  1. The oline is potential disaster waiting to happen. As always I'm hoping for the best but not expecting miracles with this group. If they can keep Sam relatively clean against the Jets I'll feel better moving forward but as of now our approach has not inspired confidence and that's justified. I get you are all in on giving this staff the benefit of the doubt but you still have to acknowledge reality.
  2. Look I like Rhule and believe in many of the things he is doing here but i swear it seems like the ghost of coach Rivera is still lurking around the team building with these oline decisions.
  3. https://sportsandfitnessdigest.com/matthew-stafford-record-against-winning-teams/ "Since entering the NFL in 2009, Matthew Stafford is 8-67 (.106) against teams that finished the season with a winning record."
  4. Jaycee Horn or an over 30 qb with a lousy record against winning teams? Send him a fruit basket he saved us from ourselves.
  5. Whatever happens this afternoon it will be great to finally stop seeing this crap and officially move on. It's gameday for the Carolina Panthers!
  6. Let him talk. He's just self destructing and proving a point that has long been known about some folks going on ten years now.
  7. This point would hold more if there weren't a topic about Drew Brees hair with two pages. Either way this discussion will be drowned out by next week as we get into the full swing of the season so it will resolve itself.
  8. It's an unfortunate situation all around. I respect Newton for being upfront and open about it all. To me it is clear he is a much different person than he was when he first got to Carolina. There are positives and negatives to that we all grow and change and none of us are perfect. And we live in a world now centered around social media and a need to connect about everything which brings it's own pluses and minuses. I hope he finds peace and if a spot is there for him in the nfl I hope he finds it but the man needs to decide on his vax status it's his own personal decision but it will keep looming if he wants a career that's the world we live in. As for this discussion and if it belongs I can't say I'm only one person but perhaps it should be a community decision.
  9. The patch is just stitching all that matters is how this group comes together with the game on the line. Let's get some damn wins. I'm ready for Sunday. It's been long enough.
  10. I can't speak for that but at this point we are all losing out in general. Social media has degraded journalism as a whole. But also there is the fact that let's be real there hasn't been much of anything to give true insight on with this team in years. We have either been in turmoil and public feuds with players like Newton or Bridgewater or just getting our butts kicked by the rest of the division. The last time we won anything meaningful was when we were in a win streak with Kyle Allen. That should tell you how low things have gotten. Hope is the best commodity for the moment. If we begin trending up I think you'll see more content here but it won't ever be like it was unless the Panthers pull a 180 on their media approach which is unlikely.
  11. If you have been around through camp you would know the lack of access is definitely not limited to him. The Panthers have taken control of the local media scene now. Some people will like it that way others will view it as a loss for fans. But that's where we're at.
  12. The top pick would be nice but I don't see us being nearly bad enough for that. The rebuild talk is a convenient excuse when needed. If we were truly in a rebuild we would have drafted our quarterback and let him take his lumps. Throwing money and draft picks at Teddy Bridgewater and Sam Darnold behind a mediocre offensive line isn't rebuilding it's just treading water. We hope Sam can get it done but just call it what it is
  13. Sports franchises sell a product. People discuss it. The horror!
  14. Obviously certain aspects yes your point is well taken. But in glaring faults such as the Panthers offensive line I don't think you need multiple years as a coach or a gm to know it's going to be an issue moving forward. The NFL goes through coaches and general managers at a rapid pace bc individual decisions can make or break. That's the business.
  15. Of course. What else could go wrong with this oline lol.
  16. Was there anyone that expected that 2015 squad to make the run they did after Kelvin went down in camp? Remind me what Carolina has accomplished since. Minus that year our oline has been a major point of concern amongst fans since every season Gross retired so to reduce this discussion to just an instance of fishing for clicks is just ignoring team history.
  17. Nobody will argue the team lacked talent last year but Teddy was risk averse to the extreme and if he wasn't he would still be here. None of the moving parts on your roster mean anything if the leader of your team is incapable of being clutch in any capacity.
  18. Actually classic Marty Hurney is thinking what you're doing is great and will pay off in spades while everyone else is looking at you perplexed. It's been ten years of this through two different GM's. We are hoping a similar approach will yield us different results in the short term. There is nothing unreasonable about that observation.
  19. Of course not but you just said they could suck for eternity and still have fans. Thus the obvious point about over half a century of brand building has an impact on the loyal fanbase they have today despite a glaring lack of success. Even the Panthers have come a long way within the last decade. It takes time to build generations of fans. But Carolina really needs to get that no back to back winning seasons thorn out of the way.
