Great post, definitely a lot to think about. A lot of our off-season pickups shifted our selection at 8 to more of a WANT pick than a NEED pick. meaning... BPA baby!

I don't think you trade down with denver to allow them to get a QB. I think we allow another team like NE to grab a QB so that Denver is pushed to trade for teddy (if it doesn't happen prior to the draft like some are expecting). Lol just some poo to think about.

I literally don't see us drafting anything but a LT at 8. This team doesn't care about "sexy" pickups. They have made it clear that they want to build a roster.

I think you gotta look at it from a L standpoint 1) If we traded all that draft capital for a higher pick to grab a QB this year and he ended up being a bust, we would be adding at least 1-2 rebuilding years. 2) If Sam Darnold is a bust (like he has been), we were able to draft BPA with picks we kept and are still in a better position (than last year) even without a franchise QB. Our FO understands that we have to build a complete team and they've done a pretty good job so far. The moves may not be perfect but they were solid moves that will move this team in the right direction.

The trend here is believing!

I will say I wanted a QB up until we traded for one. I think the team had a love/hate with every QB option we had in the sense of loving the QB, but hating how we would have to go about getting him.

Personally, I am against drafting a quarterback. Because it will feel just like the Jets. As soon as Sam plays like poo, the fans will be screaming for the rookie. But I would pull a Kansas City and sit Justin all next season IFFF we were to draft him. But I am not for us drafting a QB. Answer: no

Yeah I just don't see us drafting Lance just to have two project QBs on the team. Now you could definitely argue the case for justin fields. Butttt.... like majority of the comments here, just my opinion

1. Pitts (Draft OL in 2nd) 2. Best OL available (Sewell/Slater) 3. Trade back if 1 and 2 aren't there at 8 I do not want or see a trade up after the Sam Darnold trade.

I think too many people are looking at this as a "Bears" type move. Yes it has a hint of desperation but remember that we aren't a QB away from being a contender. This was a safe move to build the entire roster through the draft. We already ruined the relationship with teddy so there was no way he was QB1 heading into week 1. Sam will most definitely improve his numbers... now it may not be by much but he is stepping into a much better situation. That being said.. he is just a better looking placeholder if you ask me, but if he winds up being more than that then our FO did a great job!

Best Case: Fields/Wilson Most Likely: Lance Worst Case: Darnold This is the way I see it at this point.

I think you need to create a third category for someone of Tom Brady's talent. He belongs in a "Hybrid" category because he does "what needs to be done" in what situation he is in. I think you could argue Tom can be both a gunslinger and a game manager depending on what the defense throws at him. Also depending on what your views on what a gunslinger or a game manager is. This is just my opinion though

My guess is that any QB coming in will have a good enough head on their shoulders to ask Cam via social media or however.
