I suspect that the trade packages discussed in the media were aspirational for the Texans. Ultimately, I think it will be three firsts + MAYBE a mid round pick + MAYBE one player for Watson + mid/late round pick. Just my personal feeling, but I bet they were haggling over Burns v. Chinn if a player was included rather than both being included.

The longer it drags, the better it is for Carolina. Keep repeating it.
-
Pitts isn’t in the trade package. Falcons aren’t about to eat $8.5M in additional cap to trade him. And, surprise, he has the same agent as Watson.

The Saints are using dummy years in contracts to flush cap hits?

Well, not necessarily on the $5M prorated over the life per year. Likely guaranteed his salary this year at least. My guess is cap hit on that will be about $4M in 2022. Probably something like a $10M SB + $1.5M in guaranteed salary this year + $3.5M in guaranteed salary (or roster bonus) next year. -

FWIW, Nothing is official on these transaction yet. Cannot even be submitted to the league office before 4 PM. Roto really should not report them as "signed." -
Oh if we're talking Davis, pass. Saw him get gassed playing against up tempo teams too many times. No thanks.

Do like. I think Walker could be a jumbo end opposite of Burns and help a ton in the run game. Teams will still run at Burns, but allows you to shade LB help if necessary.

Everyone does this, and it's not with "no impact." The remainder of the salary cap hit due is forwarded to the year in which the contract is voided. Which is why Armstead will cost them an additional $13M and Winston another $3M if they do not re-sign with New Orleans. -
Yes. It will require a flurry of moves. Roby and Davenport are done. They need a deal with Armstead, plus restructures with most or all of the following: Hill, Onyemata, Davis, Jenkins. The number I get playing those out (other than Armstead) is about $36.5M cleared. Armstead is set to count about $13M in dead. They can extend him and lower that hit. How low can they go is the question regarding their flexibility, because there isn’t much else they can do. They could pull Deonte Harty’s tender and save about $3-4M.

I don’t think Mayfield is as bad as as his rep is after this year, but at the end of the day, I still think he’s a QB purgatory kind of starter that eats up too much cap relative to his impact. Think slightly better version of Andy Dalton.

The deadline is 4 PM today, so no, not really.
-
They still have about $20M-25M more to go before they can trade for Watson. We’ll see. There’s a path, but it’s a narrow one.
-
This is an all-time disaster if the Panthers get cucked by the Saints on this, who only got involved to make sure they didn’t have to play Watson 20 times over the next 10 years. It gets exponentially harder for New Orleans if this doesn’t go down by 4 PM today, so we’ll probably know for sure whether it’s them by then.
-
lol same poo, this is all coming from New Orleans side
-
Are we supposed to force Armstead and Fuller to sign? Armstead is already sitting on at least one big offer from MIA.
-
He's probably never going to have a chance to meet with them again in his career. Grew up a Falcons fan. Worked for them as a ball boy. They aren't a realistic option here for a number of reasons. Just chill.

It is hilarious how much Saints-side sources are feeding this dude

How did you draw that conclusion from the tweet you quoted?

Anderson will be dumped. Redundant skillset.

That's Garry to you, bitch

Sign Armstead and draft Tyler Linderbaum

My point is you look for players who provide you appropriate value, as someone else demonstrated earlier. You are a lot better off trying to find a center somewhere other than the top 10 picks of the first round of the draft than you are a QB, a WR, a LT, a CB, etc. -

Really. Landry was a good player, but I find it similarly difficult to justify a safety in the top 10. Not like the Redskins are a paragon of great drafting over the last 20 years. -
It's worth it for Watson, but in general, I really don't understand the Browns selling low on Baker this off-season. Why not play out next season with him in a walk year and see where you land?
-
MK is as keyed in as anyone, but it will be really difficult for them to make this trade without having a destination already in mind for Mayfield.

His hands hit the adequate threshold, first off. Second off, let's let Slater get more than a year under his belt before we crown his ass. Know who else looked really good as a rookie LT? Matt Kalil. But beyond that, he plays the toughest position other than QB to find legitimate young talent in LT. Like QB, your risk tolerance at LT needs to be a lot higher than it does at a position like C.
