  1. A couple of comments from J. Alexander. I wish he'd be a little more specific about who exactly is doing what.
  2. Yeah, and if Ibe keeps it up he'll be in the Safety Room while Grier is at home later this year.
  3. Alaina Getzenberg TE Dan Arnold back at practice this week and fully participating after not attending last week. RB Chuba Hubbard is out of the red jersey and participating. 12:46 PM · Jun 15, 2021·Twitter for iPhone
  4. I see your point about salary and do not disagree with releasing Okung, but I was simply thinking about performance on the field. When on the field Okung was a better option at LT than anything we currently have IMO no matter who wins that battle (at this point in their careers). I agree with you here completely as far as potential goes. Christensen may become a great guard or a pretty good Tackle, Daley is still young has has shown glimpses when healthy--the Brown and Moore from this years draft. Definitely a lot of potential!
  5. They brought back John Miller who started there last year. I focused on positions where we lost last seasons starter. It is true Miller may lose the job in camp but I'm not certain of it.
  6. So here is a list of the potential changes to our starting lineup from last year on offense. I am not listing a complete roster just the changes to the starting lineup based on losses to Free Agency. I am also identifying each change as and upgrade or downgrade IMO- Feel free to tell me What you think about my evaluations! Offense QB- Sam Darnold replaces Teddy Bridgewater (Not Sure- Lots of potential Good and Bad, but I think its at least a slight upgrade) LT- Cam Erving, D. Daley, Trent Scott or B. Christensen replaces Russell Okung/ Trent Scott (Downgrade- I think Okung played pretty well, he just did not play often enough--we have no idea who is going to win this battle so its hard to call it an upgrade) LG- Pat the Elf, Deonte Brown, Dennis Daley, Brady Christensen or David Moore replaces Chris Reed (Slight Upgrade- Reed really struggled I think whoever win this battle will be better) TE- Dan Arnold and Tommy Tremble replace Chris Manhertz and Ian Thomas (Significant Upgrade---everyone knows this position did not help us in many games last season) WR3- David Moore, Terrence Marshall, Shi Smith and whoever else cracks the roster replaces Curtis Samuel (Slight Upgrade- I'm not saying anyone of these guys will produce as much as Curtis did, but I do believe that as a rotation we will get a lot of production from our 3rd and 4th receivers- Marshall will help us in the Red Zone and Moore can get behind defenses and Darnold has the arm to get him the battle. These guys should see a lot of single coverage) FB- Tommy Tremble and Maybe Mikey Daniel or M. Stoke replace Alex Armah (slight upgrade- This was hard for me to call because I liked Armah and he was good in special teams but I really like Tremble ability to move defenders of their spot and his potential to catch passes out of the backfield)
  7. I agree completely plus Manhertz was actually the starter on the depth chart for most of the year--Thomas was #2
  8. I'm assuming we'll keep a young TE rather than Thomas has our #3 TE. Sullivan, Ricci, Thompson or someone else we pickup later to develop. Also if David Moore and Deonte Brown do not break into the lineup i'd assume we'd keep them to develop along the O-line.
  9. I'm cool with it too- Its not like he's hyping up the 49ers during the playoffs or anything.
  10. A continuing story line through the offseason has been who will replace Tre Boston at FS. In various threads of the huddle and many media articles mentioning this Jeremy Chinn has seemed to be the answer that keeps popping up. Burris/Franklin were thought of of as more SS than FS but with the system we ran we didn't really use the traditionally deep FS very much anyway. With the expectation to play more press man to man coverage (Horn, Bouye, Taylor additions) it is possible we see that traditional FS role more often- so for months people have been asking who might do that (we didn't draft a S) and the answer up until now has been Jeremey Chinn. Dix maybe a decent alternative unless Bouye transitions or one of the younger guys step up. The question about Chinn at FS arise from folks who see his skills as better suited for SS, and they may be, but with our current roster he's probably the best option at FS as well as Nickel, SS, and maybe LB. The guy is a stud.
  11. Yep- When Chinn move up to nickel or LB Dix could be in those packages as a FS
  12. Here is the link to the article about this on Panthers.com. Its a pretty interesting piece. Thanks for the post Mr. Scott! https://www.panthers.com/news/steve-smith-sr-panthers-television-analyst-preseason-2021
  13. I think He'll be a big piece of the puzzle- I think he can be what Mario Addison was for us when he was coming off the bench as just part of the rotation (2014ish).
  14. Yes. He started at corner in college. Its true about Reddick playing Corner, but has a traditional LB for the Cards he wasn't anything special in coverage. I think he really struggled when forced into that role. He really took off as a pass rusher when they moved him to that Edge/OLB spot. That is what he is really good at. Its also how he was used at Temple, and why he was drafted.

  16. Yeah- it should have attributed the quote to SBBlue.
  17. Yeah he is a burner. We grabbed him in the 4th round and Stanley Thomas Oliver in the 7th. He had trouble in coverage and some in tacking last season, but it wasn't for lack of effort that I could see. He ran with everyone we asked him to, he just had trouble tracking the ball and playing as physical as he needs to against NFL receivers (at least that's what I saw). He's got plenty of talent just needs to work on technique and mindset a little.
  18. I haven't heard much about Pride yet this year. He was really thrown straight into the fire last season and without any pre-season or offseason to prepare much. Talk about a raw deal. Hopefully being more seasoned with a OTA's and a full offseason to prepare he will step up!
  19. Based on our laws (US Constitution/NC State Constitution) Taxation is not considered a crime. Even Jesus was for paying taxes (Matthew CH. 17 or so). I'm not sure there will ever be a "popular" or "fair" way to decide how taxes will operate. I sure did not enjoy paying mine this year.
