  1. I sure miss the Ron days of win one season lose one season. Don't you?
  2. Today's games are weird. Almost everyone who's supposed to be winning is losing. Not the case here tho. Looks like another beautiful season. This is bad. This is the worst start we could possibly have.
  3. I've been bouncing around all morning waiting for this game. I know I shouldn't but I just can't help myself. Tropical punch koolaid is waiting in the fridge and a little bottle of vodka is there too just in case. Nah, for sure because why not? Go Panthers!!!
  4. They have the Saints on the wrong side of the bus too though.
  5. Madden also predicts we win today. So it must be true.
  6. Week 1 of the 2024 season is finally upon us. The moment we've all been waiting for has arrived. After much debate and suffering, we Panther's fans finally get to see our new team under new HC Canales. There's very little hope around for the new season with most fans just too damaged after consecutive years of terrible Panther's football that expectations are low with most set on being content if the Panther' can just win 4-5 games and not finished dead last again. This morning I went to the NFL network to see the game predictions fully expecting the Saints to be the unanimous choice to win today but much to my surprise that wasn't the case. One brave writer is swimming against the flow and has picked Carolina to win today's game in New Orleans versus the hated Saints. That's right, Gannaro says we're gonna win this one and this is why. As you can see above. He believes the changes we've made on offense this off season will be the difference maker against our division foe. The Saint's roster is old but they are under a new offensive system for the first time in years. Their offensive line is bad and he says we've done more to improve ours so he's giving us the nod in game 1. I want to believe. I really do, and as the game approaches I can't help but look at my refrigeratore where and have a freshly made pitcher of Tropical Punch Kool-aid chilling before game time. Over the next few hours I and we have a tough decision to make. To drink or not to drink, that is the question. So fans, are you drinking the Kool-aid today or not? Please tell us your beverage today and why.
  7. I wonder why this emphasis is happening now. Were OTs taking advantage of it a lot before? With all the rules' changes to protect the QB this seems to contradict that mentality. I'm okay with it but it seems strange to me. I'd prefer more focus on holding calls being more consistent honestly. They tend to have much more influence over games' outcomes usually. Perhaps that's why it isn't?
  8. Has any team ever finished last in 2 consecutive seasons? I can't remember one nor can I find an example on the internet. Also, this roster can't be as bad as last season's with all the changes made. My power rankings look like this. Every team in the NFL is 0-0 accept for KC and Baltimore. So, number 1 is KC, number 2 is the NFL and number 3 is Baltimore. Anything else means nothing.
  9. Yet, he's on the team for week 1. Looks to me like they were clever. He had a good game, got attention and then was cut. That was a red flag to teams and no one signed him. Then we we sign him like we always wanted him. That seems pretty smooth to me. ^^This^^
  10. Actually, he was considered a weak TE for ND because he was almost exclusively used as a blocker. They used him in a lot of plays designed specifically for him. Usually with him motioning across the backfield when the ball was snapped. They rarely threw him the ball. That was the concern with teams drafting him. No one knew if he could catch. I think Brooks fits in well with our 12 man offense. LBs will have to watch the TEs and Brooks, with his quickness he should be able to reach the 2nd level easily and have the potential for big runs. Plus he can catch the ball out of the backfield. I expect success from him receiving in the flats. I think we will also see Hubbard have a career season too. The contrast of their running styles could work well together.
  11. Who did we draft in his place? Wasn't it the new MLB who looked really good?
  12. I think my team expectations are about in line with most. 4-6 wins but I think Bryce is better than we give him credit for and with Canales as his coach we will see what he can do. I think he will play better than most people's expectations. He will play like a first rounder this year and show us he can be our QB for the future.
  13. Oldest teams: #Dolphins - 27.3 - PLAYOFFS #Vikings - 27.2 #Panthers - 27.2 #Commanders - 27.2 #Browns - 27.1 - PLAYOFFS #Steelers - 27.1 . PLAYOFFS #49ers - 27.1 - SUPERBOWL
  14. I like our waiver moves and following cuts. I'm happy we signed Plummer to the PS. Now, I hope we can sign Coker there as well. I like his RZ ability. I wouldn't be surprised is we signed ISM there too. He's going to be our future center I think.
  15. I hope so. I wanted us to draft him and was thrilled when we signed him anyway. He was great at college and looks good now too. I think he could be too. If we sign a QB I hope it's him. I thought he would make the 53 $ coaches and they all seem to keep him. There has to be something that we don't see for every coach to keep him.
  16. He made sonìme nice scrambles and throws on the run. That floater he threw for a TD was perfect and he threw a dart to the back of the EZ between defenders. I didn't expect that pass to make it tbh. Again, it wasn't perfect but that's exactly the type of play you want to see in a pre-season game from a rookie QB. Many of the highly drafted QBs don't have a game like that in their first pre-season. Not everyone can do some of the things he was doing in that game.
  17. I don't pay much attention to pre-season football in general accept for the last game. We all focused on Young and we were not disappointed. I've read many comments around here that Plummer had been pretty bad the first 2 games but I didn't watch those so I can't say. I may go back and watch him specifically if I have some time to waste. But against the Bills the undrafted rookie looked pretty dang good to me. He plays with energy. He moves around the pocket pretty well and he made some good throws. Looks like he goes through his progressions too. Was it perfect? No, but no one should expect it to be. But I saw potential in that game. I can understand why he's made it this far. For a rookie QB that was good. For an undrafted rookie QB that was fantastic. He played better in that game than Bryce did in his rookie pre-season. He needs time and coaching but if he can make the team, I think Canales could turn him into a legit NFL QB. I think that would be great for us. If he could develop into Dalton's replacement in a couple of years that would be a big win and if he looks good in that role he could one day lead to a big trade with a team desperate for a QB and help the game even more. Canales mentioned him immediately at the start of his presser. He said he took full advantage of his opportunity and I agree. I think he earned the spot for now. What about you? Did you see enough from Plummer against the Bills to think he should be our 3rd QB?
