  1. I actually would be kind of impressed if he showed that level of cockiness. If you're going to be the smallest on the field you better at least have some fire in your belly.
  2. You are taking rationalizing to an extreme. Yes the Panthers have been poorly ran to say the least. However both Mayfield and Darnold have the physical build and physical tools necessary to compete at this level. Mahomes? He's a generational phenom with every phsyical tool. Come on. Bryce still has to prove he can physically and mentally compete at this level against good teams. That's what we are waiting to see through the final stretch of the schedule.
  3. Lamar Jackson. They have a Lamborghini we have a tiny Fiat 2 seater.
  4. Most teams figured the Ravens wouldn't actually deal him though and it's valid. An MVP quarterback in his prime? That's career suicide by the part of the Ravens GM. Only someone like Scott Fitterer would be dumb enough for that.
  5. There is an argument to be made that Morgan is not strikingly different from Fitterer in some ways and in one particular way Hurney with these significant investments in RB with signing both Hubbard and trading up for an injured Brooks in the draft. If it works out great if it doesn't then it's going to be because everyone else in the league largely knows RB has become a more devalued position and operates as such going forward. The 49ers while McCaffrey was out had the league leading rusher who was undrafted.
  6. 8ish million a year is reasonable. We don't have a great history long term with paying backs second contracts. I like Chuba a lot as a player and a person so I hope he balls out and we don't regret it. But no one here can predict the future. We just have to wait and see how it pans out. If I have one issue with this contract it's the fact that our offense is still bottom of the league despite this signing. Obviously that's not because of Hubbard. But we have got to start getting some production from the QB room or purge the whole damn thing.
  7. Wow what a way to end it. Nice clutch win at home. They showed up big despite the circumstances. Love seeing the group play hard for one another.
  8. Yeah he needs the chance to draft and develop his own QB regardless I agree. Either way let's make this QB room much more competitive next season. No handing any guys jobs or reps. Everything earned.
  9. Sanders has the right mentality I knew that from how he spoke after we drafted him. Hopefully the young core can keep building their confidence and chemistry with one another. Now they just need to stay in games and keep competing.
  10. On Bryce I just don't know. Some people think they're already sold he's out regardless of the remaining games. But I think the powers that be are still clinging to hope they can salvage him and the whole trade. The way they're acting like Andy Dalton basically had his thumb amputated instead of it just being a sprain confirms such at least for me. TMJ was here through 3 head coaches I don't include him in that when assessing development. He was a lost cause already. I don't think most rational people think firing Canales after one season is going to solve our problems. Myself included. At the same time this franchise is never going to emerge from cellar/laughingstock status without some semblance of standards. Canales has been part of the problems that have ailed this team. And the truth of the matter is Dave Canales barely outmaneuvered fired coach Dennis Allen in a game that came down to a bobbled pass on 4th down. We need to see some fight in this team down the final stretch people here are used to losing anyways. Just go down swinging. That's all I'm expecting to see. These blowout losses like the ones against Chicago and Washington are not acceptable.
  11. Let me first say I like XL the player and his potential a lot. But he is definitively hot and cold at times. That's not to say he won't improve. That's just the current grade. We hired Canales to fix Bryce Young and develop the roster in what was assuredly going to be a lost season. Bryce Young is still statistically bottom 3 in the league and we've already shipped off two wide receivers. There's not much to rejoice over right now on the development front that's just an honest assessment. I don't see any point in hammering on one another over Bryce Young. I never said Tepper or any of the staff were analytics over everything I said it's been a key aspect in the process for the most part and it has. Tepper fell for Bryce Young the same way he fell for Matt Rhule. The guy has absolutely no clue what he's doing and is impulsive. That is why our franchise is in shambles.
  12. Wallace is still raw won't really know anything until at least next season. I'm going to be brutally honest and say other than Coker who seems to be developing by sheer determination and a chip on his shoulder for going undrafted I've seen very little development from the wide receivers this season. That's one of my biggest issues with Canales and his staff. Really need to see some strong bright spots for the second half of the season. All we know for certain on the subject that is the Young vs Stroud saga is that Tepper pushed for Bryce he told us even well before the draft he spoke to Bryce and informed him he wanted him to be a Panther. Like I said. We have only a small sample size by which to judge Morgan's tendencies in the draft. Have to wait until next year for more answers. But he needs multiple homerun picks in the next two drafts if he's going to be successful here. Even shitty Marty Hurney had some of those.
  13. Not comparing the players just the use of analytics which has been and remains a key part of the structure of our approach in the draft since David Tepper became owner. All I'm saying is going forward we just don't know if this team will stop drafting Jonathan Mingo type prospects because the scouts are largely the same and the approach largely remains the same. Morgan has said he seeks players with a certain mentality (I refuse to type the phrase because this team has gotten taken to the woodshed too many times this season so it falls on deaf ears now) that's really the only key difference I can see as of right now. Next years draft will tell us what we need to know.
  14. This is why he was drafted. And yes just like Scott Fitterer Dan Morgan also values RAS scores. Here's another one for you.
  15. The first part of your post you had me fully bought in. That last line though.... SOILED IT!
  16. He played at Alabama under one of the winningest coaches of the modern era. They beat the brakes off small schools because they're Alabama and Bryce could pretty much do whatever the hell he wanted behind that OL against that level of competition. But those games against Georgia and LSU stand out. That's how Bryce has looked in the NFL. Simply overmatched. That's why when you trade up to #1 for a QB you take the guy with the phsyical traits and the best arm. You play games and gamble on a point guard or the next Steph Curry and this is what you get.
  17. Pistons at home. Hopefully a get right game.
  18. This team and the center position is just maddening.
  19. All joking aside I'd be fine if Morgan were that ruthlessly honest. We need some of that here. But unfortunately every indication says he and Scott had a full on bromance going. They were legitimately good friends. I imagine there were some minor things they disagreed on but as far as approach to football they bonded because they shared many similarities. The best hope I can take from all that going forward is that Dan has gotten a firsthand look at a GM fail spectacularly and can apply that as a learning tool. But let's be real here. If this were one of our division rivals we would all be laughing our asses off at them for finding themselves in such a situation after so much losing.
  20. Bryce Young playing just decent enough for the rest of the season for the decision makers to justify standing pat at QB next season is a nightmare scenario that is possible. They've coddled him so much already nothing would surprise me.
  21. He got $44 million at signing and is due another 56 million. If we're ready to send QB's out of town on a rail with a kick in the ass then we can say that Robert Hunt needs to not have a bad game against the only defense in the league that is comparatively as bad as ours. I think that's reasonable.
  22. He's a locker room headache who thinks he's an all pro #1 WR when he's a solid second option. Our GM thought he was getting a bargain. Sadly not the case.
  23. In a few posts we've gone from Dan Morgan was against every bad decision Fitterer made to he also wanted CJ Stroud. It's cope season!
