I mean we gave up a metric ton for the pick.
If we get it wrong we've set the franchise back 3 years.
This feels a bit dramatic. The only assets we gave up that could hinder us were the 2024 1st and DJ. I love DJ but he's not impossible to replace. And that first rounder next year should be a late round pick.

Odd update from Ian Rapoport...
So I guess we can skip Levis since apparently he's already a Colt
Didn't he make a similar gaff when speaking about the Panthers? I can't remember if it was regarding Young or Stroud. It's either a slip of the tongue, or a showing of the cards.

Over the local guys who cover only the Panthers all the time?
No.

is it worth a listen or the same generic take?
So I've made it through him talking about Young and Stroud. He's very high on Young. He spent the entire time praising his traits and his movement, and downplaying worries about his size, saying that the modern game mitigates those concerns.
He repeated his talking point on Stroud by saying that if he could repeat his performance against Georgia every game then he could be a world class QB, but he hasn't seen the consistency. He is not a fan of Stroud's movement, although he does say Stroud a clinical technician from the pocket. He also uses the fact that Ohio State's WRs are so good that he's worried that Stroud is going to be in a situation where his receivers in the league are not as good as his WRs at OSU.

Not sure yet, I haven't listened. I'll let you know in an hour and half lol.

JT was a guest on Mina Kimes' podcast today discussing his QB rankings if y'all are interested in hearing more of what he has to say on the subject.

Still seems strange to me that they put the jerseys on sale just because the blue is changing to a slightly different blue. Oh well I guess.

It's official that we're not dropping the silver, though.
Doesn’t change the fact that the pants are not silver anymore, they’re gray.

I wonder if "stopping short of going under the armpit" means that the shoulder stripes will look like the new Patriots unis.

It just struck me as weird that you would say that us switching to white helmets would make us more like the Cowboys, when both the Cowboys and the Panthers currently have silver helmets. If anything I'd think you'd want us to move away from silver helmets (and pants, for that matter) if you have that much of an aversion to resembling the Cowboys.

The Bengals announced their uni update 10 days before the draft in 2021.

It's only a matter of time before the announcement is made. I have a feeling Arizona's timeline for announcing their uniform change got moved up in order to try and divert attention away from the lawsuit.

He might end up being right, but the word from the Panthers about that decision not being made yet is very believable.
He might end up being right in the same way that you might end up being right if you call "heads" on a coin flip.

These random twitter created jersey renderings just make me concerned we'll let Nike butcher a classic. Sometimes when you try too hard to make something different it ends up a mess. Keep it simple and subtle.
They have about as much sway on our new unis as the Twitter GMs do on who we're drafting.

Hooker is not going 1st round, and I don't think Levis will either. Richardson will go mid 1st round and Stroud/Young (or vice versa) will go 1, 2.

Way too many of the designs I've seen look like they were inspired by the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers or a comic book villain or some other such thing.
Don't care to see that.
It's just random people with access to the Adobe Suite and a little time to kill, I wouldn't let it keep you up at night.

Chris Mortensen: Bryce Young is the pick, they all love Bryce Young
in Carolina Panthers

The draft is not the only way to replace WR production. And unless I'm mistaken, one of the factors that led to us trading CMC was to amass draft capital in order to move up for a QB.
At the end of the day I just don't think this trade leaves us in as dire a position as you're making it seem.
