  1. That's a pretty decent argument for taking one, but I think if we're gonna go that route, it should happen next year. DE/WR are too big of a need this year.
  2. Adding tackle depth with a first round pick is fugging ridiculous, even if you disregard all of our other more intense needs. I knew most of these mock drafters don't pay attention to the Panthers or have a firm understanding of team needs outside of the glaringly obvious, but this is just taking the piss.
  3. This place would implode like a neutron star if we offered a Daniel Jones-caliber QB $45 mil a year.
  4. Seems that every year the first 10 picks are always predicted to be QB heavy. Sometimes they're right, sometimes they're wrong, but it does seem that even when there are several QBs taken in the first round, they're, on average, not taken as highly as they were mocked.
  5. I trust this staff, so if they collectively identify someone that they're willing to move up for, then I'm all for it.
  6. There are question marks around 98% of all QB draft prospects. I bet you would've been livid if you were a Chiefs fan that just watched your team trade two firsts and a third to move up and grab Mahomes, who at the time was the furthest thing from a solid pick. Sometimes you have to make the move.
  7. Exactly. Folks on here have a trading back fetish. Just get your guy if he's there.
  8. I am unfamiliar with him, but Portland fans seem upset to see him go.
  9. So if "the closest thing to an NFL strength and conditioning program outside of the NFL" didn't think it necessary for him to bulk up more then what's the issue? Unless you're saying he physically can't gain 15 pounds worth of muscle, which I find unlikely. Also this hallowed strength and conditioning program produced the dad bod having Mac Jones as well.
  10. Listen I was just clearing up what I perceived to be a misunderstanding. Your qualm is not with me.
  11. Yeah I mean ideally if you can trade down and get some extra picks and still get your guy then that's the move. But I've also never been a huge proponent on trading down solely for value's sake. If you reach a bit but still get your guy, then do it.
  12. That's exactly why we need to spend our 1st rounder on a stud WR if we sign Carr. That's my whole point lol.
  13. Who said anything about wanting/not wanting. We're discussing the hypothetical.
  14. Yeah you're right, having a great new WR doesn't help at all.
  15. Indy jumps to 1 and they take Stroud or Young. Houston at 2 then takes the other one of the two. That leaves us sitting at 3 with both top QBs gone, and probably drafting someone we could've gotten at 9.
  16. I think he's saying that the reason we're the favorite is because of how many QB reclamations Tepper has overseen so far, and assuming that we'll continue doing that with a new staff. That's why it's lazy.
  17. If we go this route, our #9 pick needs to be the best WR on the board.
  18. Am I wrong for think that this hire basically cements that we'll have to trade up to 1 to get our QB? If we trade to 3, the Colts trade to 1, and the top two QBs are off the board by the time we pick. With Saturday, I thought the likelihood of them going Levis at 4 was pretty high. Now that they've made Steichen their guy, I'm more worried it will be a competent QB pick.
  19. "There's no QB worth a trade-up, wait until next year". Repeat every year as needed.
  20. I'm hoping that seeing Darnold sh*t the bed first hand will make McCown want absolutely fug all to do with bringing ol' Sammy back.
  21. Will Kunkel is sometimes right, sometimes wrong. I don't think he waits until he has full confirmation before he tweets out a scoop because he wants to be the first to break it. I don't trust anything he says until its been corroborated by more reliable sources.
