Yeah I think it’s over. So far we have interviewed Steichen, Reich, Wilks, Caldwell that I have seen reported. Got a feeling they are going with Steve and are going to go ahead and vet is staff while they wait for HC interviews to cycle through.
-
Right now if I had to rank them from my perspective. 1. Steichen 2. Dorsey 3. Johnson 4. Wilks 5. Ryans 6. Reich 7. Kafka 8. Caldwell Really liking Steichen the more and more I learn about him.

I really like Wilks but I just don’t know if I can listen to another season of “win the day” 15 times in the press conferences. Literally the answer to almost every question. It is the new “missed opportunities”.
-
I’m not saying that, I’m saying we can’t manipulate the cap enough to keep Shaq, Resign Bozeman, Resign Darnold and Extend Brian Burns. Not “Some Center and Sam Darnold”. That “Center” has a market value of 15-17 million per season.
-
“Bozeman resigned, Sam Resigned, Shaq Kept, Burns restructured” Tell me you don’t know football without telling me you don’t know football. We have about 1 million in cap space. League may go up 5 million this year to put us at 6. What exactly are you going to restructure with Shaq and DJ? How are you going to restructure Burns on his 5th year option? He is going to want market value around 20 million per year. Which puts us at -14 million. Bozeman’s market value is 15-17 million per year which puts us at -30 million. Need 10 for draft picks which puts us at -40 million. And Sam will be around 5 million per year which puts us at -45 million without signing anyone else.
-
No way we have the money for all this.
-
You don’t want to know the answer to that. Look deeper. Mike Shula is on the staff. Brady would probably replace Dorsey as OC.
-
This doesn’t look good for Wilks. A lot of these names are 20 years younger with OC roles.
-
Dude went 14-48 in Jacksonville. Matt Rhule had a better win % than Bradley.
-
Where did you see the Gus Bradley news? This would be horrific.

Wilks hired as HC. Campen, Tabor, Holcombe, Ian Scott, McAdoo, Nixon retained. McAdoo made QB Coach. Freddie Kitchens hired as OC. Holcombe kept at DC (eye roll). His staff gets filled with Buffalo and Washington assistants. Panthers resign Bozeman, Foreman. Panthers cut Shaq. Panthers trade Burns to Houston for 2 first rounders. One 2023, One 2024. Panthers sign Geno Smith, a big name Defensive Back, Veteran Edge, and average WR. Panthers use one 1st rounder on Mayer, another on a DB. Draft a LB and QB on day 2.

Is this his mom’s burner account?
-
Not sure we have the money to resign him, Foreman, and Bozeman. We have 1 million in cap space. Say there is a 7 million increase that puts us at 8 million. We cut Shaq, Zane, Elflein, that puts us around 30 million. Restructure Donte, Woods, Thomas gives you about another 9 million so 39 million. Need about 11 million to cover draft picks. Which puts us at 28 million. Bozeman’s market value is between 15-17 million per year. Burns value is going to be around 20 million per year but you could add it after his tag year which is 16 million hit this year which leaves puts us in the negative. D’Onta is another 3-5 million per year and we still have other positions to fill. Or we can trade him, gain draft capital, and free up 16 million in cap room.

I had the same question. PJ had a 76.6 run grade and 60.3 Pass Grade Sam had a 45.3 run grade and 65.5 pass grade. The difference was the fumbles that Sam had regardless of the recovery and the missed give or keep reads. Sam had quite a bit more RPO reads than PJ which played a factor as well.

Who played their last game as a Panther today?
Cdparr7 replied to Sean Payton's Vicodin's topic in Carolina Panthers
Corbett under contract 2 more years -
For real. They put off real Rivera/Eric Washington vibes. Wilks praises him all the time but he has yet to impress me.

whose your projected 2023 Panthers HC / QB combo
Cdparr7 replied to GOAT's topic in Carolina Panthers
Well this isn’t what I want, but it’s what I think we are gonna get. HC: Wilks QB: Darnold (With Richardson drafted but on the bench) -
"We should have traded Burns" - a rebuttal
Cdparr7 replied to Ricky Spanish's topic in Carolina Panthers
If we can free up 16 million in cap space and get two 1s for him this offseason, I’ll take back everything I’ve said about Fitterer being a scared pencil pusher for Matt. -
Harbaugh to Carolina Makes Too Much Sense...
Cdparr7 replied to chknwing's topic in Carolina Panthers
I don’t see Harbaugh or Wilks being here longer than 4-5 years. Harbaugh will win, get bored, pick fights and move on. Wilks will just get so conservative that he is punting on 3rd down. And I think he will play pets and favorites worse than Rivera. -
Rapoport and Pelissero talk head coach openings
Cdparr7 replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
I thought about this too until I looked at offenses under Monken. They were very pass heavy in the NFL and not exactly what Wilks has been trying to do. I don’t think he ever had a 800 yard rusher. Also check out the Jags when he was their WRs coach a few years back. It was rough. I wouldn’t be surprised if he kept Ben and had Ben mold his playbook into what he wanted. I think Freddie Kitchens and (God help me) Mike Shula are options.
