It's a job. Why shouldn't he maximize his compensation. You would, wouldn't you?
-
He has an interest too in seeing how much he's going to get paid. He gambled and went short-term/high AAV. This is his chance to play a shadow free agency game.
-
All of this crap is pretty clearly coming from the Saints side. They're leaking to put pressure on Carolina because they know it's unrealistic for them in the end.
-
So they're going to eat $16M to trade Lance, and all of this is going down while Watson is in a deposition? lol. fake news.
-
You apparently don't comprehend reality, but that's okay, not an uncommon trait here.
-
Matches the information that Panthers felt like they might get him without giving up any current players
-
Yeah from the Saints
-
This is about as funny as the Bucs being faked involved. They knew about Brady since at least last Thursday, yet they were rumored to be "in it" until Saturday. Carolina had the last seat at the table once Miami backed out. This is all about the Texans driving up the price.
-
$55M dead cap hit to move Ryan, but sure, definitely they are very serious about Watson.
-
Leverage play. This is good news for Carolina actually acquiring him in my opinion. Shows the Texans know it will be Carolina in the end and are squeezing value out of the deal. No coincidence they are dragging NFCS teams into it. The cap hit to move Ryan right now would be enormous. He has already restructured this offseason.

To be fair, only need one leg to kick a chicken

Maybe if Gordon Hayward was Nikola Jokic

Dude is seriously bipolar or something
-
He'll be dumped if he doesn't go to Houston, bank it. But I don't know that this Sheena chick really knows anything.
-
If you're willing to do the rest, you don't let one of those guys be your deal-breaker unless you don't really want to do the rest in the first place.
-
You don't pass on a franchise QB for either of those dudes. Or both. This is silly. They aren't Aaron Donald or prime Von Miller.
-
The problem is, he doesn't convert on those sacks.
-
So he doesn't get to choose, he can just tell the Texans no to anyone he wants to tell them no to. lol. okay.
-
Agree. Losing Chinn is not a big deal. Not worked about Burns either because he's very one-dimensional. He's still got room to develop, but I think it's far from a guarantee that he's more than a dynamic pass rusher with serious holes in his game against the run.
-
He'd bet on it. Who's your source?
-
Hunt is a good player, but he's a soon to be 27 year old RB on an expiring contract. His trade value is, what, a 4th round pick? 5th round pick? He's barely an asset for Cleveland.
-
He's not going to Cleveland.

What did Stafford accomplish either personally or with the Lions as a team in 12 years that Watson did not accomplish in 4? A couple extra 9-7 seasons where Detroit missed the playoffs? lol
-
Stafford was tested against what? He went to three playoff games in 12 years with Detroit. If anything, there were more questions about him than Watson. Watson accomplished as much as Stafford from 2009-2020, if not more, within 4 years.

I was able to read it. Doesn't say much of anything we don't already know. Organization felt like it went really well, but Watson holds the cards.
