Taking a quick gander at the ever growing death toll of this virus might make you think differently, but then again that require empathy on your part. Also, we don't know that the people who survive initially will be "100% fine" in the long run. We don't know what the long term affects are.

2 or 3?? You're telling me that out of Steve Smith, Julius Peppers, Cam Newton, Luke Keuchly, and Thomas Davis that Greg Olsen deserves it more than 3 or 4 of those guys? And besides, the whole retiring numbers thing is a dumb concept, especially as it gets played out over a long period of time. Just look at the Yankees whose numbers basically start in the 30s because so many numbers have been retired and can't be used. Honor the person and their achievements, not the number.
