I don't agree it's "much better." Bryce has been absolutely god awful, but the D has also allowed the most points in the league and as bad as Bryce is there has not been a single bright spot from the offense around him. OL is yet to be seen, yes I saw the stat on pressures but it paints an incomplete picture considering Bryce panic checkdowns so quickly. I'm not sold on Canales' scheme yet either. We will know much more following Sunday's game with Dalton starting. This year's team might be better than last year, but I'm not convinced yet.

The line has provided enough protection from pressure for Bryce to have had success if he was getting the ball out in 2.7 seconds like Canales has said he wanted. Problem is that Bryce either bails from a clean pocket, can't see over the line, or holds on to the ball too long and the protection inevitably breaks down. Our WRs have been getting NFL open but Bryce can't get it to them, and it's not for lack of protection this time.

As for the defense, the only hope they have is that Dalton can sustain drives and put points on the board so there's not so much pressure on them to be perfect.

You know a guy is hopeless if he can't be good on KC.

He was done for as soon as him being offsides ruined that crazy lateral touchdown last year

Also how did the online discourse turn into them not liking us. I understand they want us to stink while they have our picks but why do they no like us?! 😭

They're just looking for someone else to be the punching bag after being it themselves for so long.

They made it the most boring play in football, and now they're trying to make it more interesting.

They made it boring in the name of player safety, and now they're attempting to thread the needle and have an interesting play that doesn't disproportionately injure players. That's fine by me, and I just can't understand opposition to it other than just an outright opposition to change on principle.

I mean, that's great for people who can watch it during the day, but most people are working or going to school during the day, and that's why they re-broadcast it during the evenings.

The Panthers game starts at 7 est and the olympic rebroadcasts start at 8 est, so I say watch the Panthers for an hour and switch. I can't imagine gleaning anything meaningful after the first quarter anyway.

So why does he have it? He doesn’t need money. Just sayin.

I’m mostly about the concerts and grass field stuff.

I will say that bringing in an outside soccer team and treating them so much better than you treat your own people.... sucked. Putting concerts over your players, sucks. Dick move.

Diversifying the portfolio. He doesn't need more money but he certainly wants it.

Every venture by TPE is a money making venture. Every decision he's made makes sense when looking at the profit motive. Putting in grass for one soccer game was what he had to do to have the stadium host a game in a high profile international tournament, which earned him more money. It all comes down to green.

And to be clear, this is not me being an advocate for his decisions. Just diagnosing the cause.

I don’t like the soccer involvement much, from my football team’s owner. Dividing attention, resources, all of that stuff.

The concert, as it affects the football playing surface? fug that I don’t care if you can raise Beatles, Michael Jackson and Sinatra from the dead for one last show... keep it off the grass field.

He doesn't give a fug about soccer and is completely hands off with Charlotte FC. That's probably why they're actually winning games lol.

What I see and hear from Canales gives me confidence he has a really good shot at being one of the better young coaches in the league. Everything hinges on how good he is on gamedays in preparation and adjustments.

Player development definitely seems to be night and day overall. I'm very happy to see that 89 has been working with Mingo.

Nothing about the situation from under center has changed until we see some plays in preseason at the very least. At some point fans on all angles of the conversation have to realize they are pouring gasoline on the matter no different than any others regardless of their position. We will not have a true answer until at least the end of September.

Honestly the league did us a favor with the season opener being on the road against the Saints. We have the chance to make a statement right out of the gate. Falling flat is not acceptable.

The general team vibe is so significantly improved it cannot be understated. I can't remember the last time I've seen so many former Panthers out in support of the team. Things are hopefully trending up. When I see it in a real game I'll begin believing again.

    Good post.
