  1. I don’t think so either. The damage that could be caused by Rhule trying to “win now” next year could be bad enough to hinder us for a decade. The easiest solution now is to bring in a staff that can win with this roster and the limited capital we have this offseason. Not allow Rhule to further drive away players, spend cap, trade picks, etc. I don’t think Rhule would have fired Brady if he didn’t feel pressure. He has said he doesn’t believe in firing assistants. I think this was more of “you need to show me something these next 5 games” and Rhule fired Brady and put Nixon in because he trusts him. If it works good, his friend is his coordinator. If it doesn’t he’s probably fired and won’t have to replace his coordinator/buddy if he sucks the next 5 games because he’s gone too. Rhule just put all his chips on the table.
  2. Almost Certain: 1. Matt Nagy (CHI)- This was talked about last season looks like it’s time. 2. Joe Judge (NYG)- Dumpster fire, mixed with high expectations of New York Media/Fans. 3. Vic Fangio (Den)- Pretty bad last two seasons. Playoffs could save him but that’s thin. 4. Rich Bisaccia (LV)- After the Gruden firing, this guy is likely a placeholder. There’s a team there that Mayock and Gruden built, just needs a captain. Mark Davis will find some high profile guy for the role. I suspect Daboll. Likely: 5. Mike Zimmer (MIN)- Has been there 8 years, not much to show for it. Missing playoffs almost solidifies it. 6. Brian Flores (MIA)- Was almost certain a few weeks ago but has taken the Dolphins on a win streak. Many in Miami believe if he doesn’t make the post season he is out. A lot to blame on personnel too with blown draft picks. 7. David Culley (HOU)- Hard to see him going after just one year but it’s been a bad one. Not having the franchise QB playing shouldn’t count against him but there are a lot of people in the Houston media saying he’s not a fit and want him out. 8. Urban Meyer (JAC)- Complaining about FA process, Bar incident, Trevor Lawrence disagreeing with him on the James Robinson decision probably puts an end to it. Is his first year and a slight chance he sticks around again. Knowing his past jobs, wouldn’t be surprised if he left on his own. 9. Matt Rhule (CAR) See Huddle threads for the past month. Possible: 10. Dan Campbell (DET)- Guy has an attitude everyone seems to like, and it’s also a rebuild. Likely gets another year but they are also 1-10-1 and only scored more than 20 points once this year. 11. Kevin Stafanski (CLE)- Lots of rumblings that he’s lost the locker room and team is middle of a fall-out. 12. Mike Tomlin (PIT)- Not likely, probably just need a new QB and a rebuild. Tomlin has been there over 15 years. Pittsburgh don’t go through HCs but it could be the end of an era. 13. Nick Sirianni (PHI)- Has the Eagles looking better. Bit of a dumbass in press conferences. Seen by a lot of the Eagles fans as a rushed hire after the Pederson firing last year. Likely to stay but still possible. 14. Arthur Smith (ATL)- Probably gets another year but the Falcons are almost worse off than us. 15. Kyle Shanahan (SF)- Hasn’t done much since the SB loss. Probably keeps his jobs but these last 5 games depend heavily on that I imagine. Retirements: 16. Pete Caroll (SEA)- Will be 71 next season. Rumors are Paul Allen’s widow isn’t happy with the team’s direction. 17. Bruce Arians (TB)- Will be 70 next season. 18. Bill Belichick(NE)- Will be 70 next season. Now I’m not expecting all of this to happen but I would say 50% and that would be 9 openings. I remember a couple years ago when their were 8 openings and NFL media made a big deal because it was 25% turnover of head coaches. Tepper may need to consider letting Rhule go early soon to get a leg up on the search or just go ahead plan on having him around next season to avoid getting scraps.
  3. We need a big bodied receiver in the mix. Or a TE that can get vertical and go up for passes. These guys ain’t got any fugging hands. Can anybody recall us throwing a high or back shoulder fade in the red zone since Rhule got here?
  4. Y’all are all on next year, I’m thinking about 2023..
  5. Pickett reminds of more of a Justin Herbert
  6. Saints of the last decade are gone. It’s time for them to go back to the basement where they belong. The Bucs are running out of time with Arians and Brady. Pretty soon it’ll be us and Atlanta again, like it’s supposed to be. ...If we can find a HC
  7. No. He hires Eberflus, Hackett or Daboll he wins. Stay away from the wild card hires! My gut tells me he will get a wild hair in his ass and hire some odd ball.
  8. I’m pretty sure I red somewhere Anderson and Reddick were pain in the asses in the locker room. Building a team is more about talent, it’s about the players too. Cam nailed it.
  9. Yeah I was there we lost 20-7. We wore the blues.
  10. Jake was 8-3 against the Saints
  11. It was hard for me to watch the Perry Fewell games but I still did just with little anticipation or excitement. I look at it this way. If we win, we have a shot at the playoffs. If we lose, we are a step closer to getting a different coach.
  12. Imagine that. Rhule will have us winning the MAC or Mountain West conference before you know it.
  13. We should have traded him for cousins.
  14. Read this article from this Vikings writer trying to convince the fan base to hire Joe Brady halfway through the season. https://zonecoverage.com/2021/minnesota-vikings-news/what-are-the-wilfs-waiting-for-get-joe-brady-on-the-horn/
  15. Because there wasn’t as many stupid decisions. Like there are always times where the armchair GMs are like “boo” and there turns out to be a reason why the team did it later and it’s like “ah okay” . But the armchair GMs are actually making more sense than the team. I mean we had Cam, Luke, OL was better than this one-not great. But we were competitive in about every game, just a mistake here or there. This looks like Fido’s ass.
  16. Yeah I mean that didn’t make sense to me either. I mean I don’t really think Pay Meyer should be working on the red zone play calling or Sean Ryan on the two minute and blah blah blah. 1 game plan from the OC. Everyone has their part to execute within their positions. No wonder it looks like a circus out there. Sean Ryan running the spread offense at the goal line and Pat Meyer running the Power I on 3rd and long. Here comes Frisman Jackson with the route trees for 2 minute.
  17. I wanted McCarthy. Wasn’t super on the McDaniels bandwagon but wasn’t against it either
  18. Give me Dorsey gonna be a winner.
  19. No. Give me Matt Eberflus, Ken Dorsey at OC, and Dave Borgzoni at DC and let’s go win a championship.
  20. I mean idk. I guess it depends if we are in tank mode or not vs what we need to see. To me, we either need to go with Sam or Cam for next year. We probably need to be playing Newton regardless. But if we don’t plan on signing Cam again, I would give the reps to Darnold to tank out or make himself tradable to get rid of the contract next year.
  21. So Sam is likely to be back before the end of the season. He did okay in the Atlanta game before having a meltdown when Rhule and Co put him out there with a shoulder injury. Walker is hit and miss and I really don’t think is better than Sam although only worse by a little. Cam knowledge is limited, no way he knows all of the playbook even if he has been here a month. Still mobile but his arm does look weak at times but not as much as it’s made out to be. So what the hell are we supposed to do? I mean Darnold has the best arm but worst decision making, Cam is most experienced, PJ is meh.
  22. We are 5-7 with 5 games left. We can finish anywhere from 5-12 to 10-7. I think that has a lot to do with whether he’s here next year or not. Remember we were 5-11 last year. 5-12 or 6-11 likely gone 7-10 50/50 chance 8-9, 9-8-10–7 probably staying playoffs or not. Wining 3 or more out of last 5 will show improvement.
