  1. The criticism of any athlete being on social media doesn't add up. Our own #22 has been all over it making the rounds with his significant other living it up and nobody is making snide remarks. One thing I will say for Newton is he is authentic in striving to spread a positive mentality in an online world that thrives on negativity.
  2. I will happily put on my #1 jersey and cheer loudly for the Patriots to lose. No sympathy for a modern dynasty and their fans are garbage.
  3. Less interesting more random I suppose.
  4. If Sam Darnold proves to not be the answer in 2021 there will be another qb drafted anyway. I also wanted Fields but he is hardly the only possible answer in our future.
  5. I'll have to see one winning season before I think about multiple in a row. This level of optimism wasn't quite as high last year but it was still there. You have to have hope but don't set yourself up for heartbreak. There should be little doubt about the defense making strides but this all hinges on the offensive line not being a disaster and limiting turnovers and correcting redzone inefficiency. Good thing we aren't banking on a draft bust having a career year with only two failed qb's waiting behind him. More than that our offensive coordinator must do better to put the starting quarterback in the best position in different game situations. Lost in the hype is he didn't always do favors for the last starter with some of the untimely calls and running down the play clock. Hopefully this will be addressed and corrected if not the same issues will rear their head especially with a new quarterback acclimating to a different offense.
  6. Here's to hoping he lives up to the hype and then some. If he makes life difficult for the quarterbacks and receivers in our division I will have no complaints. If there were ever a worthy test for a rookie right out of the gate this will be it. Trial by fire.
  7. Interesting fact. He will be 33 when the season begins. The same age as Jared Allen when Carolina acquired him.
  8. Reality isn't an opinion. Any suggestion otherwise sounds like the ramblings of a certain someone who deals in alternative facts.
  9. I'm on the fence. I am a fan of Devonte but those missed three pointers the past two games at the end are going to linger for awhile. If you want to be the guy you have to make them count. We let Kemba walk and he made countless clutch baskets for us but we never won anything of meaning I'm not going to hand anyone anything just for being a fan favorite.
  10. Borrego had this team looking like one of the best in the NBA the first half of the season so I will give him the opportunity to show me more but he can't make these baskets for them. If there were ever a time to show there is a clutch gene now would be it for a franchise in such desperate need of some semblance of postseason success. Miles Terry and Lamelo are the core to build around. Gordon could be too but it just does not look like he is going to break the career trend of getting injured and missing significant playing time. From there everything else should be wide open.
  11. They keep trying to give Graham these looks at three with the game on the line and he keeps coming up short. Disappointing.
  12. If this thread is any indication there are some sad dudes out there who can't let the Cam thing go one way or the other. If you are still hating on him or still trying to convince yourself he will return to mvp form you might need to talk to somebody.
  13. See there is being honest about how he may play on the field moving forward based on his health and then there is ignorance like this based on his personal life. You should really focus on being less of a goof and putting more positivity in the world.
  14. Well we still don't know what the league will do about all this or if this is actually the end of this public turmoil for Watson. From the Panthers perspective they seem set with Darnold so if Watson were to become an option again it would be many months from now.
  15. It doesn't matter how many shots guys make if they can't make them when the game is on the line. There are only a few players on the current roster who have proven that. Injuries have absolutely played a part in recent struggles but only sniffing the playoffs and quickly exiting shouldn't be the bar. If the city wants to maximize the talent of Lamelo and actually keep him here they need to lure other top shelf talent and to do that they cannot afford to keep paying for average basketball or feel good stories. Do you want a winner or do you want to remain a bottom feeder who might occasionally contend for a playoff spot?
  16. The steep cost does not line up with his awful judgement as someone who should be meticulous with his decision making as the face of a major sports franchise.
  17. Bad calls by the refs or not the team looks atrocious at the end of games as of late and when the Knicks are sinking threes on you in overtime and you're chucking up airballs it's a wrap. This team will probably get throttled in the playoffs if they even make it in. Some guys with paydays coming up are showing their worth and it isn't looking good. The team can upgrade at multiple positions at this point. I've seen enough Horncats trash sorry just calling it like I see it.
  18. Dick riding billionaires and disparaging cities. The huddle does not disappoint.
  19. You worry far too much what other people think. There are moderators here they don't need a hall monitor too.
  20. @AceBoogie You can poo every post in this thread but it won't bring back prime Cam Newton. It hurts but you need to let go and move on my guy.
  21. Sadly it is more than evident at this stage in his career. The arm has not looked the same in years. I hate it for him and I would be thrilled if he had a resurgent season but there are few fairytale endings in sports.
  22. If he wears big boy drawers why wouldn't he take it upon himself to speak up? He was paid to be the guy. The Panthers had him all over social media. This was his big opportunity to showcase what he had again and his best excuse is the coaches didn't make him practice enough? He is grinning from ear to ear while telling everyone he has no leadership. I'm not even mad at him I'm more disappointed in the staff for buying into that fools gold the first year into the new regime after all the talk of a rebuild and a process.
  23. The sweater with Teddy bears on it about sums it all up. 60 million dollars and you need to be told to practice your craft? Enjoy Denver.
  24. Well you can't say the Panthers and even the league itself now aren't trying to give Sam a leg up on his transition from a bad situation to redemption and a fresh start. Hopefully he seizes this opportunity.
