Pauline believes it's Stroud, but Reich wants AR
travisura replied to top dawg's topic in Carolina Panthers
Josh McCown is not the only voice in the room, nor is he the most important voice in the room. Your opinion. Saying "The reality is..." before stating your opinion, doesn't change it from still being just your opinion. He didn't say that. He said if you move up you better have conviction. It is possible to have enough conviction on multiple candidates to decide to move up, then determine who your guy is after you've made the trade. I'm seeing a whole lot of speculation based off of nothing but your own opinion here. -

I'm perfectly fine with Young. I don't think the injury concern is a big enough reason to not take him, if the staff feels that he's the guy. But I'm also not going to act like the concerns regarding his size are "imagined". You can want Young and still be realistic. -

The problem is that the exact same logic that you're using to claim we moved up for CJ, is also being used to claim we moved up for AR. -

We're talking about a difference of a couple of pounds. Essentially the difference is nonexistent in terms of weight, but keep telling yourself what you need to to get by. Like others have said, if you're concerned about CJ's injury likelihood because of his size then Young shouldn't be on your draft board at all. This is why it's so easy to discern where your argument is really coming from. -

No one here is being uncivil. Your argument hinges on your assertion that CJ is smaller than Tua, and that's just not the case. You're just coping because most folks are worried about Young's small frame and you're trying to conjure any reason you can as to why we should also be worried about CJ. -

If you're trying to claim that we need to be worried about CJ getting injured because he's a similar size to Tua, then Young shouldn't even be in the question. Young is considerably smaller, and has a smaller frame than both Stroud and Tua. I get it you like Young but come on man if you can't be throwing the "what if he gets injured" stone from within the Bryce Young glass house. -

You're squabbling over three pounds now? Ridiculous. -

Stroud is both taller and weighs more than Tua. I'm not sure why you're running with this narrative. -

Didn't he make a similar gaff when speaking about the Panthers? I can't remember if it was regarding Young or Stroud. It's either a slip of the tongue, or a showing of the cards.

JT O'Sullivan's QB Rankings for 2023
travisura replied to Ricky Spanish's topic in Carolina Panthers
So I've made it through him talking about Young and Stroud. He's very high on Young. He spent the entire time praising his traits and his movement, and downplaying worries about his size, saying that the modern game mitigates those concerns. He repeated his talking point on Stroud by saying that if he could repeat his performance against Georgia every game then he could be a world class QB, but he hasn't seen the consistency. He is not a fan of Stroud's movement, although he does say Stroud a clinical technician from the pocket. He also uses the fact that Ohio State's WRs are so good that he's worried that Stroud is going to be in a situation where his receivers in the league are not as good as his WRs at OSU. -

JT was a guest on Mina Kimes' podcast today discussing his QB rankings if y'all are interested in hearing more of what he has to say on the subject. -
Still seems strange to me that they put the jerseys on sale just because the blue is changing to a slightly different blue. Oh well I guess.

Doesn’t change the fact that the pants are not silver anymore, they’re gray.

I wonder if "stopping short of going under the armpit" means that the shoulder stripes will look like the new Patriots unis.

It just struck me as weird that you would say that us switching to white helmets would make us more like the Cowboys, when both the Cowboys and the Panthers currently have silver helmets. If anything I'd think you'd want us to move away from silver helmets (and pants, for that matter) if you have that much of an aversion to resembling the Cowboys.
