buy a jersey, it would be from a player that was in the franchise ring of honor, or ended up in the ProFB HOF from your team. I have two, autographed and framed on my wall, but they’re college jerseys with no names on the back.

I think you’re on the right tract now. Your GM was working against the QB rookie contract before he could fix the culture, the oline and draft some receivers. Looks like Wilson will have a much better surrounding cast, including coaching, so he has a chance to succeed. Don’t screw up my boy, AVT….how is Chuma doing?
