I hope he sucks terribly and Cousins doesnt return to form. Or Cousins plays just good enough to keep him on the bench for the majority of his rookie deal.

Oh good so we're in agreement on this. You know, you're allowed to make fun of other teams even if your team is bad. It's fun, you should try it.

Bryce isnt a top 10 QB and looks to never be one, so your argument is irrelevant.

If Penix sucks they look dumb, if he is great they don't look dumb.

They dont get props, but I dont get all the hate especially from our team. It seems more like hoping that Penix will suck and Cousins gets hurt again to me.

Haven't seen anyone wishing injury on Cousins, and of course we hope Penix sucks, he's a Falcons QB.

It's almost as if, get this crazy thought, that other teams in the league can also make bad/questionable decisions from time to time. But for some reason, we can't discuss those without every thread turning into the same "Dude did you know that Bryce young is short" pile on from the usual suspects.

"But, but, but, we can't judge the Falcons QB situation because ours is so bad!!!"

We absolutely can, and wouldn't the Bryce move make us qualified to judge a poor QB decision? Lol.

It's almost worse than trading DJ Moore, swapping picks, and giving up a 1st + 2nd round pick for Bryce Young.

If Penix becomes a top 10 type of QB no one will care where he was drafted or that Cousins was already on the team

They invested twice in the most important position. I have seen a ton of you clamoring for some competition for mighty midget.

I hate the falcons, but stop judging their QBs when we have the worst starter in the league until proven otherwise.

If Bryce was a top 10 QB no one would care what we gave up to get him. See? Two can play that game.

So I guess the Falcons get props for the concept of investing in the QB, regardless of how nonsensical the specifics are.

If they screwed it up, it’s one pick. Kind of like if we’d taken Levis maybe, at 9 in 2023. That is their worst case.

Would you rather do that and hit or miss, or what we did?

It'd be like if we drafted Levis at 9 in 2023 after giving Derek Carr $100 million. Would you honestly be ok with that?

He is a QB, on a rookie deal and Cousins is old coming off an achilles injury.

Which QB they got is the part that is highly debatable if it was good. Yeah they could have used that on more tallent but Cousins doesn't win in the postseason so it wouldn't matter anyways. Chances are good they take the NFCS regardless this year or it goes back to a Bucs team that just breaks .500.

Well then that begs the question, why sign an old, injured Cousins to a big deal and thus hamper your ability to add talent around a QB on a rookie deal?

This decision reeks of indecisiveness in the FO, and I can't believe it's receiving praise on this website.

No. We are praising them because they are not stopping at the 36 year old QB and saying that’s it. We got it.

Either Young really is good and everyone in the building believes it (and I know they say they do), or they are afraid if they get a decent younger backup in here everyone in the locker room will see Young is a naked Emperor and they will have a big problem.

And neither of those things are real believable to me. So wtf I don’t understand why no real competition for him. His respect meter would register higher from me and I am sure others more important than me too, if he could show he was better than someone. Anyone.

I think its been pretty evident that Young will be allowed this year to prove himself with a functional staff and some actual weapons. If he can't hack it, then he'll be replaced. If you're not ok with that then tough titties I guess.

Patriots, Giants, Falcons turning over every stone to set up a QB room, we won't even give Bryce legit competition. How do you go through training camp and know what you actually have if you don't?

Are we supposed to be giving the Falcons props for paying a 36 year old (when the season starts) Kirk Cousins coming off an Achilles tear $100 million and also spending a very premium pick on a QB who's already 24, and will be 26-27 by the time he starts if everything goes to plan?

Let's be real, if the Panthers made these moves you'd be fuming.

Is a pretty solid RB room. It wouldn't surprise me if they carried four into the season.

It wouldn't me either, especially if they're planning to slow-roll Brooks, and they can't rely on Penny's health to last the whole season.

The problems begin with Young. The Charlotte restaurateur who clowned Tepper is right. It certainly seems like Tepper was behind the decision to trade up to no. 1 in 2023, then use that pick on Young to be the franchise’s savior. By all measures, Young so far has fallen well short of the mark. Seventy-two different quarterbacks have had 200-plus dropbacks in their rookie seasons since the 2000 season; Young’s 2023 campaign ranks dead last among them in EPA per dropback in obvious passing situations (second, third, and fourth downs of 7-plus yards). Tepper’s hiring and firing decisions and drink-tossing are embarrassing, but missing on Young will set the team back if the QB doesn’t flip the script in 2024. Per FanDuel’s win total projections, the Panthers are tied for the lowest implied market probability to clear 5.5 wins of any team in the league. Stop laughing! It’s not funny!

None of this is new info. Seems like you're just wallowing in misery just to say you're miserable tbh.

While I'm down with misery in Atlanta, who should they have drafted?

Rome Odunze was sitting right there on the board.

They also probably should've gone DE and been the first team to pick defense.
