  1. We've fired one head coach and an entire offensive staff over Bryce already. And we only got to see that staff with a different QB in one singular game. It's perfectly fine people are willing to give Canales at least a few games with a QB who is willing to make all the throws at the very least. As far as preseason goes yes many people were critical of sitting the starters the way we did. But with what we know now it looks like the coach was trying to protect Bryce's confidence. Let's think about it for a second. Bryce had been struggling throughout camp against our defense. The same defense that has been getting lit up by what 60 points in 2 games? Do you really think Canales and the staff didn't see Bryce's struggles on the horizon? They'd been seeing it all camp. Let's see how Canales and the staff do today and go from there. K? Cool!
  2. The fact this exists is really random but pretty cool even though our franchise is dogshit. As for the bet... Live your best life. F*ck it.
  3. There is some conflicting information out there right now. I think the org is wanting to see how the team responds Sunday and proceed forward from there. Which makes sense. That being said the worst thing they can do is be indecisive after making this move. The locker room is upbeat. Everything going forward now should be about the development of our young roster in what looks to assuredly be another losing season because fans are beyond tired of this neverending cycle.
  4. Unfortunately the current GM was practically in Fitterer's hip pocket through all that.
  5. Xavier Legette flatly and enthusiastically stated when asked what he's looking forward to with Andy Dalton...."the deep ball". If that doesn't sum it up for folks nothing will. They are dug in and cannot he convinced.
  6. We wholeheartedly agree about ownership I want to make sure that's understood. I've been sounding the alarm about David Tepper for years even when people were calling me a conspiracy theorist for suggesting he meddles. As far as the locker room goes I would begin to agree with you if the Panthers locker room seemed somber or divided but it is in fact the complete opposite. The vibe is relieved and upbeat. That tells me what I need to know. Now we have to see what the results are on the football field.
  7. Is that what you've heard or what you think happened? Even if it was Tepper as you suggest as much as I despise the man it wasn't the wrong decision. It was made for the good of the locker room.
  8. At this point it should be a forgone conclusion that Tepper and Canales and I'm assuming Morgan discussed it following the 2nd loss. Whether or not that discussion resulted in Tepper directly told him to bench Young is a matter of speculation. Regardless I think we can safely assume the locker room was the biggest facilitator of the decision. That's all that matters. In that regard the right call was made no matter how it was ultimately made. It might be something small but it at least is something to give us a little hope.
  9. I remember that camp thread a few months ago where Diontae got himself shaken up trying to haul in an errant sideline pass from BY. Some folks tried so hard to argue on Bryce's behalf. It's clear this had been simmering for awhile now.
  10. Yeah I'm thinking his repetition of the same mistakes and his blasé "it is what is" demeanor in general while directly hurting the team around him forced the hand of decision makers. I also think this had been brewing last season and it carried over. Idk who ultimately made the call or if it was a group decision but at this point it doesn't matter. It was what needed to be done. From here all I can do is hope things get better in some capacity while we evaluate the roster and Canales.
  11. That comment from an anonymous player paired with the night and day vibe change within the locker room speaks volumes.
  12. We lost the two final games last season with a combined score of 35-0 and a combined total of 3 third down conversions through both games with Bryce Young at QB. I don't think his romantic life had much of an effect one way or another. He was playing awful regardless.
  13. If it's that bad he's eventually going to get some playing time. Might as well get accustomed to it sooner rather than later. b13417ec-cc96-4a78-8bb4-8397ad8431f7.mp4
  14. Well at least something is going right. The Giants as a destination never really made sense anyways as their roster is being rebuilt QB is up in the air and their defense was not a pass rusher away by any means. They were already 27th in total defense last season.
  15. LeBron James does not watch the Carolina Panthers lol let's be real.
  16. Yeah that situation is odd. Didn't his dad lobby on twitter for us to draft Xavier Legette too? XL seems pretty excited to have a different QB throwing him the ball. I'm ready for Sunday!
  17. So it's basically confirmed he's opened the door to a trade via his agent? Really weak all things considered since he did the bare minimum this offseason. He definitely seems to think this is everyone else's fault and the vibe in the locker room being nothing more than a shoulder shrug and "moving along..." speaks volumes.
  18. People have been putting his name in the same conversations as hall of fame QB's for over a year now. Stop the madness. At this point he has to prove he's even a mediocre to average starter let alone very good or elite or in the company of hall of famers.
  19. I really like Sanders potential but man his leadership is abysmal. He is going to have to humble himself or be humbled and if it's the latter and doesn't happen until he gets to the NFL it could get ugly. Arch Manning is a pipedream for the Panthers no matter how you look at it and honestly as far as I'm concerned there is zero love for the Manning's anyways. The whole talk around him reminds me of Suck for Luck. Another pipe dream people should remember well. At the end of the day 9 times out of 10 if you draft a QB in the first or anywhere else they are going to be excited simply to be drafted regardless of the reputation of the destination. I'm seeing a notion that rookie QB's like Stroud are a rarity and that's too early to say. The issue with that is not many people believed in him to be what he is now. Many viewed him as a player that would need to be developed over time slowly. But for teams looking at QB's going forward it would be wise to identify some things about Stroud not just in his physical tools that everyone saw on tape but his approach his mentality and his personality that all came together to form the QB he is today.
  20. Depression is a different subject altogether. I used to fall into that trap from time to time but then I dealt with adversity with my health and that changed my mindset entirely and rewired me so to speak. You both make valid points. There's no one single fix that applies to everyone as an individual and their respective situation. Confidence perspective the way you carry yourself leading by example and allowing yourself to be humbled because we all have or will in the journey of life. No one here knows Bryce Young personally. We only know what he shows us and what he says. To this point I think it would be fair to say he's always seemed like he's following a script of some kind. If he has a shot as a QB in this league which he still could because he is a young guy he's got to wholesale switch up himself and ditch the meek puppy dog act. If you are going to be the smallest one out there amongst elite athletes you need to have a good amount of fire in your belly. If he cannot harness that as a tool in some capacity to try to overcome his lack of physicality then there is no path forward.
  21. It's the Alabama effect. He played under Saban one of the greatest college coaches of all time who went out of his way to speak highly of Bryce Young. So it just has to be literally everyone else that's the problem.
