  1. Today's NFL is the most QB friendly it’s ever been. A normal hit on the QB is roughing the passer and the league has no intentions of changing that.
  2. The FO is being coy about releasing any details, even with the 1 pick. They’re still throwing smokescreens about “being open” to trading down from 1. I’m not sure what their long game is but I’m not willing to preemptively call it a failure.
  3. Nothing is going to be proven until draft night. If you’re looking for them to announce who they’re picking right now then you’re going to come up wanting. I’m bummed about losing DJ but I understand that it was all part of the calculus of obtaining a franchise QB. I’m going to withhold judgement until all FA and draft moves have been made.
  4. All signs are pointing to it being Stroud, with Young also being possible.
  5. I mean that might be the case if FA and the draft didn’t exist. You act like we’re gonna add a QB and nothing else.
  6. So if you have no problem trading picks for Stroud, then why have you been spamming every thread complaining about the move? Do you really believe that DJ is going to be the key move that delivers a Super Bowl to Chicago?
  7. He’s saying that hiring Rhule was a swing for the fences.
  8. Did I say it never fails? But it’s easily the best option over staying at 9 or signing a retread. And by the way, you haven’t seen anyone advocating for signing a retread? You must’ve missed the 42 different threads about Derek Carr. I’ve even seen folks on here say we should run it back with Darnold.
  9. It’s honestly tiring listening to folks on here bitch and moan about giving up draft capital + DJ to move up to 1, when their ideal solution is either to stay at 9 and take whatever QB leftover we can get (not considering there are 4 QB needy teams ahead of us), or sign a vet retread and see if it just miraculously works this time.
  10. It was mutually beneficial for both teams to get the deal done early. Us so that we know our QB option and have time to replace DJ, and them so they can strategize for the draft knowing where they pick, and they can enter FA knowing they don’t need to pursue a WR1
  11. You act like an early move can’t be mutually advantageous.
  12. The replies to this tweet, and Twitter in general, are all saying that we got absolutely fleeced.
  13. If he's serious about wanting to go to a contender, then that ain't us yet. Granted every FA says they want to go to a contender, but some are swayed when the money comes talking.
  14. First, technically it would be trading away two years of first round picks, as we'd be receiving back a first round pick this year. Second, you assume the Bears can accurately grade a QB, and would overcome their sunk-cost fallacy and make the "logical" decision to move on from Fields. Third, it's not about how good the prospects actually are, it's how NFL teams perceive how good they are. Caleb Williams may be the next Mahomes, or he may be the next Zach Wilson. But if teams perceive that he's the next Mahomes, then that top pick is not going to be for sale, regardless of how good he actually ends up being. There's no perception with this class that there's a Manning/Luck/Lawrence prospect, which is why the pick is being talked about as up for grabs.
  15. Lmao you know he was referring to Trubisky not Fields.
  16. To me he's got Joe Webb written all over him.
  17. If we stay at 9 we'll have to make do with the leftovers of teams who got to pick better QBs. I'd get comfortable with the idea of the Panthers trading up because it's looking close to certain it will happen.
  18. Young will accomplish more on his rookie contract than Hooker will in his entire career.
  19. we've got 49 days left, which is about the same number of trade scenarios to hypothesize about, and the same number of QBs we'll be linked to.
  20. Oh I see what you're saying now. All the more reason to move up to 1
  21. I'd argue Wilson has suffered a worse NFL career so far. He's trending towards being out of the league by the time his rookie contract is up.
