  1. Marshall has loads of talent and experience in Brady's system. I think the later is the major reason we didn't see much of him in OTAs and mini-camp. They are really taking it slow because of his injury and hoping the time he misses on the field won't impact him too negatively since he is familiar with Brady's system. I think Shi Smith may surprise though. I like him a lot.
  2. With his size and hands he could be something. I hope he is healthy and proves the team right for selecting him. A lot folks wanted a LT in the 2nd. Thanks for the spell check!
  3. So I couldn't BOO the commissioner.........
  4. https://www.si.com/nfl/panthers/gm-report/looking-at-who-could-emerge-as-wr3-for-carolina This SI article contemplates who will emerge as our #3 WR. The options they explored were David Moore, Shi Smith, and Terrence Marshall. I like both of the Rookies and they both have talent, albeit very different skill sets. David Moore has shown the ability to make plays and get behind defenses though. Who do you guys think will be our 3rd best receiver this year. One of these guys or maybe someone else like Omar Bayless or Brandon Zylstra?
  5. I think that could be great for Charlotte. I'd love the chance to boo the commissioner too. What would be the downside?
  6. Here are his highlights from 2019 (the 1k +1k year). If he can come back close to that level this year and stay healthy it will make all the difference for our offense---He and DJ and the rest were working with mostly Kyle Allen back then.
  7. This won't be a really hard job if our corners are playing better and our hopefully improved DL is getting pressure on opposing QBs
  8. Yep- You'd think we see a lot more press and man coverage and fewer soft zones. This will overall be better for us in stopping drives but might result in giving up a big play here or there. The last part will largely depend on how well Chinn (or whoever else might be playing deep help) mans the deep safety spot.
  9. Teddy didn't have the arm to hit deep Go routes often so defenses did not give Robby and DJ as much cushion on underneath routes. Darnold hopefully will prove able to launch a few of these and keep defenses more honest. This will also help our run game!
  10. My Predictions; 1. Teddy B. will lose his job as starting QB for the Panthers 2. Our LT play will continue to suck and numerous Huddlers will point this out every week (Me Included) 3. We will play one more game than we did last year, even if we don't make the playoffs 4. Darnold will not start all 17 games this year 5. Our TE's will catch more passes than last year
  11. I think Jeremy Chinn is the Unquestioned starter here. The question is who rotates in or over when he plays up into the box. That's still TBD I think.
  12. I Think Daquan will really help in the run on first downs. He should be more successful at helping stuff the run and keeping us out of 2nd and short.
  13. Darnold can get better. Look at this clip of Jameis- He's getting better- He didn't throw 1 int the whole clip! If he can do it so can Sam!
  14. My 5 Bold Predictions, 1. CMC will end the year with more receiving yards than rushing yards 2. Jeremy Chinn will make the Pro Bowl as a Safety 3. Donte Jackson will lead the NFC in collecting interceptions 4. Joey Slye will make at least one game winning FG 5. Our starting offensive line will have at least 3 new starters by the end of the year (It will be completely reshuffled)
  15. I'm really interested to see exactly how Reddick will be used. His versatility along with the versatility of our defensive players like Fox, Burns, Daviyon, and Chinn will lead to us having lots of options. Phil Snow knows his strengths and Reddick should be familiar with a Phil Snow Defense since they were together with Rhule at Temple. I really like the idea of him as the Sam or Weak-side backer who blitzes off the edge in 4 -man fronts. I think adding him is the main reason we will see Chinn more at safety and why we will use more odd fronts with him and Burns as OLB's rushing off the edge (the 3 DL would be Brown as the Nose and Fox and Yetur (or Daviyon) as the ends. I get really excited when I think about all the different ways our defense could be able to cause havoc for opposing offenses.
  16. A couple of weeks ago I posted a topic where I analyzed presumed changes to the roster on offense due to losses during Free Agency. This post shares my analysis of the changes to the Defense due to losses in Free Agency. Please feel free to comment and let me know where my analysis is flawed. DE Lost Stephen Weatherly---Added Hassan Redick/Morgan Fox Upgrade (I actually think Yetur Gross Matos will start here if he can stay healthy. Weatherly really underperformed last year. I believe Reddick coming off the edge in passing downs (and most odd front looks) and Fox rotating in at times will be a major improvement when combined with Yetur's potential to man the end in the base 4 man front) CB Lost Rasul Douglas and Corn Elder---Added Jaycee Horn, A. Bouye, R. Melvin, and F. Taylor Upgrade (Troy pride actually started on the outside early and in spots later, but Rasul became a starter due to Pride's struggles. Jaycee Horn will most likely start here and as our #1 pick (and first defensive player selected in the 2021 draft) I think he will be a big improvement over either Troy or Rasul. Corn Elder was our major Nickel Defender for part of last season and Bouye has been asked to man that role this year. I'm not convinced that this is a big upgrade because Corn played pretty well, but it could be due to Bouye's size, experience and physicality (when compared to Corn). It all depends on how well he transitions to playing against slot receivers.) DT Lost KK Short and Zach Kerr--- Added Daquan Jones and Daviyon Nixon Upgrade (Zach Kerr played pretty well for us last year when he was moved into the starting lineup. That said Daquan Jones is more of what we need to pair with Derrick Brown and to let our Edge Rushers eat. Daviyon Nixon could turn out to be our biggest draft steal in years if he can mature, stay out of trouble and focus on football) S Lost Tre Boston--- Added maybe Delano Hill ??? (This one is tricky because Delano Hill probably won't make the team, so that'd be a downgrade, but Jeremy Chinn will most likely take the reps at that spot. Chinn at safety would be a big upgrade I think, but we didn't add him this year to take over the spot- he's just growing into I guess. It is possible we add safety help later if Chinn is forced to play a lot of LB again this year...so Boston's replacement might not even be on the roster yet) MLB Lost Tahir Whitehead (Thank you Jesus)--- Added D. Perryman Upgrade (Tahir really struggled as has been well documented. D. Perryman is a real Thumber, and if he can stay healthy will prove to be a big upgrade. If Luvu or Carter have to fill in if he is hurt a still think we have an upgrade at this spot) I Think That's it please post to let me know what you think!
  17. I'm not for resigning Boston either. From everything I've seen we are rolling with Chinn at Safety (FS) when in those packages. It makes the LB depth a little iffy but I think he'll be a upgrade there.

According to this website Hooker has suffered substantial injuries in the past. I'm not sure how accurate the site is and I haven't followed Hookers' career. I'm just putting it out there.
  19. The Lions will accept a trade offer only if it really favors them. They won't give this guy away for peanuts and if a LT goes down somewhere after the start of the season Crosby's value will too. Right now they will probably keep him as a safety valve in case Sewell's transition isn't easy. He's cheap and a very good player. You don't let that go unless you get something worthwhile. If we want him we would have to make a quality offer.
  20. Cam and Elf were two versatile guys who are still relatively young and have the potential to develop into good players----I think they were viewed in much the same way as the staff views Darnold. I really hope the coaching staff can develop the potential they see in these guys, They seem to have a pattern of belief that they can. We will see.
  21. His Agent will push for Trent Scott money, but i'm thinking the contract will be more of the Taylor Lewan size (slightly bigger)....but who knows. I just hope he stays healthy so he can get a decent extension. He deserves it.
  22. David Newton asked H. Reddick to evaluate S. Darnold .....kinda like he did with Phil Snow the other day. Why do they let him ask ?s
  23. Rivera's last Year Daley played some snaps at LT as a rookie. He had his moments early but was exposed as a liability later on in the year. That said he was a rookie and played as well as good be expected probably for a 6th rounder thrown into the fire at that position. Last year he was slated to start at LG in a new system but was banged up and wound up on IR-enter Chris Reed getting most of the starts at that position. Another year passes and Daley is more familiar with the system and is apparent getting some looks at LT again after taking snaps their in OTA's. He will have his shot I think, but its hard to really grade him or any of the offensive linemen until they take snaps with pads on and bullets flying as the saying goes.
