In a 17 game season, that's still a losing record. Three consecutive losing seasons for a #1 overall pick and yes, they should consider all options even replacing Bryce.
I think going from 2 wins to 8 wins would be enough of an increase to convince Tepper that he deserves one more season, to see if he continues the upward trajectory.

With our luck Bryce will have a break out season and lead us to 7 or 8 wins which will be out of reach for the top two QB.
If Bryce breaks out and leads us to 7-8 wins then they wouldn't be drafting a QB anyway.

Only knock I got Leggette, is I'm not sure Bryce is the style of QB to really get the most out of what he offers.
Does this point to the staff not being tied to Bryce past this year, and so they aren't necessarily drafting to suit his play style, or does it point to the staff believing that they can get Bryce up to a level where he can maximize XL's abilities?

Honestly, wouldn't be upset with it.

Well I guess we'll see how good Catmanjr's sources are.

This man nailed the Jaycee option and trade up last night

There are so many directions the Panthers could go with pick 39, that it's a mathematical certainty that a good percentage of Huddlers will be seething and frothing at the mouth no matter what they do.

exposit the reasons why it “doesn’t move the needle”
He thinks it's irrelevant because good rookies are supposed to sign their second contract before they get to their 5th year option.

Yep. And going to be even less seperation in the NFL with more athletic and most likely bigger corners on him. This isnt the flex highlight they think it is, its actually the opposite.
You don't think a highlight showing his ability to go up and snag an underthrown ball while being blanketed will be relevant to his time as a Panther?

Carolina chances of trading back 15%
Carolina trading into the first to get their guy is 60%
Carolina trading for a very liked WR just went up %5(was 0 this morning but a new deal is getting worked on
Carolina stays is 0%
Carolina know who they want but news coming in says he may not be available if they wait

I think the Rams want him and they are going to be bold about it. Popcorn needs to be ready--Chicago at #9 (Rams Bears trade)?
I hope the first round is as chaotic as it’s shaping up to be

ftr if anyone cares, i would prefer the panthers trade out of 33.
if they can come away with another pick later in the 2nd round and a first next season, they have to take that.
They won't get that kind of offer.

JJ isn't making it out of the first. Penix or Nix would be out best bet for a trade down from 33.
That's my hot take for this draft: that the JJ smoke is all bluster and he'll end up falling. Or he could go top 5 I have no idea.

Best case for us is that pennix and jj slip out of the first
I'm 100% sure they will, but I'm also sure that there is not going to be a huge haul to trade up to 33. The Titans traded picks 41, 72 and a third rounder in 2024 for picks 33 and 81 so they could get Levis. Not exactly franchise altering compensation.

I'd be shocked as hell is Bowers was available in the late 1st. If he falls out of the top 15. All the WR talent might push him out of the top 10. He'd be a top 10 lock in most drafts.
I'd be surprised if he didn't go to the Jets at 10. They need OL but a better weapon for Rogers is sexier.

I think Canales probably just straight up told Leggette that. That happens all the time. Canales just doing what literally every coach would be forced to do if a player right before the draft went to the media and said it. That, almost never happens.
Yeah I'm pretty sure Legette broke an unwritten rule about pre-draft player/team relations lol.

What's the question?
"So we draft you at 33, what happens now? And then there's a bunch of questions that happen after that."

Not to derail this thread, but there's already a QB we passed on that makes us look dumb. Caleb would have to be quite the player to outshine he who will not be named here.

true, but to date it is what it is. Looks comically bad. But if Bryce doesn't develop of Caleb busts.....the trade still looks like the Panthers manage assets like clowns.
And we certainly did under Rhule + Fitterer. It all points back to the guy in your avi, who, coincidentally, is already donning the clown attire.

I mean you only can devote so much time to the worst team in professional sports….its bad business. But the jabs and low blows will always be there.
The trade won't look nearly as bad if Caleb is mentally weak, idiotic, and a mega clown like you say he is.

Yep, we're inextricably linked to Caleb Williams no matter what.
Just like Hornets fans are the only fanbase that cares that the Hornets traded Kobe on draft night, the only people who are gonna care about Caleb being drafted with our pick are on this board. It's barely ever mentioned even now and it'll just be a trivia fact as time goes on. No one cares about the Panthers.
How short a leash will Young be on?
