  1. Sheesh...When I did my RB/FB thread I forgot about Spencer Brown. (Sorry Spence) That final WR spot(s)will be a real battle. I doubt Bayless goes to the PS- the FO had doubts about his ability to clear waivers Last Year and if he shows out again it in Training Camp/OTAs will be more of the same. The problem is that neither would Shi Smith and Zylstra might not even if he was eligible for it. I'm not sure Zylstra is safe, especially if one of these guys (or a backup CB, Safety, or RB) proves that they can give about the same level of production as he did on Special Teams. Like you said there is a lot we don't know about some of the other options so there's no telling whether or not one of them might surprise and win a spot.
  2. I'll be one of the teeth gnashers. I agree though. I really like him but Trenton C. has been more useful on Special Teams...I'm not sure why Reggie isn't as well liked unless maybe he has trouble in Pass Pro. He definitely has potential both running and receiving (and even throwing). He played WR, and RB as well as QB at different times at Tenn.
  3. If they are high on them will they risk waivers? These guy will probably run the waivers. Not many teams looking for a FB, and no one really knows he Clarke is- We found him at a tryout in San Diego-He played at Newberry College in SC...so...they'll probably clear.....
  4. I was thinking about this too--We may him see him and Chuba on the field at the same time--They did that a couple of times when he tried to return last year with him and M. Davis. I these instances Chuba could get the carries because its likely CMAC would flex out as a WR (either as a decay or a receiving option in a Run/Pass option play)
  5. I didn't even consider the 17th game. I always wondered if Rhule and Brady would do better than Ron about taking some of the load off CMAC. Since he was hurt early on last year, I'm not sure they had a specific plan in place, but drafting Chuba makes me think they do. I hope so.
  6. My personal thoughts on the RB room are as follows; We do not keep a FB on the roster but stash one on the practice squad (not sure which one) in case Tremble gets hurt. Tremble serves as FB on the plays that call for one (and might even catch a few passes coming out of the backfield). We keep 4 RBs and stash another on the practice squad. The 4 we keep are CMAC, Chuba, Rodney S., and Trenton Cannon (I really like Reggie B, he has stepped up and made plays when given the opportunity, but I think Trenton is familiar in the Outside Zone scheme that was mentioned in another thread- also I remember Reggie being cut last year before being brought back and getting injured). Here is one of Reggie B's big plays after CMAC went out banged up at Jacksonville a couple of years ago:
  7. I think the RB's and what our RB room will look like this season could be a very interesting topic for discussion, even though it doesn't get a lot of coverage. Everybody knows CMAC is the starter and most believe that our #4 pick Chuba Hubbard will be the #2. But following them there are a lot of questions in my mind. Who will be the third tailback option (Reggie B., Rodney S., T. Cannon, D. Clark (UDFA-workout find)? What about FB? We lost Armah but signed 2 in the offseason (Mikey D. and UDFA Mason S.) Will the way we use #3 pick TE Tommy Tremble as a blocker lead to the team releasing both FB's? How many RB's will we keep? If Tremble subs in as a FB, does that save a roster spot or do we keep an extra Tailback? WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK?
  8. This still depends on who you ask--Kobe thought it was--the girl states she asked him to stop several times. The criminal case was dropped, because the girl refused to testify- Kobe issued a statement apologizing, but adamantly claiming he thought she was consenting because of her "body language." Eventually she filed a civil suit and the two sides settled (some newspaper said for nondisclosure and 2.5 mil), but the actual terms were never officially disclosed. My wife is an attorney and follows cases like this so we talked about it quite a bit in my house. Jaycee and lots of kids won't remember the details of that or any of it. It is what it is. He can wear whatever # he wants. I wish him the best, whether Kobe did it or not, Jaycee hasn't done anything wrong. As for DJ's new #, the NFL gave him the option, he can change his # if he wants. I wish him the best too, especially if he signs an extension that's good for the team.
  9. I think Shi Smith could be the Premier KR/PR so that's starting on special teams. Pride may see reps at Nickel Corner early while Bouye is suspended but after that, unless he really shows out, Im not sure he'll see as many snaps as he did last year. The secondary is a lot deeper this year.
  10. No It was against Atlanta--It was posted already I think-Here it is again:
  11. Was this the game where Jake's pants ripped and his butt was hanging out on TV? I had forgot about that. That was so funny!
  12. I really wish I'd have been talented enough to play in the NFL....
  13. It could be kind of a gamble for us. Will Moses be as good a RT for us as Moton was? Will Moton be as good at LT as he was at RT? Its possible...but... I definitely see your point.
  14. Most teams will have this problem at this point- He is still getting paid a little by Washington so He might sign a relatively cheap deal, especially if his phone doesn't start lighting up right away. If none of the few teams with cap space want him he may be available at a discount. I'm not sure How he'd work with Carolina---This would really depend on Moton be able to produce at LT (Honestly he can probably play it as well as the guys we have on the roster right now).
  15. These guys are versatile and fairly athletic- I think they were signed for depth and competition. They fit the mold Rhule likes and if they don't win a starting spot they can backup multiple positions on the line. I think Trent Scott will get every opportunity to be our starter, its obvious Rhule likes him. The Battle between Scott, Christensen, and Erving will be fierce. I'm just hoping we get to start the winner and this competition does get decided based on an Injury (Like with Daley and Reed last year).
  16. I don't think we will sign anyone to "fill holes" but has the offseason programs ramp up and the season gets closer they will be adjustments to the roster. Some people will be cut and others added. A free agent may still be brought in if the guys any of the guys we have aren't pulling their weight or has was previously mentioned, they are injuries.
  17. Steven will get a look because he's a good athlete. If he can learn what the coaches want him to learn and prove useful in some way (Probably not a true QB or TE option) he will make the team. He will be used in special packages that add a little wrinkle to the offense.
  18. 2008-2009 Playoff Loss to the Cardinals. Jake threw 5 Ints, and fumbled once. I was having a party at my house and almost got into a fight with a good friend that was a Card's fan. I kicked him out- Haven't spoken to him since......I was so upset Its my favorite moment because, my (ex)friend's new GF (a Panther Fan) showed up late after he had gone and now she's my wife!. Thanks Jake!
  19. I wonder if NE will give Cam a chance to compete for the starting gig at all? I hope so.
  20. It will probably air on the 24th unless something leaks. DJ's podcast move the sticks is every week, I think, on Mondays.
  21. I t I think Stevens played QB at Miss. St. after transferring from Penn St., He wasn't good enough a QB to get drafted high (NO drafted in in the 6th? or 7th). He is a pretty good Athlete and is viewed in the same way as Taysom Hill (Just really raw). The Saints listed him as a TE, but he is listed as a QB on our roster
  22. I'm not sure if Stevens saves a TE roster spot. If the reports from last year are accurate our coaches did like him because of his versatility though. I'm just not sure, especially with Tremble moonlighting already at other positions, that he'll ever actually line up as a TE. Maybe he can fill in if Arnold, Tremble or Thomas/Thompson get hurt. He still might make the roster as our #3 QB (We kept 3 QBs last year), but I think with the need for TE's to block and potential for injury that we'll keep 3 (real ones not gadget guys).
  23. I really like Alaina too. She puts in the work it seems. She was quick to answer a question I had about one of her articles awhile back. I used Twitter and sent her a message and she responded with a humble and smart reply. I doubt most other reporters would have even bothered...
  24. Rhule said as much in one of the recent press conferences. He said they wanted to find their five starters and then make sure the backups are as versatile as possible in case he has to "Shuffle the Deck" because of injuries later.
  25. Ian Thomas could be the #3, but I think he'll go based on the info provided above. Colin Thompson (a Temple Guy) will be a lot cheaper (any other options at TE#3 would be too)
