  1. Some of that is just continuity and building chemistry which is why there was so much talk about fewer preseason reps. But we must trust our younger depth players and keep giving them opportunities if we want to do better than third in the division again. Mix things up and keep defenses honest. It should not take a career day from your rb1 to defeat the Jets by 5 when you have the WR room we are working with.
  2. Apparently we didn't score more than 19 on the worst team in the league bc we didn't want to show too much on game film this early. Now that's funny right there
  3. Sorry but we need much better than Jake 2.0 or whatever. He chucked up so many prayer balls and he would have a hard time in today's NFL without a prime 89 to pluck those out of the air and save his bacon. Sam needs to be accurate and get into a rhythm and he will be fine. But we MUST spread the ball around and quit this 1980's one man show nonsense.
  4. Yeah and we're still too predictable in those situations with Rhule like we were with Ron Rivera. Compare recent ineffectiveness in the red zone running the ball to the end of the week 2 loss against Tampa Bay in 2019 and tell me our redzone offense is much better. It really isn't and that's a problem. You can't blame it all on the line either.
  5. Sure but we don't have to have him lead the team in carries and receptions and still expect him to make something out of nothing with no holes to run through. It's a team game and the coaching staff has to spread the ball around. CMC is easily on pace to lead all backs in touches and that is not sustainable.
  6. Credit where it's due he balled out. Please bring more of this it's all we've ever asked for.
  7. Oh I know the Rams offense is going to eat that's the league now the offense has so much more of an advantage and the high scoring games sell. But if you want that SB berth you can only count on your defense so much. They'll be in the mix though.
  8. Stafford has always put up numbers but he won't get to play a team led by Andy Dalton every week. I'm curious to see how it goes when they run into a team with an elite quarterback. They got the Bucs in two weeks.
  9. He isn't a bruiser by any means but today we kept running him up the middle like he was Stephen Davis. He's a threat in the open field use him as such but good grief we were predictable.
  10. His last two teams let him walk for a reason this is why you don't buy into offseason fluff too much.
  11. So did Sam Darnold maybe we shouldn't throw stones from a glass house.
  12. What exactly has Dan Arnold done to get this hype and be mentioned in the same breath as Olsen? He's got a uphill climb to earn that level of respect and two catches for six yards ain't it. He was available cheap for a reason.
  13. We know his reputation. We can make fun of him all we want but still have to beat him. Jokes on us if we lose to that
  14. Fans that keep saying Winston is a joke?
  15. Right but Carolina hasn't manhandled the Saints like that in years is all I'm saying. We should have done to the Jets what they did to the Packers truthfully.
  16. Ya'll gotta stop leaning on this and realize other teams have talent too. For all the complaints in this thread about pessimism some folks are delusional on the other end of the spectrum too.
  17. True but I wouldn't use the Jets as a way to gauge our run D just yet. The Saints have a very dynamic offense and the likelihood is we will definitely have to muster more than 19 points.
  18. For Rodgers to lay an egg like that after all his look at me antics through the offseason is just brutal. Unmotivated opponent or not the Saints are a problem in this division.
  19. This was just the getting his feet wet game. We'll know plenty after the Saints matchup. Let us all hope Joe Brady brings his best playcalling effort bc today was not great.
  20. If the only MVP in our history was average it's time to raise the bar for everybody this season. With that in mind we should have been able to manage more than 19 points against the worst team in the league.
  21. Saints having their way with the Packers. Seems unlikely their full steam ahead to last place in our division. Joe Brady should watch and take some pointers on what a versatile offense looks like since he's so enamored with them.
  22. Held to 19 points against the undisputed worst team in the nfl at home. The oline actually wasn't quite as bad as we had prepared ourselves for. Certainly not in comparison to the Jets. Darnold was only sacked once. Playcalling needs much more consistency if we hope to win eight or more games.
  23. 21 carries and 9 receptions he led in both. We actually didn't give a single carry to another rb. And we still only beat the Jets by 5. To say our playcalling could use some versatility is not whining it's common sense. If the goal is to improve on 3rd place in our division then we should expect more in the following weeks.
  24. There are things to like and I'm happy with the win but if we show up like we did in the second half against the Bucs or Saints it's going to get out of hand fast. Don't get the hapless Jets for 16 more weeks. If you look at the best offenses in the league they are not one dimensional yet Carolina seems to be hellbent on this even if it means running McCaffrey into the ground. CMC is not built to be what they are wanting to use him as which is a battering ram. It didn't work for long with Superman who was built like a specimen and it isn't going to work here. Sorry but that's the rub.
  25. He needs to use something else in his playbook besides "plz save me CMC". This offense needs versatility. What baffles me is all the hob knobbing over Sean Payton and the Saints offense only for us to keep looking so one dimensional despite adding weapons in the offseason.
