  1. I was upset when we did not take a LT in the 2nd Round. We traded back twice and added picks instead and then got T. Marshall. It is not what I would have done, but I'm at home sitting on my sofa so...not really my choice. I can't really argue this one way or another now. I will wait and see if Scott or Christensen (or anyone else turns into a serviceable LT). As we get to the season some of us will have facts to back up our speculations. I am personally hoping that I was wrong and these guys know better than I...I wonder if Tepper will call me up if Darnold gets sacked 45 times this year and Marshall goes on IR after week 1? (I'd really like 6 or 7 figures to do what I do in here for my profession...I mean I was an unpaid assistant volunteer coach for a 1A program)
  2. This is an old video from 2018, but it demonstrates why CMC won't come off the field much. Examples of his Pass Pro abilities start at the 5:25 mark.
  3. I agree mostly. I do not think CMC will see fewer snaps, i do think that he will get fewer carries, with Chuba picking those up. I see him flexed out wide or in the slot quite a bit to spread the defense out. Honestly, the only way I see him taking less snaps barring injury is if Chuba or another rotational RB really learns how to pass protect. I think that's what keeps him in all the time b/c he's not only our best runner and receiver out of the backfield- he's our best pass protector at RB also.
  4. Right now our odds to make the Super Bowl are +2200 (+5000 to win it). Those aren't the best odds. But if you are sure and want to make some money go to Vegas and put down some cash. You will get a pretty good return if you are right.(BTW- I'm not advocating Gambling) I am just saying I wouldn't roll those dice, but I am hoping you are right and hit it big if you decide to.
  5. What about LG? Is Pat the Elf a shoe-in or a versatile back up? Can one of the rookies (Deonte, David or Brady if not at LT)win that job? What about Daley?
  6. We've talked about nearly everything (Who will play FS, the Oline, QBs, Receiving Corp, Most of the Draft Picks, etc...) The thing I've been wondering is who will take most of the snaps as our traditional Nickel Corner (Not Joker or Buffalo). Corn Elder got 400 plus snaps there last year there, but Hartsfield started getting looks there at the end of the year. I've heard a few people in here (and in a few news outlets) comment about Troy Pride or Donte taking that spot over but I'm not sure either of them are good enough tacklers to play that role consistently (maybe in certain matchups only). Who will get the majority of those snaps this year has our traditional Nickel Corner? Who wins that battle in camp?
  7. It passes the time- I enjoy some of the things I read in the huddle, I don't let the nonsense bother me. Some posts are informative, some funny, some are simply BS or trolling. I haven't been on the huddle long enough to see what the posts are like during the season. I am looking forward to it.
  8. Yeah that's accurate--Scho- was very disappointing. He was supposed to be that versatile guy (Play G or T) with experience who was familiar with Pat Meyer, but he did not play well at all. I think Trenton Scott was 2nd Best of those guys (Okung was pretty good but couldn't stay on the field b/c of injury). It didn't help any of them that they had Chris Reed beside them (85% of the time anyway). I hope Elf or one of the rookie's is a better option at LG. It will help Scott, Erving, or Christensen a lot I think.
  9. I really think that is what is going to happen barring injury. I agree with you guys. I think the battle in camp here will decide who is playing LT. If anyone has an edge I would say right now its Trenton Scott, just because Rhule seems to like him and he's the most familiar with the system. If Christensen comes into camp and looks good going against our edge rushers then he may be able to win the job.
  10. Potential Title IX Violations could point to a whole array of things. Without specifics details it easy to assume sexual harassment or something of the sort, but complaints (or violations) could involve and sort of gender bias of the program or school, as well as a student. Without details its hard to know how Dayvion was exactly involved in "whatever", these off the field issues were. I would hope that Rhule and the scouts vetted Dayvion and got more information from the school about what happened than the press did. IF Dayvion plays well and becomes a star you better believe "whatever it was" will come to light sooner or later.
  11. There have been quite a few players, and even more analysts, who have taken their shots at Adam Gase. When it comes to who is to blame for losses and poor performances in football the QB is the face of every franchise and gets most of the praise and blame. It is the coaches, however, who make the choices that put QBs and the whole team in position to win or lose. I Think Sam definitely deserves some of the Blame (everyone on the Jets Team does), but Gase is the guy who brought in a staff and asked them the help the players execute game plans that didn't seem to put his players in position to win many games. The nugget about the Jets that seemed to me to be the most indicative of his poor coaching would be the apparent criticism several jets players (A. Williamson, B. McDougald) gave about practices and how slow and bad practices were (players apparently did not practice hard or with enthusiasm). If players aren't putting in the work- and coaches aren't holding them high standards during practice that will be evident on Sunday.
  12. There's a lot that goes into being placed on that list. My family is praying for TJ and his family. Keep Pounding!
  13. Dean Jones from CatCrave just posted this article about the Pros and Cons of a Robbie Anderson Trade. The link is below. https://catcrave.com/2021/05/28/4-pros-cons-carolina-panthers-trading-robby-anderson/
  14. Hopefully they'll have a big year together in Brady's offense---winning games and scoring TDs will help them get along I bet.
  15. Yeah...It could be part of the Road Uniforms we use when we play in Buffalo or Green Bay.
  16. You'll see a lot of what I'm talking about (from the previous post) in these highlights. The packers respect Robbie's speed too much so these plays are often open. It should be the same with us.
  17. I think Robbie likes Teddy better (They're both S. Florida Boys) based on the interviews, but I'm not sure he actually has concerns about Darnold. Like Sam's, Robbie's production was partially limited by Gase's offense. He seemed to be tasked with a very limited route tree based on what I've seen in NY. I remember there was a lot of talk about how he was able to be a bigger part of the offense (running a more expanded route tree I bet) here in Carolina. The way Brady used him he was able to shed the reputation he had has a "one trick pony". I would like to see him run some of those comebacks, outs and digs like he did in NY on the sideline- He and Sam seemed to be able to connect on those and they were impossible to defend. Its the type of play that would come in handy at the end of games to stop the clock and keep the chains moving.
  18. If you are a betting man (or woman)-Here are the odds to where Julio might end up according to PFF...for what its worth....
  19. Zylstra was the receiver on that play. Charlton threw a good ball with a guy in his face.
  20. Another Marty Hurney Dramatization below: He's on the Phone with Gettleman.
  21. Its not from the team actually (I was referring to the Camp Confidential info). The video and diagram was put together by an independent website that does stuff related to the NFL draft in general not just the Panthers(but it seems to mirror the info gleaned from camp confidential). Sorry about the confusion I should have been more specific.
  22. I think you've hit the nail on the head here. Even early on last year when we weren't getting many sacks we were one of the best teams as far as generating pressure (QB Hits). Burns and the boys just missed on so many of those. Daquan Jones will fill the middle as a run stuffer and Perryman should help there as well. His specialty at SD seemed to be playing downhill and blowing up the run and screen game.
  23. The entire special teams are no doubt important. Its why we brought back J. Stanford and the main reason B. Zylstra has a shot to make the roster again. Its just more noticeable how a kicker or returner performs. A lot of Bubble guys will make the roster based solely on their ability and willingness to contribute on special teams.
  24. What Could Have Been? What we would have given up and gotten is simply conjecture at this point. The Team put this stuff out to justify their choices and maybe help us understand a little bit of what was going on. There is no telling what other deals could have been made at any other point including trading back from #8, but nearly any different choices during the draft would have changed everything after it. It is what it is. Lets roll with it and Keep Pounding!
