  1. But if it's morally reprehensible, aren't we therefore obligated to conduct such an inquiry into every player. "It's not bad if we don't know about it" doesn't seem like something that would fly anywhere but maybe Twitter. To my knowledge, neither Bill Cosby nor Harvey Weinstein has the requisite knowledge to help a football team. But if you're asking if I'd watch a movie one of them put out, yes, if it was a great movie that interested me. Sure.
  2. I don't think it's "okay," but I don't feel the need analyze the morality of every player that plays for the Carolina Panthers, no. The only thing that matters is whether they're good at football. Their morality does not impact their ability to perform on a football field.
  3. To not watch football if she cannot restrain from imposing her personal feelings on a football team that is solely for entertainment.
  4. But to make such a determination, those claims will have to go to trial, which they won't. It's not semantics; just extremely inconvenient to the poor point you're trying to make.
  5. I'm proving your standard is stupid. Don't be dim. I judge him by his entire body of work, and I think he's got a decent but not great arm, weird throwing motion, and was an inconsistent producer despite top-tier development and a great offensive coach. Like I said, I think he can be okay starter, but I think the ceiling is limited.
  6. So were you impressed or unimpressed with 12-for-27 against Northwestern that same year?
  7. lol at evaluating a QB prospect based on a single collegiate game, good call
  8. He's not a "poor man's Fields." Much higher ceiling. I think Fields can be a solid starter, but I don't think he's ever a real difference maker. I was really against drafting Willis, but I am starting to come around to it. Seems to have a good head on his shoulders. The physical talent is great. He's got to learn how to make the "easy play" sometimes, but I think you have to swing for the fences if you're drafting a QB. I'd rather take a chance on being able to coach a guy to take the "easy play" rather than trying to squeeze more out of a guy than his physical talent allows.
  9. He's done. Sorry. It is what it is. I am hoping he goes somewhere he can win a ring as a backup who has some subpackages in short-yardage/RZ situations. I think he could be successful for several more years in such a role, as he's still a dynamic runner. But his arm is indeed shot. He's never going to be a full-time starter for a good team ever again.
  10. There’s also the counter-point that Cam is a pretty shitty QB now unfortunately
  11. Sounds great, but you can spend 25 years taking swings on rookie QBs that don’t become superstars. Ask the Browns. Or the Jets. Or the Dolphins. And even when you hit big, they’re only cheap for 4-5 seasons. That’s why a QB like Watson is so valuable even with the warts. Stud QB. Young. Probably a 10-year fixture. There are definite team-building issues, but assuming Carolina doesn’t give up too much in the way of current players, an elite QB turns last year’s team into a division winner in 2022. Can Carolina get away with flipping McCaffrey for a first and third and flipping those assets + 2021 First + 2022 First + 2022 Second + Darnold + two young players for Watson? If so, then it’s worth it.
  12. Division winners at 11-5 and 10-6 in two of his three full seasons wasn't good enough for you? I'd take it.
  13. If he wins you games? Yes, because those things will fade. Kaepernick is a racist, and plenty of people thought he should be signed.
  14. ABSOLUTELY GUILTY even though you have no personal knowledge of the situation. Do you even know the specific legal claims against him? lol
  15. How can you possible stoop from your moral high horse to interact with these people on a daily basis without verifying who you are dealing with. You could complain and demand that they take the mailman off his route. You could shop at a different grocery store or stay at a different hotel if certain ones hire morally reprehensible people. So why does morality matter to you regarding football players you never interact with, if it doesn’t matter to you in everyday life? Seems hypocritical to me. I don’t believe “I have/had a…” stories on the internet because they’re usually exaggerated or completely made up, and they tend to be mighty convenient for the person telling them. If it really did happen, sorry for them, but it really has no bearing on this. Watson contacted women on the internet for sex who either had buyer’s remorse or decided they could make a buck.
  16. Nice completely made up fantasyland hypothetical. How about some concrete examples!
  17. I don’t watch a game until I get my background checks for all 100 players on the field
  18. We don’t decide “innocent.” We decide guilty or not guilty. Liable or not liable. I honestly believe it doesn’t matter either way because he’s going to be playing like an elite QB for somebody. Might as well be Carolina. Do you demand that your mailman be unimpeachable morally? Do you do a background check on your grocery store cashier? Do you demand the legal history of the front desk worker at a hotel? Why do you feel you need to make moral judgments about football players who have zero impact on your life if you don’t do it for everyone else you interact with on a daily basis? It’s funny, the same nancies wailing and gnashing their teeth about Watson are probably the same ones claiming black men are overincarcerated and can’t get a second chance.
  19. Hard to play NFL football from prison, but if someone serves the time society has given them, can still play, and is worth the distraction, sure, sign them up. Obviously the juice isn’t worth the squeeze for Carruth, but if it was prime Randy Moss getting out of prison, I’d sign him the next day. An elite QB is absolutely worth any distraction he carries along with him.
  20. Bye! I am a football fan and care about winning football games. An elite QB wins football games. Bring on Watson.
  21. You didn't answer the question. If he got the Giants job, would he have filed the lawsuit alleging a number of extraneous complaints against the NFL and the Dolphins? Have you read the lawsuit yet?
  22. Have you read the whole lawsuit? If not, then you are not entitled to have an opinion. If so, ask yourself if Flores would have filed this general airing of grievances against the NFL if he had gotten the Giants job.
  23. Why hire an attention whore like Flores when there are plenty of viable options?
