  1. Couple contributing factors. 1. We've been dreadful. 2. We're owned by the Tepper's. 3. Last years fanfest was pretty much the same as far as attendance and overall enthusiasm level. And I distinctly remember the people who did attend and make an effort to watch summarizing it as basically a shitshow. Then we proceeded to rest the starters for all of preseason and got the doors blown off weeks 1 and 2. All of the above is a recipe for what you see. Now if the Panthers look good in preseason and start the season off with some fight and swagger you will see people come back. Right now it just is what it is.
  2. The way some people here speak about the guy you would think he was a first ballot hall of famer. How many other competitive franchises are agonizing over 35 year old WR's? Are the Texans? The oldest WR on their roster is 29. They have two playoff wins in 2 years. Is the goal competing and winning in the postseason or....?
  3. That's true but the reality is even with Mack the teams he's joined haven't won anything of note and certainly haven't sniffed a championship which is what it's all about if you're making trades of that magnitude. As for Parsons talent level he could reach greater heights than Mack though I would personally refrain from mentioning anyone in the same breath as Lawrence Taylor. Different generation different mentality altogether IMO. The league and the world around it is very different now.
  4. At this point I'll just be glad and relieved to see the young guys take over regardless. Nothing against Renfro or Thielen they seem like great guys but the back and forth between these two is just tiring.
  5. The elephant in the room is this is the Panthers we're talking about. Who knows when we're going to be truly competitive again and for how long anyways. And at the end of the day you still need that guy behind center. Teams that traded for Khalil Mack thought they hit the big time. Haven't accomplished anything.
  6. Parsons to Peppers comparison is an interesting one. Julius played 17 seasons though. I have a hard time seeing anywhere near the same for the newer generations of players. So many variables and distractions now. Aaron Donald only played 10 seasons. Von Miller is only in his 13th season but he's gotta be as close as he can be to done at this point. It's just a different league now.
  7. Parsons is 26 Derrick Brown is 27. Neither of them are that young. But they are both in their prime no doubt. If we didn't pass on him and Parsons were already here we could be having a different conversation or we could be having the same conversation as the Cowboys. It's all speculation. But we had our chance if we wanted him.
  8. The cap can certainly be worked around but we aren't exactly a representation of a franchise that has successfully accomplished this. Still no back to back winning seasons nearing a decade without a winning record. It is what it is.
  9. That's where things get murky. What's he asking? I mean we're entering waters where now second round rookies are getting fully guaranteed contracts. He wants a deal that will dwarf recent top defender contracts. Is he worth it? I can't say. He's certainly talented. But we are not one piece away and that's a one piece away move. We are still waiting to see Bryce have his breakout season in year 3. Let's be realistic.
  10. David Tepper is a meddler until proven otherwise. We're still waiting to see if he's truly evolved. Until then while he isn't Jerry Richardson he isn't necessarily better by comparison either.
  11. If he's miserable in Dallas I do not envision him living his best life here under the Tepper's. Just the truth.
  12. It's practice but the issue is we've seen it in live games. Plus that ball traveled through the air for an eternity. Which we've also seen.
  13. Trading a productive locker room leader who wants to be here for a guy who is currently a malcontent in Dallas sounds like a recipe for a shitshow I agree.
  14. I edited the post to add more info about the most recent history of the two firsts trade package. https://www.baltimorebeatdown.com/2023/3/6/23627251/3-recent-nfl-trades-including-two-first-round-draft-picks-khalil-mack-trade-tunsil-trade-watson Honestly with how teams are gearing so heavily with analytics I have a hard time believing a team will actually cave to those demands this go around.
  15. I don't think the two firsts is going to go down. We've seen teams posture with that demand but when is the last time it actually happened? Watson Tunsil Mack In that order. The Watson package alone is enough to put an end to these wild trades. But the other two certainly don't help either.
  16. It's practice but we definitely need to see Bryce work on underthrowing those back of the end zone passes. These are issues opposing defenses already know about it's on film.
  17. The first sentence of that second tweet.....
  18. Hey man if you're skeptical I can respect that. But Armanti Edwards? Cmon... That's a low blow. Let's at least be rational here and see how he looks in preseason.
  19. It's definitely one of the better and more memorable catches. But the "best" IMO is undisputed because it has yet to be topped.
  20. We started out last season with two of the ugliest lopsided losses in franchise history after holding out our starters for most of preseason. And before that in camp our defense actually looked halfway formidable against our offense. That same defense ended up being one of the worst ever. Skepticism is justified until we see some good results early in the season whether folks like it or not. That comes with the territory of not having a winning season in going on 8 years now.
  21. I still remember this game. I was so excited for our new WR. Could have been another Mike Evans. Sometimes guys just never fulfill their potential for a number of reasons. Sad but it's life.
