  1. I more often end up just rewatching games after the fact or using other "alternatives" for live games. I mean I couldn't even watch a fuging summer league game without a subscription. This sh*t is beyond out of hand.
  2. CJ Stroud is 23 years old and already has 2 more career playoff wins than our legendary backup. It really isn't that up in the air.
  3. No one here is going to argue with the fact that Reich was not up to the task and ultimately beyond his expiration date in the NFL. And yes many of the things Colts fans said comically came to fruition here. At the same time. We also don't need to go around doing the Tepper's bidding by blaming it solely on him. Because there is also the reality that even after we fired Reich the offense worsened. And even after purging his staff firing our GM and hiring a new coach the Panthers started out last season with two of the ugliest games in franchise history. Let's process the entire picture here but also recognize Reich was a convenient scapegoat as well.
  4. All one has to do is look around the NFL and look at the teams without cemented elite QB's and see that they're front offices and coaching staffs are not content with just having a QB pushing 40 and an afterthought UDFA behind their penciled in starter. And no matter how optimistic we are about Bryce Young given how he finished last season the position is anything but cemented by him. If someone out there thinks that the Panthers are ahead of the curve above these other teams some of which have actually been to the playoffs at any point in the last decade that's their prerogative but it's sheer fantasy at this point.
  5. The day he finally unloads the happenings of that entire process will be very entertaining. It will be very unkind to the Tepper's to say the least.
  6. 9 million on Adam Thielen and 8 million on Andy Dalton (over 100 million in career earnings now) while we have nothing at linebacker is certainly a look. Hey we're just happy to be here!
  7. It was a necessary pick given our circumstances. Reaching for a linebacker at 8 would have been rough.
  8. Could have easily gotten Sam Howell in a trade. At the end of the day it seems there are several competitive teams that value legitimate young competition in their QB room because you never know what can happen throughout the course of a 17 game season.
  9. You spent months "crashing out" in defense of Teddy Bridgewater. The high horse persona is just as played out as any trolling you accuse others of.
  10. You would. But this regime has bent over backwards to surround our #1 pick with top end talent after early on bloviating about not needing to invest so much around him because he's that good. So there's only so much to go around. Especially when we are 4th in OL spending.
  11. I mean at this point the guy needs to prioritize his health and his life if he's been in the concussion protocol for months. Just hang it up and go live. Best of luck to him and his family. As for the state of the linebacker group in general. Just go young and rebuild. Shaq Thompson was not going to save that unit no matter how much some folks might want to convince themselves otherwise. Gotta let it go and reset.
  12. Hahahahaha. Hey at least Hunter Renfrow is still in his twenties. Plenty of juice left in the tank.
  13. I reserve the poo reaction for human garbage and bigotry. Anyways I would say these are unpopular takes solely because people are wanting to be upbeat and I get that. I am trying to be in the same boat. My optimism resides within the young talent that we have on the roster and the hope that Canales will develop them. I like the additions we've made in that area and I've said so. But when we have aging and debatably washed up vets at key areas that have held us back for years (QB/WR) that's where I'm going to be bluntly realistic. We've done the same with the NBA franchise here and signing Mason Plumlee. Except the Hornets have the trade deadline and Plumlee might not even be here to finish the season and the Hornets have a plethora of youth on their roster now. And the development of said youth talent does not hinge on one other player. Unlike the Panthers. QB is the most consequential position. None of this should be considered controversial.
  14. Warren over Tmac is certainly a take... We'll see how their respective rookie seasons play out and revisit.
  15. We picked up UDFA Ethan Garbers too. I mean we are comically bad at QB if Bryce Young hits a rough stretch. And despite the current rationalizations here in July nobody is going to want to be subjected to watching Andy Dalton start at QB for more than 1 or 2 games because it will get ugly sooner rather than later and people will be talking cold hard poo about it you can bet your bottom dollar on that.
  16. I've had multiple people spam poo reactions and argue with me until they are blue in the face over the current realities of both Dalton and Thielen. I'm gonna just go ahead and completely disagree with you bud.
  17. Ultimately sounds like a signing that would be a slight upgrade over what we already had in Ian Thomas. I'd probably just be more interested in giving the young TE's those touches.
  18. We saw the true Andy Dalton against the Commanders and the Bears. Let's also not forget that. The issue with any of those worst case scenarios you mention is that if any of that happens any chance at our young roster developing in a critical year goes out the window because they are not going to develop with Andy and they certainly aren't going to develop with whichever UDFA QB we have on the roster at QB3. The Panthers took a gamble. The bed has already been made. All we can do is hope it works out.
  19. Pretty much anything and everything remotely critical said about the Panthers in some way or another leads back to Bryce hate in your mind.
  20. I wouldn't be opposed to weighing it as an option but I don’t agree with presenting it as a major missed opportunity if we don't. Upon reading some comments on Reddit from fans of his recent teams he basically makes virtually no effort to block and does not like contact. The plus side is he will have some big games but then eventually completely disappear. All in all sounds like the quintessential Panthers TE.
  21. Icky is going to get paid big regardless. All we can do is hope he will slam the door on any lingering doubts this season.
  22. My issue really isn't about Dalton's phsyical ability at this point. Although it should be noted the fact we've had to bring him in for a hail mary attempt is comical. As far as teaching Bryce the basics of carrying himself as a QB that's fine. However that should be pretty well wrapped up by now in year 3. In the decision making department though...ehhhh. I'd rather not see much of Dalton rubbing off on Bryce Young all homerism aside. There was some discussion about dropping a mid or late rounder on a QB but it didn’t come to fruition and maybe it was for the best. Some people viewed it as either an unnecessary use of resources or not helpful to Bryce's comfortability. There was validity to either viewpoint. But someone has to be right and someone has to be wrong. We'll just have to revisit this in the fall. Hopefully the offense is developing and it's not something that will be a relevant subject. But as we know with our Panthers it's usually not that cut and dry. But I'm going to try and have faith in Canales and company until they give me reason not to.
  23. I'm bummed about losing PJ Hall. I hope he doesn't come to make us regret that. But this is the Hornets we're talking about.
  24. Ultimately I think this boils down to a difference in personal perception of the situation. And also simple rationalizing because it's still July. I mean let's go back to Cam's rookie season. Anderson was 28. Clausen was still on the roster he was 24. We've basically had Tommy Pickles and his Grandpa Lou Pickles at QB 1 and QB 2 and people are coming at me like I'm unreasonable. Which amuses me. I hope we can at least agree a thumb sprain (lol) was just an excuse to get Andy back on the bench.
