The price will be low. He's on the same 5th year option deal as Darnold. I would be surprised if they got more than a conditional 2023 third that can become a second. That's why I am pretty concerned Carolina will take a stab at him. Darnold + 2023 conditional third for Mayfield sounds pretty realistic to me.

Baker is a zillion times better than Darnold. The problem is if he's any good next year, he's going to want Kirk Cousins money at a minimum, which means you get stuck in 7-10 win purgatory for him year after year.

As I have said for the 20th time, the longer this drags, the better it is for Carolina. Atlanta and New Orleans can make space, but they're also tight on money for putting together rosters this year. They cannot afford to wait very long. Carolina can wait for ages.

He's not a good NFL prospect. Too small. Too many games where his numbers were propelled by short, safe completions. Same crap they did there with Tua. We better hope Stroud is legit or someone else emerges.

He's not going to ruin their cap. The football people aren't stupid enough to trade for a piece that will "ruin" their cap, or more generally, know that no one piece is ever going to "ruin" anyone's cap. Fake fan concern.
