Thank you my brother!!!! Thank you for understanding my point. No one who is ever drafted is a guaranteed success. That's just the way the world works. Pickett may be a bust but he may not be. I'm just saying that he has as good a chance as anyone else drafted top 10 in the last 5 years to be successful and that he's being ignored unfairly due to a media narrative that started last year. Everyone has become so negative that they just look for reasons to hate on everything. Not one person has denied his success last season. Normally, that would be enough to get people excited but drafting a player but not this year and the only reason I get to hate the idea is he had one good year. Last years' class had players that were praised but most had concerns about accuracy or character or mechanics but were absolutely draftable at 8. Yet a QB who has none of those issues is not because he had one successful season as a team. I don't get it.

Okay, this is different and cool. I agree with you here. It is rare for a one year wonder to come out of nowhere and play like Burrow has. Something in Burrow either clicked or people were ignoring what was right there the whole time. I have no idea which it is. Most don't start 4 years so even doing that is a bit different. Starting 4 years and having success all 4 years rarely happens. You get drafted before that. I'm just saying that to my knowledge there is no metric in past drafts to support the idea that only one good year is an issue when speaking about QBs who've started 4 years at a high level. These past seasons, one good year has been enough to be a top 10 draft pick in each and every draft. Why is this one different? The original post showed comments about Justin Herbert who had a similar situation and was not highly hyped. I added Burrow just to show people how good that season actually was. If you have a big problem with a player just finding his groove then that's fine but it's a boring argument that doesn't permit further discussion. It's already been discussed in great detail. In he end there's nothing that can be said, debated or analyzed any further. It all comes down to whether you consider that important or not. You do. I don't. So, I'm moving on as I like talking about things like evaluating skills, debating talent, or analyzing stats. Let me pull an Em, Yes, Kenny is 23 and he was a 4 year starter. He found his step in his Senior season and dominated his ACC competition to take all the major Offensive Awards. His season ranks up there with the best of the young QB drafted in the last 5 years. But it was just 1 season after having 3 mediocre seasons. For some this is a shame that he can never be shaken. For others it's a petty excuse to hate on someone that doesn't fit the physical qualifications or the media adoration. To each their own.

Tell me the last QB drafted who WAS good for more than 1 season, please. Again, no facts just regurgitated opinion about 1 year success. That's weak. and smh to you too whatever that means. Go read some evaluations and find a new reason to not draft Pickett please. The one season argument is almost as old as it is dumb.

And yet Mac Jones had the best season of all the QBs drafted in 2021. Not a good argument at this point my friend. Maybe when the other 4 don't play poorly or at please play some and do better, then maybe it's an ok point but still based on random views. Still, no one is critiquing his performance this season. I'm waiting.

I think it's funny that the best reason anyone seems to have for not drafting Pickett is that he didn't dominate the ACC every year he played. At least critique his last season as that's the only one which matters. I guess Drew Brees sucked because his first years in the NFL he wasn't that good. Tom Brady sucked because he didn't even play a full season at Michigan. C'mon y'all. It's what have you done for me lately that matters most.

Go ahead and create a Rhule sucks thread or include it in the Watson one and tell everyone to include all of those posts there too while you're at it. That way you and the rest of the upper ranks only need to open one thread and the rest of us can have quality discussions about the Panthers off season.

It took them 4 years too. Did you read the stats you posted dude? You keep making my arguments for me. But I do appreciate your opinions even if they counter your argument. Pickett is only 23. How old were they when they got drafted? 22? I'm not sure as I think it's not a very good point. Maybe if he was 28 but not 23. How old is Cam now and what's he doing? I don't mean to put down Cam as he was great for us but just showing the flaw in your take on age.

I agree with this. I really do as I also was going into this off season dreaming of the 3rd best LT coming here. However, I don't follow college football and I ignore the media leading up to this part of the off season as I like to form my own opinions about guys. I knew very little about Pickett coming into this but I started watching his tape last week. I was impressed and started reading up on him, watching interviews and I watched his combine. That's when I changed my mind. No one here ever heard me say anything about Picket until recently at that's because I had no opinion besides taking an LT at 6 or trading down. But after studying him I changed my mind completely. Enough so that I'm will to push what I know is an unpopular opinion openly. I'm no expert and I don't claim to be but I've followed this stuff for many years and have learned what things teams look for in a QB and I see all of those things. The only possible red flags are little things (pun intended) like hand size and pass distance. The hands are nitpicking and not really that important much lack arm length for LTs (no?) and while he doesn't throw the ball 60+ yards, how often do QBs need to throw it that far and he can throw it between 50-55 yards and perfectly. His passes at that range at the columbine were PERFECT. He also has shown the same ability during games. He hits his receivers in stride and right in the numbers at that range. I cannot find any other negatives in his game. He throws well in and out out of the pocket off both feet and extends play with his athleticism and mobility. Plus he's actually faster than average. When I watched him I said to myself "well this class may be weak but this guy certainly isn't." So I changed my mind and jumped on the Pickett train. Forget what they say, forget what you've read and just really evaluate the player and he has everything a team could ask for. No pick is 100% including the LTs, at least one will likely bust, but when you have a shot a a franchise QB you have to take it. LTs are important, yes, but QBs are more important and we have 30m going into FA and there are many options available plus we have Christianson who showed signs of being able to play LT if we can't find a better option.

Auburn, 2010 NCAA Champs LSU, 2019 NCAA Champs Not making excuses but as you can see from your own evidence that Pickett had better career numbers than BOTH Burrow AND Cam and a much better final season than Cam did. They also played for better teams in their final seasons. But they also kind of prove my point. They were the top picks of their drafts. Pickett at 6 is a steal. If he compares so closely to those 2 players why wouldn't we want him at pick 6? Your own evidence shows that Pickett had a better college career than Can Newton who we drafted number 1 overall and who lead us to a SB and is the best QB of our Franchise. Why would you NOT want to draft Kenny Pickett at number 6 then? You also said "Maybe he just figured it out but I wouldn’t come close to comparing him to other one year wonders like Burrow and Cam." Okay, fair enough but why?

True, but I'm not only going off that. I'm just not going to repeat every reason why he's my guy in every single post I make. Things like size, arm, competition as well as systems are important too. Pickett checks all the boxes and has the stats against high level competition which make the difference.

My first thought was "is that real?" I'm not saying it is or isn't. I personally don't want Watson here regardless of that situation but all I can see there is a typed page talking about the case. I have no idea where it comes from or who typed it. For all I know Zod typed it. It really doesn't mean anything unless it's verified as authentic. DRAFT KENNY PICKETT!!!
