Wow he just came right out and said it. I give him credit for his honesty I guess. And this was supposed to be Bryce Young's comparative ceiling.
-
It's abundantly clear there are quite a few people out here who have simply dropped the bar on the floor. We're a long ways from the very lofty to put it mildly predraft comparisons. Now it's basically just akin to an overbearing little league parent acting completely bonkers when their kid does anything that could be construed as positive.
-
It's very foolish on Rozier's part considering the money he was already making. But something like this isn't going to go away as the biggest sports leagues continue to directly do business with sports betting companies. It's just layers and layers of hypocrisy.
-
It's hard to take any of this seriously when major sports leagues are in bed with sports betting companies and the whole thing has become commercialized and intertwined with social media and being hip trying to get as many people as possible into becoming gambling addicts. I mean the government created RICO to go after the mob related to gambling but now it's fun for the whole family.

There are some people here and within this fanbase that perpetually want Bryce Young to be perceived as a victim even though he is the face of an NFL franchise and the third highest paid player on the roster. But these same people never complained when Xavier Legette was getting trashed left and right for the last month plus.

Running through a wall I took as a remark more in the sense of showing your teammates you're willing to do whatever it takes in high pressure moments that define games and seasons. Not literally playing with complete reckless abandon. You want to limit those scenarios with a high probably for negative outcomes clearly but I'll never complain about a guy who is the face of the team wanting to make the most of moments like that when the games are on the line. We haven't had that mentality here for quite awhile now.

$39 million as a rookie and people practically line up to tell you why Bryce Young can't pick up some weights.
-
The post you quoted just said he wanted a QB willing to do whatever it takes for his team in those crucial situations in games. Even if Bryce Young wanted to do those things he just isn't built like that. Cam was. The problem was Ron Rivera relied on that too much often to save his own job. And the result was Cam's career was unfortunately shortened. But you need a guy at QB with an edge and a mentality like that if you want to compete for anything of significance in this league. You're just never going to be able to do much if anything with a guy who can't even run a simple QB sneak because you're worried about him breaking in half.

Can't help but notice more and more of these very loudly outspoken Bryce Young defenders beginning a sentence about our only MVP in franchise history this way. Telling.
-
You'll have to have a conversation with that poster to get more on their thoughts. But these kinds of uncomfortable discussions have existed with every single QB who has started games for this team for an extended period of time. We cannot act as if Bryce Young is the only one who has faced tough questions and it's completely unfair and doing so is only going to have the complete opposite effect of what you seek because he is not a mid round pick or Mr. Irrelevant.

I can agree the whole HOF process now seems much more hollow and manipulated than in years past. Mainly just lip service to the larger markets and biggest names. Meh.

The post you quoted mentioned him going down with minimal contact which has happened frequently throughout his 37 career games it just is what it is. I don't see anything about saying it's his fault his leg got stopped on. And it is unfortunate to see Bryce Young get hurt but things happen and given his size and lack of any real physicality it was always going to be an inevitability. It wasn't like we didn't know this when we drafted him.
-
Bryce Young has come into camp three offseasons in a row looking completely the same as if he couldn't be bothered to enter the weight room and his fumbling issues have also carried over three seasons in a row. So I have no idea why anyone would expect not to see this subject of him going down with minimal contact eventually come up. Don't have to like it but that comes with the territory of being a #1 pick.

Speaking of revisiting trades: Brian Burns
frankw replied to Peon Awesome's topic in Carolina Panthers
The Panthers made splash signings and trades at QB with both Hurney and Fitterer. Big contract to Teddy Bridgewater big trade for Sam Darnold trade for Baker Mayfield. Trade all the way up to #1 for Bryce Young. They kept upping the ante every time. That's because the Tepper's were always in the room. -
Considering how wide the gap is between our spending on the offense versus the defense for the year I would say overall the defense has held up their end of the bargain and then some. Now it's up to the offense to manage more than one measly trip to the end zone.
-
I've rarely heard anyone ever use this metric but for some reason you're using it to push an agenda for a practice squad QB who has 800+ less attempts than the guy you're drawing a comparison to. You've gone off the deep end.
-
I want to see our passing offense operate at a level that isn't marginally better than when Jimmy Clausen was QB. There's a whole world of middle ground between that and throwing for 400 yards every game. If you can't handle that the problem is you.
-
Teams are putting things like this on social media for better or worse it isn't limited to just being at our expense. That's social media now. As far as the play it does not appear intentional. If it was we would know it when we see it given our history. Honestly Bryce is lucky he is playing in this era I legitimately don't think he would have survived 15 or 20 yeara ago compared to what is considered roughing the passer now.
-
If Bryce Young didn't have a higher YPA than a practice squad QB after throwing the ball 811 more times he would be the worst QB in NFL history.
-
Now THIS is worthy of a Mic'd up. Finally something we can all agree on.
-
You're comparing 324 attempts to 1135 attempts and whailing at others for making dumb arguments. Take a break.
-
The scope of the limitations is so far beyond long bombs. Nobody here is clamoring for us just to run straight up go routes on repeat. There are crucial throws defenses know we can't convert such as down the sideline that almost always result in either the ball going several feet over the receivers head out of bounds or the receiver having to leap into the air and make an acrobatic attempt to haul it in or having to completely slow down or stop. It's off the table and defenses know it and sooner or later we were going to walk into another buzzsaw like against the Patriots. Nobody here is in love with Hendon Hooker or Mike White. It wasn't us who made the decision to ignore the depth of the QB room two years in a row. You can whail at people for discussing it all you want. If you're that triggered by the discussion then call up Dan Morgan and bitch at him about the fact we are having to discuss the likes of Dalton Hooker or White. It isn't our fault.

He's on his 4th team in 4 years. Ultimately he was available for a reason. Our FO had the opportunity to not back themselves into this corner. But the onus is now on Canales. I sure hope he's up to it.
