  1. At this point if you're arguing against common sense on this issue just go ahead and put David Tepper's mug in your avatar and make it official. Tired of people lining up to cape for this incompetence.
  2. Why do we keep circling back to this being about a savior? Nobody is asking for a franchise QB. We aren't looking for "the" answer. We're looking for someone younger with any level of potential that will give this young offensive roster the chance to develop in what is in all likelihood not going to be a winning season in the event Bryce Young goes backwards again. Nobody in this offense is going to develop one iota with Andy Dalton Jack Plummer or Bryce Perkins. This is about what is best for our young roster. We cannot afford to continue squandering these seasons of potential development if we ever want to establish a new core and begin making a playoff push at any point before 2030.
  3. FYI their backup QB Davis Mills has a playoff win. That's more than our entire QB room. But go off.
  4. As far as this list goes. It's largely popularity based. The Panthers have been a joke. The team has to prove they can successfully shed that reputation. Until then you won't see any Panthers on these lists.
  5. The entire draft scouting department should have been purged with Fitterer IMO. The fact there were no major changes was and is a bad sign.
  6. We have without question one of the worst QB rooms in the league and your key concern is people having the audacity to be talking about it lol.
  7. Stupid. Take the pick and use it to add a cheap rookie next year or package it to try and acquire some LB depth. If Bryce Young taking the next step as a first overall pick hinges on 35 year old Adam Thielen he's already cooked.
  8. Also to be abundantly clear. There is a ton of regular season game tape of Bryce Young looking just as flustered and skittish as the way he did in preseason against the Texans so if your position is it's irrelevant well that's too bad because sorry the word is already out to every defense we'll face.
  9. Coincidentally I've had people tell me him looking good in a joint practice is more important than preseason. So maybe you guys who are so eager to be sycophants should pick a position.
  10. In the interest of getting this thread back on track though... https://www.yahoo.com/sports/article/buccaneers-464-pound-rookie-desmond-141352443.html That is a LARGE man.
  11. The year 2025? Maybe you want to join us? Furthermore his rookie season is statistically one of the 5 worst on record in at least 2 decades and we had the worst passing offense in the league.
  12. Comfortability is the primary reason. They don't want to hurt Bryce's confidence. But I say if his confidence is that fragile that healthy competition which makes everyone better is enough for them to keep making Andy Dalton rich then Bryce was never going to be the guy anyway. Give me the QB who sees the competition amongst his peers and uses it to take it to the next level. Instead we get the guy who comes out looking like a deer in the headlights against the Texans after we've done everything possible to appease him. Definition of complacency.
  13. If Winston isn't a worthy mentor than Dalton sure as hell isn't either. People swear they want us to be a winning franchise but maybe we've been downbad too long if this is where we're at.
  14. Dalton threw 2 pick sixes in one game against the Cardinals in his final season with the Saints. We are not in a position to be judging other QB's for turnovers.
  15. But if you want to cape for this man go off brother.
  16. Agree to disagree. I am completely over paying terrible football players because they are nice or this or that. At least when Jerry Richardson did it we weren't absolute gutter trash every season.
  17. Correct. Like I said. Nearly three years ago the Saints who had a plenty long look at him said no thank you and goodbye. We saw fit to not only push his career earnings over the $100 million hump but also try to build a culture around him. The results speak louder than words.
  18. Of course he's not the literal worst. But the problem is the price the team paid and the fact he's nearly 40. If you're going to keep around a low end backup go with a younger cheaper option. I mean as much as we say Jack Plummer is cheeks the guy is making very little by comparison.
  19. Howell should be a decent backup but at this point it is worth questioning if there is anything else at play given the number of times he's been traded. And to springboard from that it's almost laughable looking at how many other teams are playing musical chairs with their QB rooms continually churning and not being complacent while the lowly Panthers have been content with two of the worst backups in the league.
  20. I would put the chances of the Falcons trading with us a division rival at less than zero. Let the Falcons live with him.
  21. Welp. Let's just agree that we hope this Panthers team comes out swinging in Jacksonville here in a few weeks. Because if they lay a big egg early to start the season again they deserve any and all criticism.
  22. Can't help but notice you made it a point to fully throw our young TE under the bus for the drop but omitted the overthrow for a first down and Bryce panicking and moving himself into a sack in a play that honestly was extremely concerning for a third year QB who made instances like that all too common in the past. And that's not even mentioning a poorly thrown ball (penalty or no penalty) in the vicinity of a WR flanked by three defenders. It was very discouraging.
  23. The woe is me everything but Bryce sucks mantra is stale af my friend. Look nobody here is going to argue with the fact Frank Reich was not a good head coach. At the same time. Bryce Young is now in his second season with his second coaching staff and a handpicked young offensive head coach who has been known for working with QB's such as Baker and Geno. As far as the offensive pieces around Bryce we have the 4th highest salary cap allocation (that might be even higher now after the new Moton deal) dedicated to the OL in the entire league. We have 2 first round WR's one of them 8th overall the first time we've ever selected a WR that high in franchise history. And the fact of the matter is Bryce Young did not have a good preseason. It's not the first time it's happened either. We all hope to see he and the rest of the team flip a switch in week 1. But we should all be able to agree that the offensive performances we've seen from the entire QB room (Bryce included) in preseason was simply unacceptable.
  24. Sam Darnold and Baker Mayfield have the physical tools to overcome their deficiencies in other areas. Bryce Young does not. He was supposed to be mentally above his peers via his football IQ. That was supposed to his x factor that made himself stand out amongst other QB's and to overcome his average at best arm. Man I feel like you and some others here have a compulsion for making excuses for him. But you and others have fully flipped the script from before the draft. Nobody and I mean nobody who was heavily in favor of drafting Bryce Young was logging on here waxing poetic about how Bryce Young would need elite talent and elite coaching across the board to look like a top 20 QB. He was regarded as unequivocally the best QB in the draft and even the best player period in the draft. The revisionist history from some people here makes me laugh. It's certainly entertaining.
