You think because you slob knob all day and night it makes you a better fan. But I will be here in the fall to collect your tears if the Panthers patchwork offensive line does not hold up while we have a hundred million dollars tied up in one rb and one linebacker. Cheers.

Losing is losing no matter how much you want to polish it up. I've had posts poo'd by Cam homers too because I said his arm could be done. Why would I hold my tongue for the highest paid running back in the nfl if he isn't bringing us wins? If the truth hurts your delicate feelings maybe it's time for bed uncle junior.

Remember it was a rebuild until it wasn't when we paid a backup quarterback 30 million dollars for one year of service.
-
Are you under the impression he got a pass for losing? His own gm called him out for it publicly. Say what you want about his on the field persona but he was the Panthers leading rusher the last time Carolina had a winning record.
-
Why do we need to walk around on egg shells about the elephant in the room? It's time to win.

His natural passing ability is a good reason to be hopeful. As for the line the bar for me is higher than just being grateful we aren't as bad as the Jets. After 10 years of this we deserve better than that.

We got any clips like this from a winning season or no?

Jermain Carter Highest PFF Panther LB Last Year
frankw replied to SBBlue's topic in Carolina Panthers
Not at all surprising. ST is a decent starter but by 2022 he will have an 18 million dollar cap hit. Unless he transforms into a hall of famer this fall that contract is a weight around our necks. Sorry if that is ultimately an inconvenient truth to some but that's life. For all this talk of "slander" he has gotten a hell of lot better treatment than some past Panthers that have not lived up to big contracts so you can put alway the violin. -
That would be a Derek Carr type of season he was at 517 and 9. But he was in the thick of it in company amongst the best quarterbacks in the league like Josh Allen who had 592 and 10 picks Watson with 544 and 7 and Mahomes at 588 and 6. The MVP had 502 and 5. Even Justin Herbert had 499 and 10 ints. I think Darnold could approach 500 attempts but it will depend heavily on how the line looks early. For this specific reason we invested in another quality rb and a te who can block well. We will definitely be looking to establish the run game more and more as the season progresses remember it is 17 games now.

Decision making has been the issue all along hence the seeing ghosts remarks. I'm optimistic for his playmaking abilities with his arm and scrambling but I need to see it to believe it that he will cut down on the ints. As of right now I am realistic and expecting 12-15. Single digits would be in elite quarterback territory and at this stage pure fantasy until we see some starts.

All those touches result in hits that have a cumulative effect just ask our last qb (#1).
-
I got love for ya'll but some of you should lay off the edibles. We have a swiss cheese offensive line until proven otherwise in front of a reclamation project at qb and our star rb already got hurt behind our line last year. This ranking is probably a little too kind all things considered. Youth and an innovative staff is what we have going for us rn.

Names and faces have changed but damn if it doesn't feel like it's the same tune as yesteryear with this o line. Darnold will be putting that mobility to the test early.
-
Can't decide if he is going to be a tackle or a guard. Does not inspire confidence for the time being. I would be less concerned about the lack of consensus or cohesion on the line if we had a veteran quarterback behind there. For all the complaints about Bridgewater as a passer he did at times make last years o line look better than they actually were with some nice scrambles.
-
Can't be a game changer from the bench. You know who the best rb in football is? That would be Derrick Henry. Why? He has the build to sustain the workload. The last two seasons he has been top 5 in touches and put up 3500 yards and 33 touchdowns and only missed 1 game. And he's only the fifth highest paid back in annual salary.

We were relegated to starting Kyle Allen because we failed to build a line around our previous quarterback for the better part of a decade. I don't think you are lacking intellect or the ability to rationalize but you just cannot see past your own personal attachment on this issue. Rejoicing over individual accolades for positions that are becoming increasingly devalued while divisional rivals pass us by and add to their trophy collection is how we remain in the cellar. You are so desperate to convince yourself we are actually clever by having the highest paid running back in the league despite still be a losing team and at the bottom of our division you are throwing any other player you can under the bus. DJ Moore isn't irreplaceable either. Other successful nfl franchises seem to have an understanding of postional value and how to invest intelligently in what matters most. The trenches. The Bucs for example have slowly been building their offensive and defensive lines the last several years while the Panthers have found solace in circle jerks over stat padding in losses. The Panthers are no better off now than they were ten years ago with the offensive line. I can only hope the new brain trust understand this and build accordingly.

Could Taylor Moton become the Panthers' left tackle permanently?
frankw replied to SBBlue's topic in Carolina Panthers
Unless someone is cut and falls into our lap or someone in camp emerges this seems like the most likely scenario. Either way TM is going to be swimming in cash. -
https://fantasyfootballers.org/2019-rb-running-back-nfl-stats/ You'll have to scroll over to the right and double tap touches. 2019: CMC - 403/Kamara - 252 2018 CMC -326/Kamara - 275 2017 CMC - 197/Kamara - 201 Last year Kamara had 270. CMC was sitting at 76 in 3 games alone. So that's about 25 touches per game and taking that average McCaffrey would have soared to 400 at current pace if he played the full season which would have been most in the nfl passing Derrick Henry at 397.

Nobody said loser that's your word. Why are you so angry about this? That's called being emotional. Yes we know he is our best offensive weapon so it shouldn't be asking too much to take a step and bring us a winning season this year or at least better than worst or second worst in the nfc south yet again. How are we barely better than the Falcons? Cmon. He's the guy as the face of the team and he has the keys to the franchise. Gotta stay healthy though.
-
Agreed he is a weapon and is very good. But the problem begins with what you just mentioned. Building the o line. Who is to say that is going to happen within this timespan where we have a studly defense and these offensive weapons and all in their prime while being affordable? Those rookie contracts will expire. We should have been assembling a line of maulers three years ago minimum. Yet just the year before we used an entire draft on defense. Can we justify it? For sure. But will it make us feel better if the '21 season is ultimately a failure? One way or another by next year we have got to clamp down and build this damn line and make some draft investments early.
