Jets release Pro Bowl LB Mosley FLORHAM PARK, N.J. -- Former Pro Bowl linebacker C.J. Mosley, who signed a record-setting contract with the New York Jets in 2019, was released Wednesday amid the team's continuing offseason purge. General manager Darren Mougey and coach Aaron Glenn, both newly hired, already have released three big names -- Mosley, quarterback Aaron Rodgers and wide receiver Davante Adams. Rodgers and Mosley were captains last season.

Free agent quarterback Mac Jones, who wanted an opportunity to work with coach Kyle Shanahan, has agreed to terms with the San Francisco 49ers on a two-year deal worth $7 million with $5 million guaranteed, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter on Wednesday. Jones, 26, appeared in 10 games last season for the Jacksonville Jaguars, including seven starts in place of an injured Trevor Lawrence. He completed 65.3% of his passes for 1,672 yards and eight touchdowns, along with eight interceptions. The Jaguars went 2-5 in his starts, averaging just 15 points per game. Jacksonville sent a 2024 sixth-round pick to the New England Patriots last March for Jones, who grew up in Jacksonville. He beat out C.J. Beathard in training camp to be Lawrence's backup.

Cam Jordan back for another year The longtime Saints defensive end isn't done yet. He played a career-low 48% of snaps last season but once again played all 17 games. He should be a mainstay for the New Orleans defense, even if his role shrinks again.

He’s being designated as a post-June 1 cut, meaning they’ll carry his $21M cap hit until June 1, when it drops to $14M—saving $7M. But they then will absorb a $35M dead cap hit in 2026.

Weaver was taken by the Titans in the fourth-round of the 2021 NFL Draft. He had a breakout season in 2022 with 5.5 sacks, but he hasn't done much since. Last season, he saw action in just three games while playing for the Houston Texans. The Jets will be hoping he can get back to his 2022 form in New York.

Cooper Kupp set to be released The wide receiver announced in early February that the Rams were going to try and trade him, but five weeks later, a trade still hasn't materialized. With no trade partner in place, the Rams will officially be releasing Kupp today before the start of the new league year at 4 p.m. ET.

Chargers re-sign another linebacker Not only did the Chargers re-sign OLB Khalil Mack, but they were also make a deal to keep ILB Troy Dye. The 28-year-old, who started five games last season for the Chargers, is set to sign a two-year, $5.5 million deal that could be worth as much as $8.5 million, according to NFL Media. Although he wasn't a regular starter, Dye still managed to total a career-high 57 tackles in 2024, which ranked fifth on the team. The Chargers also re-signed Jalen Reagor, who caught seven passes for 100 yards in 2024, which was his first season with the team.

The Seattle Seahawks have agreed to a one-year contract with free agent wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling, a source told ESPN. The Seahawks are in need of receiving help for new quarterback Sam Darnold after agreeing to trade DK Metcalf to the Pittsburgh Steelers and releasing Tyler Lockett. In Seattle, Valdes-Scantling will be reunited with Klint Kubiak, the new Seahawks offensive coordinator who was Valdes-Scantling's offensive coordinator last season with the New Orleans Saints.
