  1. Yeah we're getting bogged down a bit. Boze is back on a great deal, and that's great news.
  2. Do you believe that Boze started at 16 and then accepted 6?
  3. Things do change. But this feels like a huge stretch to believe the negotiations would change by that margin. I mean if the FO is willing to give 8-9 million, then why would Boze go down to 6?
  4. Possibly because the reported deal is lower than what Leaky said even the Panthers were at. They said the FO was at 8-9 million per year. And if Leaky was right about Boze being at 16 mil a year, then he came down an awful lot.
  5. Denoting both March 10th and October 3rd as "10/3" just to make the numbers work is just *chef's kiss*
  6. LMAO even analysts who are former Panthers don't even follow the Panthers well enough to give informed takes.
  7. Honestly the only thing I'm worried about is lack of offensive weapons. I don't like the idea of banking on 2nd round+ rookies or a TMJ breakout season.
  8. Yeah, that would be one of our motivations to get the deal done early. But I'm not convinced it was with a specific WR replacement in mind.
  9. The reason we traded DJ is well documented. The Bears wouldn't move down to 9 unless DJ was part of the deal.
  10. Davante Adams? Unless they made him untouchable?
  11. If the Panthers and Saints swapped rosters and draft picks, would you believe that the Panthers would be front runners to win the division with Derek Carr? I have a feeling you'd believe that the new rookie the Saints were gonna pick would help them win the South. I only ask this because you seem to be following the "grass is always greener" logic train.
  12. Today's NFL is the most QB friendly it’s ever been. A normal hit on the QB is roughing the passer and the league has no intentions of changing that.
  13. The FO is being coy about releasing any details, even with the 1 pick. They’re still throwing smokescreens about “being open” to trading down from 1. I’m not sure what their long game is but I’m not willing to preemptively call it a failure.
  14. Nothing is going to be proven until draft night. If you’re looking for them to announce who they’re picking right now then you’re going to come up wanting. I’m bummed about losing DJ but I understand that it was all part of the calculus of obtaining a franchise QB. I’m going to withhold judgement until all FA and draft moves have been made.
  15. All signs are pointing to it being Stroud, with Young also being possible.
  16. I mean that might be the case if FA and the draft didn’t exist. You act like we’re gonna add a QB and nothing else.
  17. So if you have no problem trading picks for Stroud, then why have you been spamming every thread complaining about the move? Do you really believe that DJ is going to be the key move that delivers a Super Bowl to Chicago?
  18. He’s saying that hiring Rhule was a swing for the fences.
  19. Did I say it never fails? But it’s easily the best option over staying at 9 or signing a retread. And by the way, you haven’t seen anyone advocating for signing a retread? You must’ve missed the 42 different threads about Derek Carr. I’ve even seen folks on here say we should run it back with Darnold.
  20. It’s honestly tiring listening to folks on here bitch and moan about giving up draft capital + DJ to move up to 1, when their ideal solution is either to stay at 9 and take whatever QB leftover we can get (not considering there are 4 QB needy teams ahead of us), or sign a vet retread and see if it just miraculously works this time.
  21. It was mutually beneficial for both teams to get the deal done early. Us so that we know our QB option and have time to replace DJ, and them so they can strategize for the draft knowing where they pick, and they can enter FA knowing they don’t need to pursue a WR1
  22. You act like an early move can’t be mutually advantageous.
