Yeah I think this is pretty accurate

Poor kid was a product of the media hyping him up, same for Wilson and Jones.

To those who wanted us to hire Sean Payton...

I would have loved to have heard his take on walking in to Rhule’s mess. -

Despite the time difference, Seifert and Rhule were two different types of awful. Seifert at least had an arc in 1999/2000 before collapsing in 01 while Rhule was a systemic failure due to incompetence. -

I know he had "turn arounds" at Baylor and Temple but he also had Phil Snow and a decent reputation. He lost a lot of his reputation in the NFL when the media caught him contradicting himself 1000 times. His "turn arounds" never actually led to any success either because he sold himself while his value was high and took the next best job available. His time at Nebraska is going to go like this. Year 1: 3-9 with the excuse of first year struggles. Year 2: 4-8 with some random upset at the end of the year that gives fans some hope. Year 3: 4-8 with some excuse about injuries or close games. Year 4: Fired at 2-5 claiming they were "almost there". Then he will go to some smaller D1 school where he will be competitive again. -
I think he’s a solid starter. I don’t think he’s going to be a game changer like McCaffrey was or Stewart/Williams duo was. He’s probably gonna be good for 800-1000 yards per season and 5 or so TDs until he replacement is drafted. His fantasy projection is 996 yards and 5 TDs this year.

Need to keep in mind that Madden makes these ratings for how they project their overall to be "Week 1" and they update it throughout the season. In Franchise Mode the rookies will typically develop faster while the older folks like Thielen will lose ratings over time.

Not released yet. Dalton is 73. Bryce will probably be a couple points above that for his rookie year.
-
No
-
Dalton doesn’t need to do anything really. I would be surprised if he gets more than a drive or two each game since he’s been around so long. Bryce needs some reps but really like Person has been saying, Corral needs the reps. Need to see if he is a decent back up or see if we can get a pick or two out of him.

Can we make an incentive for getting sacks when they matter like TB game last year? Most of his sacks seem to come when we down by 20 in the 4th or the first 2 minutes of a game that’s over by halftime.

Anyone ever own a jersey of an infamous player?
Cdparr7 replied to Sean Payton's Vicodin's topic in Carolina Panthers
I’ve had some good ones, and some bad. My Beuerlein jersey is still in really good shape. I have a Dan Morgan in really good shape but most of my old ones pre 2005 are in horrible condition I have a Jim Plunkett jersey in the basement that was my Dads. -
It says last year our average attendance was 71,000. I think that is BS I went to a few games and 1/2 the seats were empty. 1/2 of the people there were wearing opposing teams gear.
-
Our college teams don’t seem to have problems with attendance. Granted many are students, but I think if Clemson can average 80,000 people, UNC can average 47,000 out of 50,000 capacity, and USC is averaging 90% capacity, then a professional football team in Charlotte can do much better than its doing.

Just what you posted is 3200 passing yards. Thats not counting TEs, running backs, and the other WRs. So you must have the expectations that Bryce is going to throw for 4500 yards or so? Personally, I think Bryce throws for around 3500 and 20 or so TDs his rookie year. Which puts things more like: Thielen- 796 yards 5 TDs Marshall- 684 yards 3 TDs Chark- 504 yards 1 TD Hurst- 385 yards 3 TDs Mingo- 355 yards 2 TD Sanders- 216 yards 3 TD Shenault- 205 yards 1 TD Tremble- 155 yards Blackshear- 110 yards 2 TD Thomas-97 yards 1 TD Hubbard- 81 yards Ricci- 22 yards Thats 3610 yards and 21 TDs

Viking article predicting big drop off for Thielen
Cdparr7 replied to panthers55's topic in Carolina Panthers
I don't expect him to be the Thielen of years past but I would be disappointed if he didn't have 600 yards and 3-4 TDs. He and Hurst are just big targets for young in the redzone and 3rd down. Chark, Marshall, Mingo, are going to be the ones expected to make the big plays. I won't be surprised if Shenault isn't more of a running back. -
Wright may, who knows. I’m hoping he’s more of a Patrick Jeffers/David Gettis type than a Brenton Bersin/ Ryne Robinson.
-
Or Patrick Jeffers

Will the Panthers or won't they contend for a playoff spot
Cdparr7 replied to panthers55's topic in Carolina Panthers
We are going to be around .500 mark Depends what our dysfunctional 3 cousins do in the NFCS -
Don’t sleep on Derek Wright, he had a really good preseason last year and the staff has been talking really high about him. Dude had like 5 catches and 100 yards on like 20 snaps or something crazy like that.
-
He’s really not that bad. With the depth we have on the front 3 he will likely make the team.
-
Are you buying into the media's narrative that we are third tier
Cdparr7 replied to Jmac's topic in Carolina Panthers
I expect a disappointing start to the season while the team develops chemistry followed by some wins at the end of the season. Will be one of those years we lose games we are supposed to win and win those we are supposed to lose. I say 8-9. With Bryce getting a year under his belt, the staff meshing with the players, and Fitterer’s war chest for 2024, we are in great shape for next season.
