This as well, but Hill offers more than what you would normally expect from a QB3 position.

I don't think people understand that this guy isn't taysom hill. Same size but much lesser talent.

Well a lot of the decisions made this year (Plus the 3yr Teddy deal turned 1yr rental) will have an affect on whether or not Matt Rhule finishes that huge contract he signed. I'd say he will be fine as long as he doesn't turn into a guy with the label of not being to figure out the QB position or continuing to push positions of need (that have been considered a need for longer than just 1, 2 years) off to the next year and still not properly addressing. I know this thread isn't about that, but just saying. Also not saying that Matt is on the hot seat or anything by any means.

Our QB room is terrible. It is built off hopes and dreams. Not trolling, lol I hope Darnold is what our staff believes he can be in Carolina. As for the other guys.... But one could argue we had to sacrifice for the greater good of the roster.

it is a gamble lol

I just bought tickets to Jets @ Panthers Week 1... I think that game will play a big part on whether or not I make my purchase.

I'm sure you would make a fortune off this bet on draftkings if it happened lol that's how unrealistic it is. People are saying around 250 for a reason.

Honestly, him saying this hurts his rep more than ours. BUTTT, if we still have red zone and 2 minute problems this year... maybe it's something truly worth looking into.

We'll find out in an off-season interview after we relieve ian of his TE duties

I just hope that in the event that Sam works, they don't think they can just fix anyone.

Draft Analysis: "A massive value-destroying error"?
CarolinaLivin replied to PanthersATL's topic in Carolina Panthers
I'm not mad at Teddy though. Us signing Teddy allowed us to draft the way we wanted to (all defense) and so did the Sam signing this year. This team is willing to take a chance on QB in order to build the rest of the roster. Most won't and don't agree with that, but I actually like that way of building a roster. -

If you need a QB you get your guy whether that's FA or draft. You KEEP your QB if he either shows either "Right Now Talent" or "Potential" -

Better known as the Clausen effect -
Adjusted Interceptions: What it Means The adjusted interception metric examines elements such as when a potential pick is dropped by a defender or broken up by a receiver, as well as situations in which a QB throws a pick because of a Hail-Mary attempt or a desperation throw in the final seconds of a game. There are a couple of situations that adjusted interceptions don't account for, such as when a defender makes a great play on a ball (though that can be subjective) and when a receiver doesn't run a proper route (but that requires knowing the play call and where the receiver was supposed to go). Bridgewater had 11 interceptions but had seven potential picks that were dropped or broken up, and none came in a late-game situation. In other words, Bridgewater wasn't as careful with the ball as it appears at first glance. https://www.si.com/nfl/broncos/news/broncos-drew-lock-outshined-teddy-bridgewater-key-interceptions

I think this is a perfect learning experience for how we need to treat Sam or any talent that has underperformed and we ultimately put trust/belief in. Edit: I don't specifically mean this situation. I mean the whole Teddy Project. -

Also for Rhule. I don't think he is struggling or anything. But there are things im seeing in the media that makes me question him. Some coaches are just better suited for the college level. Only time will tell. -

I just hope Sam is watching and learning. I think Teddy was too much of a "Do what coach says" guy. I believe we want a guy that's gonna take it upon his self to be the first one in the facility to work on those areas of need and putting in that extra time with the QB coach and other personnel. His tape is filled with terrible read zone play and missing (or just not seeing) the big play for the "safer" play. -

I don't think he needs excuses. There's years of tape that shows his limitations. It's on our staff for not seeing it. -

Hopefully, Rhule doesn't say anything back. And if he does, just acknowledge and reassure that the coaching staff is moving in the right direction. Pay it no mind and keep focus on Sam. -

Still a great professional and this is why he will have some kind of job in this league for years to come.- 262 replies
