Problem is we had Matt Rhule who had no interest in developing a green QB. We also had Scott Fitterer who was worse at drafting than even Marty Hurney. They both were more concerned with instant results. Why would we keep him past his prime? You guys need to be consistent between players. For years I heard about how the Panthers can't consistently win because of emotional attachment to players past their best days. But at the end of it all you don't absolutely need a highly paid running back to compete for and win a championship. There's more than one way to build a team. I'm hoping Dan Morgan is the guy to do that.

If you ask me if he's talented I'll tell you yes clearly very talented. One of the better backs I've seen. There have definitely been better though. If you ask me if I'd rather have him here versus the near nothing we have now. Sure. But we could not keep him his massive salary cap hit build a great OL acquire a franchise QB and compete for a Super Bowl all at once in that window. Sorry that's reality. You boys can poo posts and root for the Niners to win their 6th Super Bowl if it makes you feel better. I'm good on all that.

Happy for what exactly? He plays for a team that is possibly going to bring another Lombardi Trophy to a franchise that already has 5 of them. He rarely misses any playing time now. Hey good for him. Wish we could have seen that here when we had a huge chunk of our salary cap tied into him.

Bouknight gone and Grant Williams already took his number lol. Whatever else we may do we are sending a clear message to the team that lazy bullshit isn't going to cut it anymore. Hopefully our current highest paid player is taking note.

Mitch pulled a Scott Fitterer. It's best to try to look away. The reminder only hurts.

It's totally weird to fixate on being nearly dead last in yards after the catch when we had the lowest scoring offense in the league and probably an even worse offense than 2010? Whether it's Bryce Young or whoever is at QB we need speed and I'm not talking about DJ Chark. For some reason Panthers fans have it in their heads that Adam Theilen is something more than he is because we force fed him the ball. We could make a run at an FA but that would just be repeating the same mistakes thinking we're a signing away from contention. We aren't going to win much next season just start over.

I don't really like losing PJ but it is what it is. He was always really hot or really cold. Good luck to him.

Even if he were bitter I wouldn't blame him one bit. I like Steve he's a good man. Seems like his ceiling is Ron Rivera. Nothing wrong with that. All the same my feelings are fug the 49ers 7 days a week.

Chicago sun times: Julius Peppers selected to hall of fame
frankw replied to electro's horse's topic in Carolina Panthers
Congrats to Julius. Not a bad day. Peppers to the HOF. Gordon Hayward someone else's problem. I'll take it. -
Finally...

I would stay the course with LaMelo at least through next season to see how he and the rest of the team respond to a new staff and a new front office. All that being said. That will come with no uncertain terms that the bullshit is over with. Players that don't give a damn to put in any effort can be shown the door. James Bouknight? Peace. As far as comparing him to McCaffrey or Moore? Cmon.... Combined CMC and Moore's contracts are only a fraction of the contract Ball signed. Both were also more mature and aware enough not to be seen casually yucking it up with low effort players on the sideline while they were injured and the team was getting blown off the field. I think most fans want LaMelo here. But they also want him to actually care about basketball. We'll see what happens.

Maybe he wants to see it more than one game and not against one of the worst performing secondaries in the league. Some people have standards. Wild concept for some here apparently.
-
I mean did he do well? He was 48th out of 50 in YAC...

As far as I've seen one maybe two people still held a somewhat favorable opinion of Scott Fitterer's roster building ability before he was finally relieved of his duties. In the end all of the what if scenarios about what we could done differently or who we could have hired or drafted or signed and even CJ Stroud himself can't change Bryce Young's phsyical build. Bryce needs to live in the weight room this offseason if there is hope. We'll see.
-
Of course he did. He's extending a lifeline to his good friend and also a fellow athlete. He's a good person and also exhibits striking leadership ability that absolutely blows those foolish pre-draft notions out of the water. But make no mistake. He knows the Panthers fuged up. He wouldn't have worn that Kobe Bryant Hornets shirt otherwise. And even in taking the high road like this he is still rubbing the Tepper's noses in it. Hey good for him.

Mitch was smart enough to take Brandon Miller but he's still an unconscionable idiot for that trade.

I don't doubt that the Commanders are not appealing and a messy situation but Ben Johnson himself sounds arrogant and self absorbed. Stay in Detroit bitch.

The Curious Case of Canales’ Coordinator
frankw replied to electro's horse's topic in Carolina Panthers
You are too personally invested in this it really isn't that deep. Only two things matter. Can he coach? And can Dan Morgan actually build a roster? Stay tuned. -
I'm with you on Miller. I was skeptical before the draft. I couldn't be happier to see him playing as well as he is. He also looks like one of the only players that actually gives a damn. Who would hate on him at this juncture? Depending on where we will pick in the upcoming draft I would absolutely entertain all scenarios to upgrade our team and most importantly the culture. Only untouchables at this point should be Miller and Mark.
-
Exactly. If this were happening to one of our division rivals every one of these people would be laughing their asses off.
-
The only grievances I'm seeing so far are all from posters who have been toxic toward the rest of the board over honest assessment of our #1 pick. It's hilarious.
-
They engage others just as much if not more than they are engaged. Furthermore the pro Young/against Stroud guys were extremely toxic in the lead up to and in the months that followed the draft. I didn't hear a peep out of you about that.

It's amusing going back and reading this stuff. It reads like sheer fantasy. For comparison sake and honestly an even better laugh read their grade for Stroud. The lazy hot takes did not age well at all. https://www.nfldraftbuzz.com/player/Coleridge-Stroud-QB-OhioState
